Can you check out "I started a joke" and "Massachusetts" shows their diversity. I believe Robin is the lead singer on those two songs. I believe the 4 brothers were born in the Isle of Wright and grew up in Australia. Four awesome brothers having so much talent.
Definitely Fanny Be Tender (With My Love)! And How To Mend A Broken Heart. One of the BEST things about the BeeGees was that they always celebrated women and love in the most wonderful way.
Robin was always quick with a smile, which made him very endearing. He was also an amazing songwriter and is the one who wrote many of their hits. He might not have been the handsomest, but he was my favorite.
The Bee Gees impact on music is undeniable. They not only have written some of the most iconic songs (including this one) for themselves but for so many artists, including Barbara Streisand, Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers, Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Elton John, Andy Gibb, Frankie Valli just to name a few. Often times labeled as a disco band due to their huge success during that era but they were making hits in the 60's and until the 90's with their last album being made on 2001. Whatever they seemed to touch turned to gold.
Thanks so much for your reaction. The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1967. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced). From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too th-cam.com/video/7niXSh7vWRI/w-d-xo.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: th-cam.com/video/WH_j90fCIk4/w-d-xo.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out th-cam.com/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/w-d-xo.html. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: th-cam.com/video/MT9vRHSWNbk/w-d-xo.html. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you th-cam.com/video/CA4CInDnTk8/w-d-xo.html. And from the 1990's the simple song Blue Island live in an accoustic version: th-cam.com/video/162GlAEpfrY/w-d-xo.html. Andy was kind of Barry's mini me, about half a foot shorter and 12 years younger but they were the only lefties of the family. However, his voice was nowhere near as broad in range or as strong as Barry's. As producer Alby Galuten said in the book "Tales of the brothers Gibb "Andy's falsetto was nowhere near Barry's." Andy had a lower, huskier, sound to his voice and his range was not as big as Barry's. I personally always thought his voice was much better suited to songs of his first album, Flowing Rivers. Andy died of myocarditis - which is an inflammation of the heart - on March 10, 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday. His heart had been weakened by his drug addiction over the years which, by the way, was also the main reason for his split from Victoria Principal. He also had a congenital heart problem that was later also discovered in Barry and Barry's second son Ashley. Try listening to the song Dreamin' on th-cam.com/video/-KdBVKcSSSw/w-d-xo.html which is kind of a duet with Barry. And here are the 4 brothers live on stage in 1979 doing You Should Be Dancing th-cam.com/video/_6MR-E_Qzz0/w-d-xo.html And finally a few photos of Barry and Andy: i.postimg.cc/jS6n3Jkv/Barry-Andy.jpg and i.postimg.cc/TwnPh8M0/82c126fc42a35d3b737867af41338199.jpg and the 4 brothers with their mother i.postimg.cc/FRNMbwkD/b9b2561eadffee11347573c97063c2f8-zpsd89478eb.jpg

I am a Baby Boomer and we grew up with the Bee Gees singing to us during our teens. We are now YOUR grandmothers who offer solid advice, love, and support. When you mentioned you were really digging country music, this is not surprising to me. Life tends to make you like the music that means something for you....country music speaks to life and experience. If you continue with some good country music....not this modern stuff posing as country music...your station will continue to grow as us BOOMERS will become your family and send you suggestions for things you missed and you should now hear. "OK, Boomer." 😊 Just kidding. I'm Gen X. We get the least love , but it's all good. Gen X is the middle child of Boomers and Millennials. But I'm an older Xer. I was born in 68. I remember growing up on Beegees. I was a little kid, but I still remember the music of the 70s. It's comforting and reminds me of happy childhood times. I'm glad that I was a kid when things were less complicated. This is beautiful music. I can lay back and relax, close my eyes, and just feel good. Happy day.
Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers - 'Islands in the Stream'The Bee Gees originally wrote the song for Marvin Gaye in an R&B style, but later changed it to fit Kenny Rogers' album.
Beautiful harmonies because they’re brothers. They first sang together as young kids in Australia. They've written music for Barbra Steisand, Kenny Rogers, Celine Dionne to name a few.
I never was a BG's fan back in the day. But I now have a great appreciation for their harmony. I was a hippie type chick. Never got into disco. Give me some Beatles, Pink Floyd, Janice Joplin, Zeppelin.... But I have kept listening to new music. A person has to keep growing. P.S. I love Ren! You're not bad yourself. ❤
The one you called best looking is Barry Gibb and yes he is the oldest a the only one still living. The other 2 are twins named Maurice and Robin. Another fun fact is that these 3 stayed married to their first wives all these years. Andy was younger than them and never married that I am aware of. He died so young.
