I've gotten my hands on a copy of gt7 and I have played it for a few weeks, after I watched this video I genuinely saw a really big difference in my previous lap times averaging to be 12 seconds faster than my previous laps thank you very much man I really appreciated this quick guide 👍👍👍

I typically drive on the dark parts entering a corner I've started doing what you're saying and doing. I feel more comfortable in manual because when I was racing in midnight club I would down shift into 2 for corners. But I've had to retrain myself. For me bleeding off the brakes into corner is something difficult for me.

You also have to build that instinct and practice is something you will get with time and practice
Please do the video on punters the penalty system, and when and now the invisibility works in sports mode we just need a baseline to understand. Nothing explains how it works.

How did you move the back mirror to the wheel area in the first person mode?
Do you think driving on VR is a disadvantage? Like seeing your break and throttle inputs seems like a massive benefit or is it something you get used to anyway?
I don’t think it would make much of a difference. If you need to see where your throttle and break are at on your wheel+pedal set or controller play with it off for a bit. You’ll get the feel for where your at on the throttle without the indicator’s.
@@Covkiv thanks. It's bit silly question in retrospect. I'm in A+ now. I don't think there's really disadvantage to race in VR. Yellow flags should have a warning on hud.
I'm a very casual player, will never have the space for a full sim set-up so I am stuck with using a controller. Glad you acknowledged that some of us will "only" be using controllers, how disadvantaged are we to people with full steering-wheel and pedal set-ups or should we be expecting to be able to achieve similar lap times?

@@nonyabizz3533Well you have to reprogram yourself and give yourself some more time. Look at how long you've been using controller vs wheel and pedal.

You often see the marbles on the non-racing line-are they safe to drive on? [A guy in the actual Indy 500 this year wrecked when he got too far up into them]
They are safe, but you'll lose alot of grip (im not an expert tho)

how do you know the best moment to change gear for every car? is it at the rpm for the max BHP?
The rpm meter color changes from white to red. Red is max hp so white is obviously not ideal. You got to sync this with your gearbox. Try to get as much in the red color when you shift gears. You can change the gearbox settings to do this. You need shorter or longer gears in combination with ratio. The rpm meter just got to drop down in the best power bandwith when you shift. Just play around with it and you'll get the hang of it. I didn't test if you got every single gear right, then if you can change the ratio as you like. To maximize topspeeds at different tracks. I would say every track can/needs a special gearbox setup to maximize it's potential, but that is an insane amount of work to do that for every car. I hope my story is helpfull. Maybe someone can confirm this.

You’re the best my friend!! The trail braking bit will help a lot. I was a little confused about it to be honest. For some reason on the daily’s my first lap is always my fastest lap. From there it’s down hill. I’m a decent driver. I have a D driver rating (working on it) and a S sportsmanship rating. We’re all racing to have fun right?? I always let drivers go if I know they are faster. I’m not going to ruin someone’s race because I’m trying to hold someone up. If been sim racing in some fashion for 25 years. My driver rating in sport was an A and a S but I can’t seem to get there with GT7. Thanks for the tips!! I’m going to check out your sight and maybe get you to help with building on my skills.

Braking! Braking! Braking! PLEASE. I have a ton of money sitting here collecting dust because of the brakes feel nothing like my daily. I know they’re not supposed to but how do I use them? It’s either not enough brake or way too much.
I just started playing and the braking zones are a nightmareeee! I don’t understand what I need to be doing. I’m also using a controller …someone please tell me how to master braking around corners on a controller 😭
I had a hard time with this also just recently did the switch to wheel though, anyway go to settings and change the braking assist to a braking area which shows it on the track and can be easily misread to braking indicator I think that one shows on your HUD and you’ll notice it start turning red the closer you come to the brake zone, this has helped me learn the braking zones and where to find the markers on the track.
Tips for expert beginners. I was thinking of buying this…I might pass now 😂
