I Saw your video and I had to think twice. But I decided to do it because I was talking about too many things and decided to divide them. The new channel is all about home decor, gardening, thrifting and the other channel, I do topics about nursing in Europe, life in Denmark/Europe and I have no problem because on the new channel am focused on just the three things. But its hard. But who know the new channel might do better. Good luck to those planning to start another channel😊
I'm in the same boat, I want to talk about all kinds of things that interest me and develop video editing skills but there's no way I can make 100 different channels. I had always thought niche channels encourage success but as a viewer, I hate it when people have different channels.
why would anyone hate that ? if the topics are very different, I would expect subscribers to be annoyed if they keep getting notified of things they have no interest in
Thanks for this perspective. You’re one of the few TH-camrs that talked about the challenge of having to maintain a 2nd channel. Love it. Helping me figure it out what I want to do for my own channel.
Great! This is exactly where I am in my discernment. I relate completely and you inspired me to go for it: combining it all into one channel! Subscribed. Excited to see your journey.
I think the key is structured growth. YT is a slow burn for most people. There are some ppl with multiple channels crushing it but they don't diversify until the 1st channel can fund the growth... they tend to start with 1 and then when that blows up, channel the revenue into building a team to help with some or all of the aspects of the new channels. ps don't dump the new brand it sounds good, will still be viable later
00:00 🎥 Running multiple TH-cam channels can be extremely challenging, especially if it's not your full-time focus. 02:33 🤯 Juggling multiple channels led to confusion, paralysis, and ultimately, little to no content production. 04:13 💡 Sometimes, creating a new channel stems from a desire for personal expression or a break from the usual content. 05:10 🚫 Overloading yourself with too many projects can lead to burnout and hinder success. 06:36 📌 Streamlining and focusing on one channel can lead to more enjoyable content creation and better audience engagement. 07:29 📈 Despite challenges, transitioning to a single channel allows for more personal content and a deeper connection with the audience.
Yaaaay, I am new here. This is so good I think it takes so much courage to come to the desision of integrating all your ideas and your self in one channel. I am not oa big channel and already went through the "I'll have 2 channels one for my business and other for my own stuff" and got burned out preety quickly without even starting haha soooo this video of yours helped me a lot, congratulations!! I'm definetly subscribing ❤
Here because i’m in the same situation! I’ve been at this crossroads for a long time to the point that - like you said - I got paralysis and ended up doing nothing! I did try to incorporate more of my own personal work alongside my main brand / channel once, because I too hate the idea of talking about the same thing every single time. However the merge just ended up not going so well. So although i know it would be a lot of work trying to manage two channels, I don’t know if there’s a way to make everything work with just one…i have yet to see too many creators bridge this gap in a satisfying way when it comes to pivoting or incorporating their personal lives alongside their brand. I don’t intend to upload weekly on both channels, but I’m having this problem so often because I’m interested in so many different things that at this point it’s worth a try.
Yes, no matter what the creators or audience wants...it seems like the algorithm has the final word. So you have to make content for it, first, everyone else second.
Thank you for your share!!! I weirdly ended up with two channels - I did not create the second one so I am at a loss as to how it came to be!!! I have a lot of personal videos and playlists for PCC on the original - and the new one has the newer Portland Community College videos I've created for PCC. Your insights helped me decide to only have one. And I am wondering if it is okay to have personal images of family, slideshow with music - do I make them public??? Argh - I am back at square one!!! LOL Looking forward to get to know your content!
I'm here in 2024, small channel that's been focused on a niche topic and i want to expand my topics and post other kind of videos too but was worried about the algorithm not liking that .. But this video helped me change my mind, im still small so im throwing caution to the wind and and just gonna post whatever I want and hopefully my subs will stay with me😮
yes this. my overly computerized brain that causes me to overthink things [ i have projects dating back to pre-tower destruction ] ive been on this for like a year. wondering if the algorithm would tank me and not suggest my vids to anybody because they cover 3 or 4 topics. i envy people that can just do things without thinking it through
whoa. same... only, i'm just starting and feeling like this. TOO many ideas can be overwhelming. thank you for this warning about too many channels. i will definitely put everything all in one.
Thanks for sharing this! I’m a musician but I also talk about anxiety, I’ve just split up my channels and I thought it would make more sense, so I unlisted my music videos on this channel and reupload to a new but now of course they have no views or engagement, debating changing it back but also don’t want to confuse things too much ahhh (also subbed)
I gave you a subscribe. You deserve one. I can exactly relate to what you're talking about. I've been thinking of starting up a TH-cam channel myself, but I've already got a lot going on. Maybe I'll just get it started slowly and at least begin the process. Last thing I need to do is put more pressure on myself.
Great video... and irony had me LoL... opposite perspective... one variety channel and feeling blocked because audience is so broad I don't want to bore any one audience, have been considering second focused channel for pro content, keep orig for personal/hobby/whatever, whenever. Not sure so searching yt for perspectives, found your vid. Thanks again, interesting perspective to consider.