Barry Gibb wrote the hit song "Islands in the Stream" sung by Dolly & Kenny Rogers... Also, he wrote the theme song to the movie "Grease" sung by Frankie Valli 😊
You are in for a treat if you never heard this. Growing up, hated disco and hated the Bee Gees, but you grow up and realize how great these guys were. The problem back in the days, We talking 40 plus years ago. The radio only played the songs in the shortest way possible, but then you hear the real songs on an album and realized just how much you missed. Disco Inferno is a great example. A 4 minute song on the radio, but a 9 minute song on the album. The good ol days,
I love Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. I'm Gen X. Those two bands have lots of long songs. My mom, a boomer, hates them. We both like Motown, but she likes 3 min songs.
Love The Bee Gees! Barry was definitely rocking those tight white pants 😂 I loved Barry back in the day but then Andy came along ! I was quite fickle back then 🤣🤣❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
They had 5 decades of music, it's impossible to pick a favorite! Barry Gibb is the 2nd most successful songwriter in music history. 3rd in the Billboard Hot 100. Had 5 hits in the top 10 in the Spring of 1978.
One of my favorite Bee Gees songs is More than a woman! Always makes me think of one of my favorite movies from the 80s called Short Circuit! #Johnny5isalive
Agree with you- Too Much Heaven is still #1 for me. Love this one though. To me, Robin in the 70s ( wearing the vest here) is equally as adorable as Barry ( lead singer in this video) is handsome. But Barry is gorgeous in all decades!!❤ However Robin's voice is my favorite!! I love them all. Please react to Robin leading in "I Cant See Nobody" Melbourne 1974 Live concert. It is classic soulful rock. Also: Love You Inside Out - so funky!!❤❤❤
One of the worst things about their passing...... Each died in the exact opposite order from when they were born. Barry was alive to see each born, each die and whats the saddest part is.... Barry has said publicly that his heartache is that he was fussing or upset with each one when they passed.😢
I’ve buried a brother. Barry buried 3. I feel for the man. I remember the day my brother as I’m 8 years older, the day he died, had to tell my mom, then the burial. My heart aches for Barry. He’ll see them soon.
The Bee Gees are english but they grew up in Redcliffe which is outside Brisbane Australia. They wrote a song "To love somebody " for Otis Redding but he died and they recorded it themselves. That was in the '60s .
Ok, so mostly no one would be aware of this one, but you need to do Barry’s live version of “How Can You Mend A Broken Heart” on The Grand Ole Opry, after all of his brothers had passed away. It’s phenomenal. The song doesn’t start until about 3 1/2 minutes into the video, but it’s very humbling and just perfect. I worked that show and it is one of my favorite memories in my 57 years on this earth
You should watch the Movie -Sergent Pepper ! All the performers singing Beatles songs ! It is a supreme Slam Dunk for all the performers ! The BeeGees were the main characters but all the singing performers were phenomenal and absolutely the right ones to pull off the parts they played! Give yourself that gift!!
More: Again, I Love your Bee Gee reactions The Bee Gees were more than just disco! I’m not sure if you’ve reacted to any of these, but here’s a list with my interpretation of what genre I think they fall under: Too Much Heaven (R&B) (you reacted to already) How Deep Is Your Love (R&B Ballard) (you reacted to already) Staying Alive (disco) Night Fever (disco) You Should Be Dancing (R&B or disco) Fanny be tender with my love (R&B) Jive Talking (R&B) Nights on Broadway (R&B/Funk) Tragedy (Techno? Pop) More than a woman (Disco/R&B) Love you inside out (Funk/pop) To love somebody (R&B) Massachusetts (pop/country) Alone (pop) Lonely Days (pop) You Win Again (pop) Run to Me (pop) How Can you mend a broken heart (R&B) Kiss of Life (rock) Rest Your Love on Me Awhile (country) Bodyguard (R&B) The 1989 One for all tour medley (excellent vocals & some humor) Some that only the avid Bee Gee fans might know that you might want to react to: My Lover’s Prayer (pop ballard) Letting Go (pop ballard) Subway (R&B) You Stepped Into My life (Funk/r&b) Children of the World (pop) Search, Find (pop or R&B) Songs written by Barry Gibb (that other artists sung), alone or with his brothers (Robin &!Maurice Gibb): If I Can't Have You (Yvonne Elliman) Woman in Love ( Barbra Streisand). In fact, Gibb wrote every song on her Guilty CD, and did 2 duets with her. And he did most of the background vocals on a lot of the songs. Islands in the Stream (Kenny Rogers & Dolly Partons). In fact, Barry wrote all the songs on Kenny's "Eyes that See in the Dark" CD Heartbreaker (Deion Warwick). In fact, Barry wrote every song on this CD too. The Bee Gees also did the Background vocals. Chain Reaction (Diana Ross) and yes, Barry wrote all the songs on this CD too. Barry also did the background vocals. Immortality (Celine Dion) The Bee Gees also sung background. More Than a Woman (Tavares) Love Me (Yvonne Elliman) Come on Over (Olivia Newton John) Emotions (Samantha Sang, with a lot of background vocals with Barry). Destiny's Child also recorded it. Grease--from the movie (Frankie Valli) Heart Beating in Time (Leo Sayer) Let me wake up in your arms (Lulu), who use to be married to Maurice Gibb A lot of Andy Gibb songs (Shadow Dancing, Everlasting Love, Love is Thicker than Water, Our Love, Don't Throw It Away; Desire;)
It's a song about the ultimate love in a relationship. “How Deep Is Your Love” shows even when they have broken up, they still manage to fight for the love of the relationship, “how deep” is how strong they are for themselves, proving the value of their love through challenges, ups and downs, unbeatable foe.
