I've used davie-4 for 10 years and I've not found one thing I can't do with this. I can even program the PCI ecu

If it's UST Daf Euro-6 and JUST fault codes, not fuel system diagnostics this will be fine but it's 2500 to buy and 500 every 2 years for a license.

The issue with the injectors has been seen in the sales statistics. Q1 2024 In Europe, Paccar recorded a significant decline delivering only 11,600 vehicles, 33% fewer than a year earlier. Sales in other markets also declined to 7,000 trucks, down by 9%.

@@TRUCKTECHUK Yep it's a shame because i loved the DAF's upto the Euro 3 after that i liked the cabs buuut the engines where troublesome and those automated transmissions a nightmare to work with due to the delay in response) And now the injectors it's a shame... even i went from Paccar to MAN and ever since i got the lorry from VW Group no trouble that causes breakdowns.... the only thing i get all the time and i refuse to replace is the NOx sensor... they can replace it buuut it's no use since it works good enough to keep it between the lines of Euro 6.

When in engine protection the bpv gets moved to 100 percent open but the EGR closes to 0 percent. The truck also locks the VTG at 100% open......this is a fail-safe mode for the truck to operate in until it's repaired 👍 The downside of this protection mode was Nox production, which is why you see DPF's stuck in the exhaust full of AdBlue. The adblue system tried to compensate for the excessive Nox levels with adblue 🫣

So I understand that. AdBlue consumption will be increased and will the DPF filter clog faster?

@autobild01 I don't think soot production would increase (I'd need to check the AFR to see what it was under normal operating conditions vs protection mode) Last thing you need is a blocked DPF too lol All I know is Nox levels would increase hence the software update in 2018 fixes the excessive adblue condition under protection. @@TRUCKTECHUK Why did I ask you this question? Diagnosed the truck with an error on the accelerator pedal. The error on the pedal was constantly active, but with this error it is always sporadically inactive on the BPV. Disconnected the BPV connector, the accelerator pedal error became inactive. And the pedal works perfectly. Customers contacted the service center, and there they changed the engine software with the BPV disabled

No, all my abnormal pressure issues are usually identifiable. I'd go out and monitor the pressure while driving to see if you can induce the fault. I have it before where the pipes from the pump to the dosing valve were the fault....if you can swap the bundle of pipes I'd go down that route buddy IF you think you're good with the pump and doser 👌

@@TRUCKTECHUK thanks for the reply found in a test drive pressure at random times started waving up and down and it dropped to 1 bar putting fault on dash, but strange how the pressure stays at 9 90% of the time then starts bouncing up and down 😅 have the pump off now and don’t see any signs of internal leak so maybe pressure relief valve

Can you swap it out for another pump you know is good before you go changing parts or buying a new pump? Well done for inducing the condition and seeing what was going on 👌😎

@@TRUCKTECHUK got it sorted hopefully was just the pressure relief valve so nice and handy swapped from another truck and now not faulting 👌🏻 only came across your channel at the weekend but love the quality and knowledge in the videos great to learn about systems on DAF I’m not familiar with

I've not seen any snapped camshafts but worn or spun cam lobes due to the design 🤔

@@TRUCKTECHUK had at least 5 snapped one twice they sound as if they are only running on 4 or5 cylinders

It's odd how the performance can differ from truck to truck and with no fault codes, customers aren't willing to invest money in investigating driver complaints about power. ....which is annoying from my point of veiw as I've 4 trucks currently that I can't get to the bottom of due to cost restrictions 😕

VGT replacement. Inspected and healthy fuel pump, replacement air filter, replacement black head sensor, clean radiator, clean pipes, replacement clutch disc, replacement fuel filter,😢

I KID YOU NOT....... you're the 4th person in the last 30 days with this issue 🫣🫣🫣🫣🫣. When you get the change.....go pull the BPV electrical plug off and leave it temporarily off..... it will put the truck into engine protection mode and lock the turbo into the fully open position. Drive it down the road and then come back and tell me if the performance has come back 😎

Mate I was in the same boat as you, completely didn’t believe in them, thought they were some sort of made up fictional fluid till DAFs repair process to fix NGD was an injector flush process. I’ve physically seen the results before and after. Don’t get me wrong you can have mechanical issues with fuel system components but if I told you for 30 quid DAF sell a fluid that could clean your injectors due to wax soft deposit build up in the fuel injection system or you can go spend £4000 on injectors what would you do?
