  • With the Thule bars now in place, today we finish the installation of the Roofnest Condor XL rooftop tent onto the Ford Expedition.
We test it out in the 'wild' and I share some thoughts after using it on our first camping trip.
Also, I share some information regarding the Quick-Set Escape Screen Tent by Clam.

Is the roof weight limit not 125lbs with the sunroof? Have you had any problems?

The tent was only on there for about … 1-2 months. No problems. Felt solid.
Saying that, 125lbs is the listed rating for cars with the moonroof. 🤷‍♂️

Does the condor have good ventilation? Is it good quality?

Quality is good. Ventilation is good. The XL is solid competition against the Skycamp with a slightly smaller foot print when folded. BUT, personally is never but it again. It might be right for some people, but for how much I camp, it doesn’t justify the cost. Also, if you’re not committed to keeping this on your truck, taking it up and down really is a pain. 🤷‍♂️
