Hey Toby, thanks for the comment buddy. Glad you enjoyed the video. I've always said to diagnose a system you need to understand a system and a lot of people don't understand so I hope the video helps everyone 😎
Always good to see new faults like that lane departure , and those faulty switches causing module faults..😊 . Going to help us Techs out in the future, , lol.. We've had a few LF front camera issues before....
As usual ,a joy to watch.😊 Ps i'm keeping my 2015 model around for as long as possible. Less to program.😅 Pps last monday i was at my local Daf dealer ,stood next to a XGN.Head was coming off.Injector tip had exploded
Ha ha ha I said to a customer the other day to stay away From Next Generation Daf at the moment. I'd be buying 2021 after the camshaft issues if I wanted a new truck 😂
Hey John glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching as always buddy. I was only after the resistance out of them and they were cheap! As you say.....I hope the windows clear them 😅😅😅😅
Love the vids keep them coming! Your new little speakers won’t be heard over the radio will they, as the mute box won’t turn the volume down of the radio anymore will they? Or am I wrong? Or do they not care and just want rid of the warning light 😅
I'm glad you like the videos buddy. You won't hear these speakers, they were cheaper than trying to sort out some form of resistance. I know speakers are 4 ohms and for the mute box to work correctly it would need to be wired into the radio.......so speakers it was as they just want a clean dashboard 😂
A nice collection of faults you have on your hands there.. Does not come up with a fault when someone has been messing about with things 😂😂 Something to keep,a note of in the future for faults 👍👍
@johnwaby4321 yep it was a good few hours to sort but we got there in the end....biggest issue I've found going self-employed is 10 people have had a go or done something first 🫣
Hey Russel Interesting and fun video! A lot has changed with the old days when I was a mechanic when you still had to connect wiring and relays for each switch, I didn't know so much had changed. Nowadays installation does get very easy except when you have a fault then nothing works.🫣 The person who installed the radio did a poor job I also saw a scotts block somewhere and tape 🫣🫣. How long has he had the lane departure interference I think the speakers have been sitting there for a while and then noticed nothing? The driver loves stickers 😂
Hey Rick, Glad you enjoyed the video buddy. It's crazy the technology in trucks these days and Next Generation Daf is worse (or better) for technology. This is an industry issue where young people won't come into the industry as they think it's below them and this is why they need to see the tech in trucks these days. It was a bit of a head-scratcher with the radio but it just means I need to think outside the box more when it comes to working on trucks that have had 6 or 10 people play with them first 😫
@pauljohn6637 you think this is bad....you should see next-generation Daf. I had a mate in Ireland who couldn't program an engine ECU on a Volvo the other day because the software was wrong in the bloody electric mirror ecu 😂😂😂😂 I'm glad to say it's not that bad on DAF yet lol
Nice one Russel, so the axle switch and battery ecu could of packed up recently but the lane departure must of stopped working when the speakers were fitted ? Just had a problem with a old merc actros...... found a circuit tester behind the fuse box and alot of fresh finger prints.....I'm not the first here am I !
Hey Darren 👋 nice to speak to you buddy. Yep the axle switch could have gone and the battery ECU too at some point but as for the lane departure I think that would have been on right away! Ha ha ha it wasn't my circuit tester was it lol I've just put a DVS kit on a merc on the old X7 plug 😂😂😂😂😂
@@TRUCKTECHUK I started repairing wagons back in 1988 on leyland constructors and ford cargo's. Hey Rick, While I've worked on a few old trucks from the 90's it's amazing how far things have come and where we are heading will require individuals the industry just can't afford 🫣 As you say If I spend 4 hours looking at a fault, some people think I'm taking the piss. I tend to not answer customers now who complain about prices 😂
Unfortunately mate I wouldn't have a clue. If it's AS-TRONIC OR TRAXON (ZF) like DAF it should learn it automatically. You can speed up the leaning with ignition cycles as it forces opening and closing processes and makes the bite less harsh. On TRAXON you should remove the blank on the ecu before removing and replacing the clutch to expel the air from the booster so you don't damage it.

Hi mate, great video again. Can I reset the vic3 by unplugging it? iv got 2018 xf daf at work with coolant light on all the time it's had a new compressor head and thermostats ,new header tank, and sensor. Got told by daf the vic needs resetting.
@norb0254 the customer has had a header tank put on it with a level sensor and now the warning won't go off. It's 2019 daf xf mx-13 so in the chassis number range for programming unfortunately.
Have a MAN here with code 3610 - 04, which refers to hardware overheat in the EBS, operational lockout... shows code on dash, whinges about EBS failure - scans no fault codes present on Delphi - which leads me to believe the WabcoBrain has left the chat - except nobody else here agrees with me, they say I'm wrong & it's something else. Ever come across that during your travels? :-) Thoughts appreciated muchly, it's starting to do my head in. '06 TGL btw.
I've never done any work on MAN EBS, is it it EBS-3? ID check power grounds and can to the unit if it's not on the network, if you have all of that at the ECU, then replace the ECU 👍

I found jaltest easy to use. It's very intuitive, as I've always said. As for tests, it doesn't have a lot missing for Daf, hence why I went with jaltest and not a davie at the time and the fact it does all the other manufacturers
