Kireth you can adjust your distance and height in cockpit on psvr2, when you recentre the camera holding the options button lean forward to be further back or more forward for the opposite effect, also if your too high lean up a bit gives you more height
From.the offset with gtsport I've been using bumper cam with mirror . Personally want all that view coming at me. Cockpit is too restrictive and chase cam is too unrealistic. Even if I found myself more competitive in chase I could never use it as its just too "video game" as opposed to "sim racing game". Interestingly Tidgney (some of you may know was on for 3rd place in gtsport world champs until he got punted off track). He did a video testing all the different views. To his surprise he found bumper cam with mirror fastest, (a view he was not using at the gtsport world championships)
Roof view is the way to go imo. Bumper view is the next best but for me it’s too low to the ground. Roof cam gives nice overview therefore gives me the best feel for track and vehicle dimensions.
I feel that you're very knowledgeable about gt7 and i need some advise. I'm having trouble with the licenses test. So what setting or camera do you recommend? Thanks
Btw do you wear gloves when racing on the G pro ?I used to because my first TM wheel was alcantara and you had to wear them so got used to racing like that but have recently swithed to no gloves and much more comfortable for long sessions .I only run mine at 7 or 8 nm tho with minimal trueforce
if you arent using VR then irrespective of how fast you are you are playing a game, VR IS simulation, it is the upper tier now and i suspect the great leveller, anything lower than VR isnt credible any more IMO appreciate that might sound elitist and many cant afford the VR but if you fancy yourself as a sim racer then it HAS to be VR and imo the GT OFFICIAL race stuff should force the drivers to use it
Sadly GT7 is a console game aimed at kids as well as adults so the game now blurs the line between sim and arcade game but it’s roots are a game not a sim. I love the fact I don’t need to buy a £2k PC to play in VR now and GT7 has absolutely nailed VR sim racing since the February upgrade but it’s great that everyone gets to race together. I wish we could have VR only races though too
I used to use bumper cam in GTS (not the roof cam which he also called bumper cam), but since switching to cockpit cam in GT7 the level of satisfaction and enjoyment has rocketed, when you can see the cars next to you or just in front of you from within the cockpit when you're racing close, the sense of immersion is immense which makes it so much more enjoyable, can only imagine how good VR must be
Third person because of the wider field of view. When nasty drivers are trying to ram me, I can usually see them setting up and try to avoid them. When I watch motorsports we view the event, usually not from the in car camera. When I'm watching, I'm learning.
Cockpit may offer the least advantage, but I love it for the immersion. I'd use 3rd person more if the camera wasn't so "stiff (?)" and the fact that the car itself always blocks my view of the road, especially on hills. Might try the hood camera sometime, but I don't like the bumper cam, I need at least some frame of reference between my car and the road.
You should try to make a comparison test between each. Like how much the steering and brakes and handling changes from view to view. I bet it's at least 20% gain on the bumper cam lol
Bumper cam will easily be the quickest out of all camera angles, as you know exactly where to place the car on apex entry/exit. I play for realism, though. Even if I'm 1-2 seconds off the pace of the fastest guys in the world in cockpit mode, it doesn't matter to me. I want to get the full experience. And it makes me happy to know that if I'm a bumper cam driver, I'm easily into the top 2% in the world, and in some cases, in the top 1%.
First person camera to me to race normal, and 3rd person for drift. By the way, I didn't see no one talking but they made change in the roullette, my first ticket was a 4 star one... And i could won a Super Formula, Lambo Veneno, Tomahawk and the Aston Martin Vulcan, I won the Super formula. Way much better than the 5k credits.
I use roof/hood because i'm fastest in it (like most use bumper/hood because they are faster with it) , but in my opinion everyone should be forced to cockpit view in sport mode...
I use the cockpit for realism, but the roof calm view is the easiest/most advantageous to drive from. I have never been able to drive any game third person....kudos to you if you can. Zero realism though. Same with bumper cam.

I've always been a hood view guy. I don't care for the change in sound (as if you are farther away) when on hood view. I would like the option to have the same cockpit sound while in hood view.
Cockpit is much more challenging than driving from the roof, or front bumper. Who knew?! I love sitting in those amazing reproductions of the actual cockpit in every car. Back in the Need For Speed days, I could only dream of such realism.
Theres only one camera worse than 3rd person and thats the interior view. Roof view is best by far. Gt needs to make 3rd person canera like forza motorsport
I always drive in cockpit view. But if i can absolutely not can win the race (for example Autopolis Formule at the moment) I wil drive whit the camera at the top of the roof . Becaus there are so many curves , you can not see who is on your left ore right site.
It's the hood on TV. But if you are in VR then the cockpit. Regarding visibility, in VR you need to remember that everything is to scale...you are IN the car. When I sit in my real life car and drive my actual windshield is like a 60 inch tv 2 feet in front of my face. In VR the windshield is actual size so your not really losing visibility the same way you would be on a television. Plus you can actually turn your head to look around you .