Barry Gibb is a Mensch. That man has been through some heartache. Class Act always. Watch Saturday Night Fever With John Travolta. The 1970’s disco scene movie juggernaut That will explain a lot “Shake Your Booty” Is KC & The Sunshine Band. You need their catalog . All of it. Disco LEGENDS. And you need some Jim Morrison / The Doors in your world, Lyrics galore. You’ll be in Heaven. Riders On The Storm Break On Through LA Woman.. 60’s/70’s we’re full crazy talent
My favorite Bee Gees song- I still find it moving when I hear it.- Thank you for appreciating good songs, I enjoy your comments and curiosity when asking for more info from us viewers. 😉
Shake your booty, KC and The Sunshine Band. Keep learning, love seeing young people discovering the treasure trove of great tunes from decades past....
Love the Brothers Gibb...Andy and Barry were definitely the most handsome...twins Robin and Maurice were awesome too...My first concert was Andy Gibb ❤ Thanks for the childhood memories ❤
I was in beauty school when this came out and the guys all wanted Barry’s haircut. One guy told me this is the best haircut I’ve ever had, made my day.
Check out earlier stuff like To love somebody!! I think you will like it 😉 wrote for Otis Redding to sing but Redding passed away in accident and BGs decided to go ahead and sing it themselves. Glad they did!❤
They actually wrote many songs for many bands over 1000.. They were great song writers. One you may remember Island in the stream with Dolly Parton and Kenny Rodgers..
You must listen to old Bee Gees. 1960’s stuff. Massachusetts, i started a joke, to love somebody. That will really give you a sense of who they were to what they became in the disco era. Only Barry Gibb is left! 53 years married and now 77.
I think you'll be stunned at the amount of music these guys wrote. They were always writing and for a while it seemed like they were writing for everybody. The Guilty album that they wrote for Barbra Streisand is so so beautiful.
Barry and Andy looked a lot alike. All three brothers favor each other and are handsome (my opinion). But Barry and Andy did look the most alike. Great reaction. You would enjoy I could not love you more, Kiss of life, Sacred Trust and She keeps on coming. ❤❤❤ Barry the oldest and tallest is sadly last remaining brother, still doing music and happily married to his Linda since 9/1/1970
This was my wife and I‘s last dance at our wedding. I got married in 97 so probably 20 years after this song was released. still love it today 45 years or so later
Sir Barry Gibb has been happily married to his wife Linda for over 53 years.
Bee Gees will be in a league all their own for generations to come...💖💖💖
Not everything was over sexualized back in the day. There was a lot of really wholesome just great soulful music.
It was still about sex... or trying to get it

I going with my Homie right there Berry is the man!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤😋
The Bee Gees are english but they grew up in Redcliffe which is outside Brisbane Australia. They wrote a song "To love somebody " for Otis Redding but he died and they recorded it themselves. That was in the '60s .
Berry was a dream boat for sure ❤
Yes, Barry is the oldest and the most handsome. We ALL fell for Barry and then Andy shows up ...... #BarryCanSTILLGetIt
When 'Love' was pure love..... back in the day :)
This is a nice wedding dance song. Their song Emotion is a great song too and Destiny's child did a nice cover of it too.
One of my favorites is "Nights on Broadway."
Aaaah, this song hits the spot and always has. How lucky we are to have such beautiful music to enjoy forever.
They wrote "Islands in the stream."
Barry Gibb was the heartthrob.
Robyn Gibb with the longer hair, sings their song I Started a Joke that is simply amazing.
Nobody can harmonize like the brothers Gibbs.
Love Bee Gees totally one of a kind sound. Commadors comes to mind as a huge era of my youth as well. Lionel was such a good singer to
The Commodors were awesome. I do miss the days when almost all singers could play an instrument or more than one.
To me… the most beautiful ballad of all time… Too Much Heaven is pretty close.

Songs written by Barry Gibb (that other artists sung), alone or with his brothers (Robin &!Maurice Gibb):
If I Can't Have You (Yvonne Elliman)
Woman in Love ( Barbra Streisand). In fact, Gibb wrote every song on her Guilty CD, and did 2 duets with her. And he did most of the background vocals on a lot of the songs.
