I like how budget gaming a few years ago was getting the game to open and run without stuttering and now it has evloved to 1080p high and even ultra 60 fps
It's still quite an expensive laptop but yeah, it offers good quality in gaming for the money you spend on it , compared to other trashy overpriced laptops.
Thank you for making this detailed video. I appreciate the work. I own this model, and have a few comments to make. First, when you are testing the fps you're getting, try to keep the scene consistent if you are testing different settings for the same game. Second, if you have an in-game benchmark system available, use it, because it typically tests different taxing and non-taxing scenarios instead of sticking to one particular part of the game where you might be getting lower or higher fps compared to what you're going to get on an average. Third, it is perhaps good to always show the most taxing scenes in a game because that will indicate the worst-case performance of the rig (this is why you'd typically use an in-game benchmark if available).
This are great suggestions and definitely will tell you how the laptop performs. Do you play warzone? The video is kinda short for me to have an idea but if you do play can you share your experience and does it have any issues? I really want to buy this (although its 2022) because its on sale here. However, if you cannot find a proper benchmark for Warzone, you can look for a laptop with 1650ti and other similar specs, on which Warzone has been tested. One thing is for sure is that this laptop will perform quite a lot better compared to that laptop.

I have this same laptop but with 6800H. I use my laptop for a lot of AutoCAD design work and gaming like Halo Infinite and Smite. This laptop is a BEAST! You can play almost any game at max settings as long as your laptop is on performance mode. The average CPU temperature I get is about 63C which is amazing. The fans on this laptop and definitely keep your laptop cool under every condition.
To anyone trying to get this laptop, i just got it a day ago. If you want to play Warzone im definitely getting 120fps-150fps on rebirth etc, with slight drop to 100fps. This thing is a beast. I just turned off balance mode and put it on performance mode, i barely adjusted settings on the game it self. Hope this helps

But you might be right i did a lot of looking into the lenovo legion 5 and for the price and whatnot chose the 3050 ti but then again im new to pc

Yes it's a solid laptop for it's price, even if the 4gb seems short nowadays it runs pretty much every major modern game with exeption on some title you have to lower settings a little bit. For the CPU temp yes sometimes on cpu heavy games it reaches 9x°C but i have to precise that the test condition was not the best to allow a better ventillation and without using a cooling pad, so the temperature may vary in better condition and you can use cooling pad too. The laptop overall is really fast well built good screen, not too heavy for a gaming laptop i would say probably the best for that price.
@Ansh Chaudhary Yes it does. You can disable the IGPU by disabling hybrid mode. Well the 3050 ti on legion 5 is have the max tdp of 95W, also the processor R7 5800H is very powerfull when you combined both it gives you a good performance.
I seen alot of hate on the RTX 3050 ti because of its short vram. At first i feel disappointed and regreted buying this laptop, But for me This laptop offers a great performance for its price even tho it's only 4gb vram you still get dlss and ray tracing for a great price! Might recommend this laptop if you want to get dlss features for a great deal!

Dlss is meant to raise 1440p and 4k by pulling image data from a lower resolution image (1080p and 1440p) and builds back close to the native resolution as possible. So 1080p pulling from a lower quality is just pointless, unless you really want those frames.
Because 4gb vram is joke these days. Even 860m and 960m has 4gb vram and they're from 2014!!! Under 6gb is worthless if you want to play any game on high or ultra settings without stuttering and without worrying about future. Imo even 6gb is becoming obsolete when you consider how much vram consuming games has become in recent years...
MrAlternation The 3050/Ti got a lot of complain about the 4gb vram wich is a little bit short in 2021 specially for a high ultra settings, but honestly after testing both 3050 and 3050 ti they are not that bad , the performance is good for the price without forgetting the dlss wich give them a huge boost.
Because the vram is bottlenecking in basically every AAA title. The fps is decent for the price agreed but it could've been better just by adding 2GB vram. And the weird thing is they used to have 6GB vram in previous generation cards like GTX 1660ti, which should perform worse than RTX 3050ti and does in most esports titles, but it performs better in AAA games just because the memory in 3050ti starts bottlenecking. Its really sad they could've made the best budget friendly gpu in the history of gpus but just chose to exclude 2gb of vram.

