Bro from what i have seen legion never throttles or get those huge fps dips. Just try to check if your GPU is being utilised fully or not

Bro there is definitely small thermal throttling issue but that issue never causes significant performance difference I have played games for over 5 hours straight without a issue and i think that can be easily fixed if you can change your laptop thermal paste after 7 8 months of use from a service center.

Because I ordered a Legion 5 Pro off of Ebay unsealed and I'm really excited to get a similar spec'd laptop to out perform my current desktop that has a 1060 6gb in it.

Legion laptops can for sure bro. Specially because they have mux switch and full powered rtx 3060. And bro believe me when I say you have bought the best rtx 3060 laptop in the market

@@macang4428 You need to check the gpu tgp and ram amount/how many channels are used(2 recommended especially for amd) , my rtx 3060 has 140w tgp and it's Definetly better than a rtx 3050.

But i need to ask a question, do you record the gameplay using the laptop or are you using dedicated pc with elgato to record?
Bro I use nvidia shadowplay to record and that too straight on my laptop so definitely there is some fps drop because of that.

It ranges from 3 to 15 fps depending on the settings used and amount of vram being used. If you are using vram closer to 6gb than fps loss will be more when you using 3gb of vram

Great job and nice video, I just bought the same laptop that you used in this video and I would like to ask you something. I just try play Assassins Creed Unity and the fps are somewhere around 70 till 82 on ultra graphic setting which for me is pretty dissapointing since the game has been around since 2014. When I saw your video, you state that AC Valhalla on max setting are around 60 fps and this leave me wondering how the fps gap between the game that launch on 2014 and 2020 are not that much? Is there any spessific setting you put on your laptop? because I've been put my laptop on Turbo mode but it didn't give me that much effects. Thank you
First of all I am extremely sorry for this late reply as I took a bit of break. On coming to the topid AC Unity is one of the most unoptimised game of the AC saga and if you haven't bought it and got it for free from some website there are really good chances that the game you have installed on your system doesn't have the lastest patches that were released by the ubisoft to improve performance as well. So these might be some of the reasons why you ain't getting the fps that you might have expected from this laptop
Hello friends, I'm Brazilian and I just bought this R7 rtx 3060 notebook on the website, here it has the best price, within this configuration, I paid about R$ 7,650 reais equivalent to $1,390 dollars, the Legion with the rtx 2060 it costs around R$ 8500 reais here, equivalent to US$ 1.545. I still don't know what my screen will be if it's 120 htz or 165 htz, we're looking forward to testing this machine here in Brazil. Your review helped me a lot, thank you.

Edit: Tem diferença de preço (100-200$). E também o amd tem mais autonomia, mas o intel tem um pouco mais de perfomace em jogos. Devo comprar ano que vem meio do ano, talvez até eu mude pra pega a 12th gen, talvez não.

I have the ASUS ROG G15 G513QM with 5800H and 3060 RTX 105-130 TGP but getting 85ish frames at the same area in your vid, I'm on Performance mode though and I tried Turbo with not much difference. Anything you suggest? Keep up the great work btw!
I was running on turbo mode and was using laptop screen only so optimus wasn't disabled

Bro actually I don't have ac installed in my room and since my room is on the top floor of my home. My room temperature usually remain around the real feel temperature outside. When recording this game Ambient temperatures were around 32 to 34 degree

I know this is a late response but the rtx 3060 in this laptop is gimped to a maximum 95watts. There are many other laptops with an rtx 3060 that push higher watts like the Alienware M15 R5 with a maximum of 125 watts and in many cases can push up to 20% higher performance when paired with the 5800h. Just be mindful when shopping for a gaming laptop, The brands do a very poor job of telling you the difference.
Its like double the price... asus tuf is for budget gaming so expect lower performance lower gpu and cpu tdps

Doom Eternal? how did you start it? Me too Asus Tuf a15 with rtx3060 and it doesn't start at all.
Bro for that go to device manager disable your amd graphics card first it's gonna change the graphics for your display a bit. After that open the doom and close it after it game opens up. Enable your amd graphics again everything will go back to normal. And now you doom without any issues until you restart your computer. If you do so than you have to repeat the procedure.