3:42 - story of my life! ha! - This whole video resonated in many ways! The inner monologue is real. I'm with you on simplifying things... In my case, I think playlists are the way to go. Well see! :)
Hi from Brazil! I was wondering if I should create a new youtube channel...but your video really helped me to see that it's not easy to manage multiple channels. I work with IT projects and I manage my channel and my wife's channel...so it's almost 3 jobs/projects. A new channel?! No...It's clear it's better to focus on one thing, once the content I would have in the second channel is related to what I have in the current channel. Thank you for sharing your experience!
You haven't posted for a while I just started watching u a few days ago and I am interested. You should keep posting. I just his 1k on my other page and people asking for videos is the only thing that has motivated me. So I hope asking u to post more does the same for u.
I'm torn myself. I have a channel that focuses on one thing (working on cruise ships), and have been cotempleating (overly) about a second that focused on another (living abroad in Japan). However, the content is similar, yet different, yet is it different enough to constitute another channel? They are both about travel and living/wroking abroad, however the timelines are a year apart. One channel posts videos still from a year ago (because I have so many to catch up), and the other have been created within the month. Still, I keep flipflopping back and forth to either have the one with two timelines and 'different' content, or have two...?
I was in between on making multiple channels for things I’m interested in. But then I realized my phone number can’t be verified with other channels so I just decided to make multiple playlists on my channel to organize everything & it makes things more easier
Great decision! I'm in a similar situation, but not with TH-cam. I have two IG accounts: one for design and art, and another one more photography and lifestyle related. AND, I have a Threads account which is related to the second IG account. What I've been thinking lately is that I should have another Threads account for the design and art stuff or keep it simple and have just one Threads for everything. As you I've been thinking a lot and been paralyzed...too over thinking. Deep there, I think I want to have just one because I'm not a company, I'm a person and it's all connected. And I'm kind of tired of accounts and profiles that show just one topic. I love to consume content as back stage, work in progress, lifestyle....I saw a video a few days ago that a man said that what make us unique is humanity. That is what makes everything more interesting. Raw business content is boring. I wish you success and have a great week!
Hello, I hope you are doing better. I watched the entire video and I can see you were even at this point very stressed. I was listening to this other guy who made the same remarks about his business in You tube and its the same thing that happens to a lot of us. Chasing rabbits is not very productive specially if you know there are too many of them. I wil follow you and I know that winners will ONLY be defeated by their will power.💯
I needed this video I been uploading different niches and is working good but then I started thinking is it good for me to have a lot of niches but after watching this I really think having a lot of niches is totally find that’s what makes us
OMG Someone finally said what I'm going through but I had no idea how to express that so THANK YOU! And to myself I say see momma we are not alone ! You truly rock it's not easy to get in front of a camar push record and while your smiling let the world in on this type of mental tug of war😅
OK, so I have a new channel that is just getting off the ground. It's under the topic of wine and being a SOmmelier. I want to do a similar channel for Beer Experts (Cicerones) and Liquor/Spirit Experts and my question is if I should create a new channel for each? My wine channel is up and going, and the title fits, so if I were to add beer or liqur content, it would not fit the wine name. How would I structure a channel like this, or do I use multi channels and one for each? Thanks
I would say this is a great video Kamila - great video is something what you are looking for - i have small YT channel but that is in Telugu (an Indian language) - I am a Medical doctor and do not have time for a second channel - so instead of starting a new channel in English - i just want to rebrand my small (700 subs and average 150 to 300 views) channel and start the content in English - can you suggest me how TH-cam algorithm will treat this language change
I'm Christian and Conservative, and I love cattle, so I probably need 2 channels. Those topics aren't related at all unless there are some religious political cattle that we don't know about

I have a question.
Did TH-cam see both channels independently or as one in association with your account?
What I mean is, did the views and subs for both channels add together for a larger total of views and subs on your account?
I'm thinking of making 2 or 3 channels based around the same subject matter, health and fitness and nutrition.
I could actually put some of my videos on all three channels or just on two of them because everything essentially crosses over with each other.
But I'm wondering if the subs and views for all 3 channels would add together to get me to the 1000 subs and 4000 hrs goal in order to start getting monetized sooner.

Well you don't have to tie a TH-cam channel to the same Google account.
Might as well try and see
I’m thinking about making 3 TH-cam channels that are showing 3 different things. Would you recommend using 3 different emails?
Also how would payment from TH-cam work if I’m using 3 different emails?
Btw I have plenty of time as I’m unemployed so maybe I’d be able to do this.

You can have the same Adsense account for all I *think* but I’d check on that. My other channel wasn’t monetized yet so I’m not sure on that one. B