Islands in the Stream (Kenny Rogers & Dolly Partons). In fact, Barry wrote all the songs on Kenny's "Eyes that See in the Dark" CD
Heartbreaker (Deion Warwick).
More Than a Woman (Tavares)
Love Me (Yvonne Elliman)
Come on Over (Olivia Newton John)
Emotions (Samantha Sang, with a lot of background vocals with Barry). Destiny's Child also recorded it.
Grease--from the movie (Frankie Valli)
Heart Beating in Time (Leo Sayer)
Let me wake up in your arms (Lulu), who use to be married to Maurice Gibb
A lot of Andy Gibb songs (Shadow Dancing, Everlasting Love, Love is Thicker than Water, Our Love, Don't Throw It Away; Desire;)
They wouldn’t use the word BOOTY in a song. They write classy lyrics. That’s K.C. And the Sunshine band.
Yeh. BOOGIE CHILD is much classier than anything KC did!!
Yes, Shake your booty is by K. C. And the Sunshine Band...
That's a good song, " shake, shake, "
Again, not trippin, Barry is dead sexy. 🔥 So glad you’re diving into more of their catalogue!!
Listen to the song "I started a joke" beautiful and amazing vocals. Another great Bee Gee song
This is a pure love song, nothing more. It is from Saturday night fever. Many of the songs from that movie were written by the Bee Gees.
Watch
Saturday Night Fever
With John Travolta.
The 1970’s disco scene movie juggernaut
That will explain a lot
“Shake Your Booty”
Is KC & The Sunshine Band.
You need their catalog .
All of it.
Disco LEGENDS.
And you need some Jim Morrison / The Doors in your world,
Lyrics galore.
You’ll be in Heaven.
Riders On The Storm
Break On Through
LA Woman..
60’s/70’s we’re full crazy talent
To love somebody is the song they wrote for Marvin Gaye, and how do you mend a broken heart is amazing too
My favorite Bee Gees song- I still find it moving when I hear it.- Thank you for appreciating good songs, I enjoy your comments and curiosity when asking for more info from us viewers. 😉
To me, this is the most beautiful love song ever…❤
bee gees love you inside out
So many!!! Nights of Broadway is a personal favourite
Shake your booty, KC and The Sunshine Band. Keep learning, love seeing young people discovering the treasure trove of great tunes from decades past....
They wrote and performed a lot of songs for "Saturday Night Fever."
I really enjoy your reaction.. I’m 72.. so “happy” that you discovered.. our.. “beauty”.. really.. ❤️ former Toronto.. hippie 👍🇨🇦
Glad they did!❤
Dolly Parton and Kenny Roger's beautiful. I think a Grammy winner.
Thanks black Pegasus 💕💕💕💕💙
I like this song a lot but I am with you on To Much Heaven. I absolutely love that song.😊
Yes, he is soooo handsome my sister is in love with him and I loved Andy who was like his mini, both very handsome ❤❤
💜 The Bee Gees! Beautiful voices. Actually Robin has the best voice to me. Check into him.
Barry Gibbs says this is his favorite song they ever wrote.. More than 1000 songs and this is his number 1.
THEY WERE A MUSICAL PHENOMENON
BeeGees were always about class! Just enjoy the music! And listen to more BeeGees! 😊
I think you'll be stunned at the amount of music these guys wrote. They were always writing and for a while it seemed like they were writing for everybody. The Guilty album that they wrote for Barbra Streisand is so so beautiful.
Another couple of great songs from the Bee Gees you should listen to. (More Than A Woman) and (You Should Be Dancing).
They each had long marriages, and went through it....but this was a no matter what, for real, love song. Still loved 47 years later.
Barry and Andy looked a lot alike. All three brothers favor each other and are handsome (my opinion). But Barry and Andy did look the most alike. Great reaction. You would enjoy I could not love you more, Kiss of life, Sacred Trust and She keeps on coming. ❤❤❤ Barry the oldest and tallest is sadly last remaining brother, still doing music and happily married to his Linda since 9/1/1970
Barry and Andy also had identical birthmarks.
The song used to be a guilty pleasure of mine as a 1990s teenager no more guilt, just pleasure nowadays.
This was my wife and I‘s last dance at our wedding. I got married in 97 so probably 20 years after this song was released. still love it today 45 years or so later
I melt when I hear this. If you watch enough Bee gees you will see. Mo & Robin are awesome. Mo is my forever love 💞💞💞💞💞💞. .
Check out Guilty written for Barbra Streisand with Barry Gibb duets
Barry actually wrote islands in the Stream that Dolly Pardon and Kenny Rogers did
I'd love to hear you react to "Immortality" by Celine Dion and the Bee Gees.