If you can get legion 5 with an rtx 3060 you don't need to wait for legion 5 pro. Personally I won't recommend Dell g15 performance and thermals are quite similar to this laptop of mine. Btw thanks for the support buddy

Bro I have contacted nvidia personally and they told me that till 93 degrees there ain't any issues. Also bro I am playing all these games on laptop and not on desktop. So if you are a desktop user for you things might differ a bit.

Bro try to use turbo or performance more while playing games. Also bro I have seen it myself that there very few games that can cpu reach 95w limit. I think if you turn down settings than as well the GPU wattage decreases so try to play games at maxed out settings + performance/turbo mode

Nope bro. Battery life is still pretty damn good. Also there is a option in MyAsus app where you can set battery charging percentage to 60 percent and it definitely helps with battery life bro

Something's wrong with ur cyberpunk game or the drivers. I have asus tuf dash f15 with 85w tdp and I'm getting 60fps with dlss quality and rtx ultra.... And moreover mine is i5 11300h 4 cores.
The power draw in ur benchmark is less than 70w in cyberpunk so do check that.
Bro it's definitely something wrong with the game. If you some of my previous video I got over 80 fps with the exact same settings. The more I made video about that game the more performance differ from one review to the other one.
Bro cyberpunk is not very optimize that game have many bugs
Because 6Go of VRAM is not enough in Cyberpunk with RTX ON.

This is the same laptop I have, Is 6GB Vram in 3060 enough for every game.
Games like watch dogs legion and resident evil village require over 6 gb of vram when playing with highest possible settings but yes if you don't wanna max out everything then it is more than enough for any game out there.

Bro I never store latest/ demanding games on hdd as it a bit slower as compared to the amazing SSD that tuf a15 has but performance difference will be almost negligible that is about 5 to 10 percent in each game

Go with g15 5900hs with rtx 3060 as asus have high temperatures intel will definitely thermal throttle alot. So that just makes g15 a bit better as it has ryzen processor. Only downside is g15 might have low powered rtx 3060

Thanks for your hard work. I was able to find out that laptops are not worth it for gaming. The fps difference between desktop and laptop is a dealbreaker for me. Moreover, desktop rtx 3060 has 12 GB video RAM whereas laptops have 6. Laptops run pretty much on a disadvantage.
Yeah there is a difference of atleast 30% in desktop and laptop....
Bro it mostly depends on your needs which device you want.. and yes desktop counterparts are better but are being sold at around the price of a laptop...

So even if a laptop with rtx 3060 performs closer to a desktop one, doesn't mean others will perform the same. That's the problem with laptops. You have to pay more for other things.

If you dont have any issues with carrying around 2.5Kg to 3 kg laptop than it will be just fine. But I will anyway recommend you to go with legion 5 pro with rtx 3060 for better performance and longetivty

Recording can increase temperature by at max 2 degrees. Bro I recently uploaded a video that can help you achieve temperatures around 80 to 85 degrees at max just watch it you might losse 2 to 5 fps depending upon the game

I record gameplay's using nvidia shadowplay and for streaming through obs you can use any of the settings suggested by many youtubers when you search for obs settings for streaming

Kinda off topic, but do you recommend always running fans on turbo mode? Its just when i turn it on it sounds very loud and I'm kinda afraid wether or not it can damage laptop, right now I'm running it on auto in a similar laptop from Acer and temperatures do get pretty hot.
Acer have better thermal solution so even auto is good but I will definitely recommend you to go for turbo if you don't find your temperatures being under control. Running turbo ain't never gonna damage your laptop. Those things are made to withstand anything

Thanks for the video. I have the same GPU on my Acer Nitro 5, but my CPU is Intel 11800H. My GPU reaches to 80C and CPU to 90C. Pretty close to your temps.

Bro keyboard area of my tuf a15 have been really cool I have never felt like it is getting warm or anything. And bro in cyberpunk 2077 rtx sometimes make fps inconsistent so I preferred to go for a setting that most people gonna use

Yeah unfortunately the battery isn’t strong enough. Is like the Nintendo switch. Games run and look worse handheld but run and look better docked. That’s the sacrifice for portability.

Bro it's a great laptop specially the intel one for online fps games like valorant, warzone and apex legends. So I don't think you will see any performance difference in that respect. But all you need to take care is that temperature remain below 90 otherwise intel gonna thermal throttle
