    Crazy how the Kpop industry mirrors everything Lou Pearlman did. Having them train for years before their debut, not letting them have any money until their debts have been payed, multiple groups under the same management debuting at the same time.

      Yes but, a key difference is that it is hard as hell to even get out of a contract with Korean companies. There’s so much that goes into it and not only that but they are way more strict in general. New groups can’t contact family or friends, a lot of new groups don’t even have self phones or if they do they share one. Also fan service is very tight which makes it hard for dating/ freedom. KPOP is built differently

    • @jakeylakey619

      It’s so strange how this tactic still works after ALL of the examples from the music groups of the 50s & 60s. With artist in the 80s thru to the 2000s also. Maybe it’s cultural because all the Black groups & bands back then had this problem. The movie The Five Heartbeats showcases this. TLC, the most popular girl group encountered this with LaFace Records (Babyface & his wife). Toni Braxton too under the same label. Puff Daddy is known for it. I think creatives/artists are so eager for the fame and entrapped with the glitz and glam, they forget to cross their t’s and dot their i’s. I think most feel they’ll go through that struggle in hopes they’ll have an “successful” outcome like N’Sync or Justin himself. Even with the sexual perversion and essentially being high end escorts. Maybe it’s worth it to some 🤷🏽‍♀️. Couldn’t be me though.

      That's not true and just rumor people made up and spread around the internet. The actual lyrics of it weren't written or inspired by him. It was written by Swedish songwriter Andreas Carlsson for his girlfriend who dumped him to marry another guy. He wrote it for another boy band, but they rejected it, so shopped it around and N'sync bought it. The guy's ex it was written for stayed married to the guy for decades, raising a family, so she probably feels her saying bye bye bye was a good decision.

    • @darlingdeb7010
      @darlingdeb7010 2 ปีที่แล้ว +41

      @@betsybabf748 they picked the song as a symbol. To N'sync, this song was saying goodbye to Lou. I'm sure it was written to mean something different, but the reason behind why they picked and and what it meant to the band was something completely different. It's not a rumor, the band actually explained these things.

Unbelievable that these guys who seemingly had so much fame on the outside were dealing with this bs behind the scenes. This comment reminds me of the popular twilight years when I was in school and people would fight insanely over team Edward or Jacob. The fighting, the drama, the betrayal, the broken friendships. It was nuts. I wasn’t into twilight so it was quite a sight to behold.
      If I grew up in the time of NYSYNC vs BSB I would’ve been like you probably, an *NYSYNC person who secretly likes BSB xD I like songs from both but definitely prefer *NYSYNC ✨

    this actually really opened my eyes, like holy shit… I get that he’s a victim of Hollywood himself, but what really makes me mad is that when it’s all said and done, you’d think Justin, after having experienced getting royally fucked over by the industry, would’ve had some grace towards Britney and Janet and would’ve done his best to defend them to prevent them from going down the same path, but nah. He allowed those women to get fucked over the same way he did - Janet was literally blacklisted in the industry and nearly lost her career because he let her take the fall, and then we saw Britney lose damn near everything because he did his best to paint her as the bad guy post-breakup in his music AND thru the media. this really made me look at him differently.

    • @amberhastings5612
      @amberhastings5612 2 ปีที่แล้ว +76

      Absolutely! 100%! Every time I hear "Cry Me a River" on the radio, I think; for God's sake, never play that song again - play a Britney song every hour, on the hour, and give that girl some dignity (not to mention $ her family stole). That song should be forever nixed from radio playlists.

      @@amberhastings5612 I saw this a few weeks ago on TH-cam and I have to tell someone ha. A few years ago JT hosted SNL, and literally in one of the skits, he f*cking mocks Britney for the same thing. He adds a completely unnecessary comment into the skit (which has LITERALLY NOTHING to do with sex or Britney or anything like that). It was so obviously a written line, which also means so many people saw that before the show and thought it was okay. Disgusting.

    I loved NSYNC and Backstreet Boys! I still do. I knew that everyone has always said "Pick which is better: BSB or NSYNC". I could never choose one over the other. I thought it was all just for the Press, media, Hollywood, etc. I never knew about this story. I also wouldn't have guessed that the No Strings Attached album was about this. After hearing the story, it makes alot of sense. I had also always wondered how the bands formed and why they were so similar. Now I know. Thank you for sharing this story, Kendall. I'm glad to see you are back.

    I was obsessed with the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears as a kid and I knew about most of this that was available knowledge at the time, so many artists have “breakup” songs that weren’t even about romantic relationships but about cutting ties in their professional lives at that time and even recently.

    Yes girl, I was team backstreet all the way. Then when I was 16 we drove to Florida and I took a Nsync album and fell in love with them and realized that I could like both. Great video. ❤️

    I can definitely tell you were a BSB fan by the way you said *NSYNC last names. Anywho, it is wild that still today this rivalry among fans (who are good and grown now) lives on. Also, those of us who were older teens and fans knew about Lou and all the shits.

    I loved both boy bands, but I was an *NSYNC girl at heart. Once I heard the allegations that he manipulated and abused those boys, it broke my heart bc they were just young kids.

      Lou was the Dan Schneider of boy bands with that inappropriate touching..

    I was OBSESSED with Nsync. I watched their Disney channel concert dozens of times and my first ever CD was their first album. I squealed when I unwrapped it on Christmas morning, I didn't even have a CD player but I was so excited. My mom gave me my first CD player later that day. Gotta love divorced parents lol.
    My best friend was a BSB fan and we argued about it a lot but we remained friends. I still liked BSB just not nearly as much as Nsync. I still listen to both groups sometimes, I have a playlist called nostalgia that is full of late 90s and early 00s pop music.