When i was a kid I always played 3rd person. Once I started driving real cars, I started to try out cockpit view and now it's the most enjoyable way to play for me. Even when I'm blinded by the sun, or catch that tiny bit of a corner.
So there’s not 2 bumper cams. There’s a roof cam, and a bumper cam. PD shouldn’t be calling this game a “real driving simulator” when we can race competitively in these ridiculous views. Doing campaign, lobbies, free runs… sure, use whatever. But anything competitive should be interior view only. I think it’s absolutely stupid you can do a weekly race, or some other ranked racing, on the roof. That’s dumb
I used to always use the 3de person view on racing games. But on gt7, i love the cockpit view. Altho I think that the bumper view has the best vantage point.
I'd say i use the bumper cam 95% and cockpit 5%. 3rd person should only be used for replays and the roof cam is really annoying, i mean who ever drives with their head out the roof?? Bumper, roof and 3rd is all we had from the first GT and naturally you want to be as close to the tarmac as poss
F1 i always use roof looking down, I get better apex accuracy, however I use bumper on gt7 as I like the information centre of screen, better d pad control experience, I have used cockpit but some of the vgt type cars are a bit crap for visibility
In Cockpit, always adjust your seat for max visibility. And yes he's right. Not enough adjustments. In VR, you have to find the sweet spot by moving around, resetting driving position. But now it's limited...
Agreed, cockpit view is the simulation view. Any other view just becomes unrealistic. next iteration needs option to change the FOV, seat adjustments, pitch and triple monitor support and more fine grain FFB options - this is one of the main reason i prefer ACC and iRacing on the PC even though the graphics doesn’t look as easy on the eye as GT7. even though i’m a PC guy, i do enjoy a occasional GT7 session. imagine this gets ported to the PC….
Beyond wrong on the cars. 3rd is nice to see who is near you. Hood is probably the best for being on your line. In car is best for VR. Bumper cam is for OG’s 🤣
My problem with cockpit view is that it doesn’t do a very good job replicating the level of visibility you get in real life. It only makes sense in VR and with the three screen setup
Wow people really are obnoxious. 3rd person view is how racing games were born, first off. That's how I started racing games in the 80's with games like Test Run 2, Out Run. That's how Mario Kart was made, that's how F-Zero was made too, and how Gran Turismo 1 was made??? Hello? This is a classic and nostalgic view that us vets will always love and for good reason. Second, there ain't nobody on this comment thread good enough to compete in GT Academy, so this elitism sim racing BS is just that, all BS. With all the sim racing options and peripherals now available you still aren't good enough to get paid for this so, joke is on you for even trying to force your preferences onto others, LOL. Play the game however you want, enjoy playing in the views that you like. I myself like playing all of them. They all offer a different perspective. When cockpit view was introduced as a standardized option, I was definitely beyond happy. But it's sad that people try to force this on other people from, what it seems like, sim racing elitism. Well you can go ahead and F-Off, I'll play any damn way I please, so good luck LOL.
I prefer and play only with VR cockpit view. YEs it's missing some key hud elements like ranking, like lap times...etc but it's the most realistic view. When you get this experience, it's really difficult to go back to the flat view.
I bought a vr2 a few weeks ago. I have just one word for it.. WOW..! It completely changed the game, it unlocked the full potential of the game imo…WOW.!!
I raced for 1 year in Bumper view in GT Sport And GT7, often being faster than my friends racing cockpit view. But for authenticity I decided to start racing Cockpit view as we're trying to simulate racing, not cheat at it at the cost of our immersion? Now i race entirely in cockpit view in all sim racin titles and love it. Within 2 weeks I was just as fast as I was in Bumper view.
If it claims to be a sin there should only be cockpit view! If it’s an arcade racer then fine, chase cam should be available. So that makes GT7 a arcade racer in my Books! Chase view in GT7 also looks rubbish compared to Forza 8, but cockpit in GT7 looks the best. IRacing has it right, only allow cockpit view or don’t call it a sim

I drive in car , I don't use helicopter view
There is only one camera angle. VR.
Thanks
Why not rotate through the cameras? For track limits third person can be helpful
my fastes laptime at the Nordschleife in cockpit view = 6:16,733 In a Audi RS5 Turbo DTM""19 PP 821,56 ( Race Soft )
Nice!!