I have the same specification but I had an issue with cyberpunk 2077. when I set all to ultra settings the average fps is 28 and its worse cause sometimes it drop to 10-15. but why when I watch this video is so smooth like 40 fps is still playable unlike 20s
Nice one I feel PPL expect too much from an entry level GPU Hardware unboxed was literally laughing about it not being able to even chose max Settings in valhalla. And I am here being super happy about actually being able to get super smooth 1080 p on Medium or high. Its such a huge boost over previously used entry level gaming gpus for Laptops. What worries me are the CPU temps over 90 is not good for a long run. And even in Budget System cooling should be a priority. And its a Ryzen not the Intel furnace so kinda surprised by the bad temps on the CPU. But Legion absolutely kills it with their price to performance value.
this is exactly what i'm telling people. Budget laptops back in the previous two generations would struggle just to play low settings on most of modern games of their time. This laptop is phenomenal in its gpu performance and for it being only $1k is a steal. I'm able to max out witcher 3 with all nvidia features on max and still get over 60 fps. If it weren't for the lack of VRAM this would have been a keeper for me unfortuanetly the lack of VRAM is its biggest CON. but otherwise a great laptop.

As from my experience of benchmarking laptop on different games on my channel you should go hp victus over legion as this has only rtx 3050ti hp victus has rtx 3060 which has more vram ❤️
I have a ryzen 7 5800h with a rtx 3080... but i never have seen my cpu load even close to 90% in cyberpunk.. wth. Mine usually sits around 50 at times up to 70ish.

Please help me I've been frustrated with this issue since I got my laptop (i5 11260 3050 ti 8gb ram) I'm only getting 80-90 fps on Valorant max. Yesterday I got up to 110-120 but thats the only time my gpu has gone over 25 watts of power while playing Valorant.

I’ve got this same laptop, I try to run games like forza but I get a bottleneck and my glu is rage goes to ~5% not sure what you did but I haven’t found anything on the matter
Would you recommend this laptop or the MSI GF65 Thin with RTX 3060 Max-Q 75 watt and i5-10500H if both are at very similar price points ? I'm very conflicted between both. On the legion you get a better screen, processor, and I believe a better design, but on the MSI you get a better GPU (not sure if significantly better since it's Max-Q with a little above average TDP) and the MSI is 0.5 kg lower.
All depends on what the use of the laptop is. I would never recommend an rtx 3050 or the 3050ti because the vram handicaps it. With the vram being only 3gbs in the very near future the card will struggle with more demanding games. You can see how the ultra settings on a few of the games were unplayable. What’s your price range? And what do you intend to use it for?
@Shmeef Well the for the storage you have an extra slot to add an ssd nvme, for the ram the maxmimum is 16gb wich i think is enough nowadays, for gaming you wont need more than 16.

A 2060 lappy shall perform much better & to keep up with High and Very High presets it gets additional 2GB Vram.

Dlss ruins 1080p, turns it into sub 720p. If it's doing 1080p 60fps high without dlss, that the best it gets to be.

this is exactly what i'm telling people. Budget laptops back in the previous two generations would struggle just to play low settings on most of modern games of their time. This laptop is phenomenal in its gpu performance and for it being only $1k is a steal. I'm able to max out witcher 3 with all nvidia features on max and still get over 60 fps. If it weren't for the lack of VRAM this would have been a keeper for me unfortuanetly the lack of VRAM is its biggest CON. but otherwise a great laptop.

As from my experience of benchmarking laptop on different games on my channel you should go hp victus over legion as this has only rtx 3050ti hp victus has rtx 3060 which has more vram ❤️

I have a ryzen 7 5800h with a rtx 3080... but i never have seen my cpu load even close to 90% in cyberpunk.. wth. Mine usually sits around 50 at times up to 70ish.

Please help me I've been frustrated with this issue since I got my laptop (i5 11260 3050 ti 8gb ram) I'm only getting 80-90 fps on Valorant max. Yesterday I got up to 110-120 but thats the only time my gpu has gone over 25 watts of power while playing Valorant.
Maybe you should upgrade to 16gb RAM.
try to use ur powerplan to ultimate performance it will use more of ur gpu
I'm gonna guess off the bat your laptoo has single channel 8GB ram, upgrade to 16GB and run it as dual channel, your problems will go away!

Ofc the asus tuf dash 3060 is better for gaming, even if it's a quad core cpu the gpu makes the difference.

Would you recommend this laptop or the MSI GF65 Thin with RTX 3060 Max-Q 75 watt and i5-10500H if both are at very similar price points ?
I'm very conflicted between both. On the legion you get a better screen, processor, and I believe a better design, but on the MSI you get a better GPU (not sure if significantly better since it's Max-Q with a little above average TDP) and the MSI is 0.5 kg lower.
All depends on what the use of the laptop is. I would never recommend an rtx 3050 or the 3050ti because the vram handicaps it. With the vram being only 3gbs in the very near future the card will struggle with more demanding games. You can see how the ultra settings on a few of the games were unplayable. What’s your price range? And what do you intend to use it for?
I went for the Legion 5, it's screen has 100% sRGB coverage and it looks beautiful. I do photography so screen quality leaned my decision

Well the for the storage you have an extra slot to add an ssd nvme, for the ram the maxmimum is 16gb wich i think is enough nowadays, for gaming you wont need more than 16.
