- Welcome to Standing Stone Kennels! We have had our cocker puppy, Trip, now for 6 weeks. Here is a little update on how his training has been going. We also added a nail trimming session because we feel this is something that needs continued work.

Thanks for being so generous with your knowledge! I have an 8 week old GSP and I’m using your vids as a guide!
Glad to hear it, and happy to help!
I’ve got a lab pup at about this same point so I’m loving the “benchmarks” I know it’s not the same for every dog but I love that I can keep up almost in live time with you all!
That’s awesome!!
Way off topic, but how do you dock your puppies' tails?
I have a 2 yr old aussiedoodle (rehome situation). We have been bonding and I received my clicker/ treat bag in the mail recently. My question is how can I teach him to “focus” my dog isn’t very confident so I would like to work on his confidence?? (Working on charging the clicker) Help? He’s incredibly smart though. I have taught my dog to sit and we are working on down. My dog really isn’t treat motivated (it’s getting better.. we are working on it), and he fetches perfectly and always brings it back to my hand. Is there a way to work with y’all side by side?

He seems to quiet down fairly quickly for his nail trims at that young of an age. I had to bribe my WPG with treats til the day he died. RIP Magoo.
He isn’t bad at all! Just something we are still working toward!
I had a WPG that I did not condition to nail trim and it was a battle for 9 years. Now I followed Standing Stones advice with my 19 week old WPG and nail trimming is now a joy!
