I’m a small TH-camr with 3 channels so it’s a lot of work lol but when I first started i put everything together but I didn’t see growth so when I separated them by niche, one of my channels started growing that way
You’re so right Naomi. I experienced the same thing. Niching down really does clarify what the channel is about and gives your audience clarity about what they’re subscribing to. I’ve started doing this too and am also seeing the growth. It’s exciting to see the evolution happening! Wishing you all the best
Great video having multiple channels is a lot of work girly. An I’m new to your channel. Some how you randomly came across my channel but I love it. I have to check out our other channels. Love that Over 40 shirt.. 45 here
Thank you so much Samelia, and yes multiple channels is a lot of work! Especially with all the other things on our plate in life and business. Thanks for stopping by! I've checked out your channel too - I spy a little Yorkie and a mention of vegan! I think we can be friends! Lol!! Have a great day!
This video is so helpful! I am wanting to start a channel for my business and one to just be myself and include life discussions, travel, vlogs, hauls,… aka a bunch of random adhd content. My business is beauty so I think it would be smart to have a channel for beauty lovers and another for audiences who want to just go on the journey of life with me! I think you are very informed and give such concise advice of the pros and cons of multiple channels. You have a new subscriber!
Thanks for clarifying this! Great philosophy behind it. I'm going against the advice and going to start off with at least 3 😬. Not super scared about it though because I'm not giving myself any schedule. I just have a number of quite varied interests similar in this way to you. Another thing for me too is I'm not necessarily consistent with with my interests; I rotate through them as I get new ideas and get excited about the next thing I'm going to do. This allows me to keep myself interested in each topic while maintaining a non-confused audience. Good luck on your channels!
I would prefer to see a sub channel approach from YT and one where videos can be moved from sub-channel to another sub-channel. All my videos are about my favourite things and I have them now split over multiple channels which is a hassle. Personally I wish the algorithm was intelligent enough to offer them to people correctly (I have noticed that the offered results often are so confused to whether it is for a Photoshop audience or a video editing audience or to an Affinity Photo audience. They are all basically the same thing to me but for the YT audience, a Photoshop video offered to an Affinity Photo audience is of no interest and then gets zero traction. So yes, channels for each software is my approach now. Just wish I didn't have to do that. Notice that over time it does generally work out the audience for that video but it tends to be a year or two and then they get a lot of views. You should be able to have videos about Photography and content creation and windsurfing etc all in the same channel, the algorithm should be smart enough to send the right videos to the right audience - Photography enthusiasts on your channel should only see those videos. I am not convinced YT does it that well. Maybe I am wrong on that.
I'm glad it gave you clarity! It's best to keep things as simple as possible for your viewers. So they become accustomed to the kind of content you share on your channel!
Your microphone has a problem I think. When I listen on my stereo speakers, no other channel gives an echo. I listen/watch all channels from my laptop through stereo speakers. Many more do the same I am sure. Due to several reasons. You need to be away from the microphone I think and speak from a little distance or change the mike. Any one else has the same issue? I do so enjoy your lifestyle channel too, but separating them makes so much sense!
Thank you Alison! And yes, it feel so much more organised doing it this way!
I see you're using a good mic. but why is the sound muffled ?
Sounds like the base is turned up.
So I was troubled with this also but I now think it’s easier to be organized with separate channels !! Ty ❤