Btw do you wear gloves when racing on the G pro ?I used to because my first TM wheel was alcantara and you had to wear them so got used to racing like that but have recently swithed to no gloves and much more comfortable for long sessions .I only run mine at 7 or 8 nm tho with minimal trueforce
no gloves bro
Bumper cam. I have used it since GT1
if you arent using VR then irrespective of how fast you are you are playing a game, VR IS simulation, it is the upper tier now and i suspect the great leveller, anything lower than VR isnt credible any more IMO
appreciate that might sound elitist and many cant afford the VR but if you fancy yourself as a sim racer then it HAS to be VR and imo the GT OFFICIAL race stuff should force the drivers to use it
Sadly GT7 is a console game aimed at kids as well as adults so the game now blurs the line between sim and arcade game but it’s roots are a game not a sim. I love the fact I don’t need to buy a £2k PC to play in VR now and GT7 has absolutely nailed VR sim racing since the February upgrade but it’s great that everyone gets to race together. I wish we could have VR only races though too
the best camera angle is the one gt7 doesn't have which is dashboard no wheel view, like other sim racing games has
Visuals, sound and immersion is best on cockpit. So i only drive that view, but its slightly slower and sometimes its harder to see.
3rd person is the best my far hands down you can beat it
I used to use bumper cam in GTS (not the roof cam which he also called bumper cam), but since switching to cockpit cam in GT7 the level of satisfaction and enjoyment has rocketed, when you can see the cars next to you or just in front of you from within the cockpit when you're racing close, the sense of immersion is immense which makes it so much more enjoyable, can only imagine how good VR must be
Third person because of the wider field of view.
When nasty drivers are trying to ram me, I can usually see them setting up and try to avoid them.
When I watch motorsports we view the event, usually not from the in car camera.
When I'm watching, I'm learning.
W i do the same thing for this exact reason
The corners are hard enough to see when you're racing an F1, I can't imagine trying to play in first person with that kind of speed.
Cockpit view, moving on ..
You can adjust camera stiffness for 3rd person
I wish polyphony would add field of view adjustments similar to Acc I like cockpit view simply for the realism
Dimmer switch for gauges *!
Yes, more zoom in option on cockpit view would be great
You should try to make a comparison test between each. Like how much the steering and brakes and handling changes from view to view. I bet it's at least 20% gain on the bumper cam lol
Do laptimes with the different views and see how much it actually impacts
Bumper is faster usually
Psvr2 for me,no mor flat scren.
VR
I use the cockpit for realism, but the roof calm view is the easiest/most advantageous to drive from. I have never been able to drive any game third person....kudos to you if you can. Zero realism though. Same with bumper cam.
I use the hood cam mainly but recently i’ve been transitioning to vr so cockpit view
damn vr masterrace!
@@Kireth tryna be lol trying to get over the motion sickness i cant go over 2 daily race Cs without wanting to puke so looking for solutions for that hahaha
I agree completely. Excellent.
excellent....
Tbh i play with a t150 T3pa Playseat Evo.
I play only on psvr2 and it feels like i get a huge disadvantage over Flatscreen players... but i take it im used to it now...
I hate when people complain about camera angles.. I wish i could drive in 3rd person in competitive racjng it would be nice to see my car for what it is
No kidding, I have the honor of being absolutely the fastest controller user when they do GT academy. (still slower than the wheel guys) I drive in 3rd person for that.
Steering wheel with clutch, cockpit view, the 2nd automation look like... dang! like it but, the view you are choossing, it is belong to you, personnaly, really dont care, you are talented? U have fun, while playin' ?That's-it couz. Let's having fun!
Vr no hud
My personal favourite its Cockpit Wobble 2 camera
A LOT OF MOVING
So there’s not 2 bumper cams. There’s a roof cam, and a bumper cam.
PD shouldn’t be calling this game a “real driving simulator” when we can race competitively in these ridiculous views.
Doing campaign, lobbies, free runs… sure, use whatever.
But anything competitive should be interior view only. I think it’s absolutely stupid you can do a weekly race, or some other ranked racing, on the roof.
That’s dumb
I used to always use the 3de person view on racing games. But on gt7, i love the cockpit view. Altho I think that the bumper view has the best vantage point.
can't imaging drivers sitting on their rear wing, i race in cockpit but hé that's me.
if bonnet view had a rear view mirror it would be perfect
goat view
I prefer the roof/hood cam since I don't have PSVR yet. I like cockpit cam in PCVR games though.
Bro litterally skipped the most iconic view of them all 0,o the lower bumper what?? 0,o
I wish they had cockpit in front of the steering wheel like in WRC 10. Truthfully it’s WAYY better than regular cockpit
I wish gran Turismo had more customization in the camera. It would make it way better for racing
I like the mirror so I do front bumper. I would be nice if roof cam had a mirror. They really need to fix that. Make it PS5 exclusive if you have to.
If it claims to be a sin there should only be cockpit view! If it’s an arcade racer then fine, chase cam should be available. So that makes GT7 a arcade racer in my
Books! Chase view in GT7 also looks rubbish compared to Forza 8, but cockpit in GT7 looks the best. IRacing has it right, only allow cockpit view or don’t call it a sim
Cockpit view isn't just a camera option, it's a way of life.
When I play single mode I always used cockpit view. When I do online races I have to change to front bumper to stay competitive.
