My father passed last year and left me this exact car. Color, stripes, and all. The only difference is there's a Shelby signed placard just between the two center A/C vents and another signature under the hood. I'm trying to learn everything possible about it to have respect for it. For any car enthusiast out here who has any advice whatsoever, my mind is open.
I’m sorry to hear that. This car will never fail to put a smile on your face. The 2007 gt500 was the first gt500 ford and Shelby produced since 1969 and it pays homage to the classic in many ways. The car had the 5.4L supercharged v8 from 07-10. They changed it to 5.8L 2011-14. These cars are very special and personally my favorite gen gt500s. I know you’ll enjoy yours.
@@DealAlex The 07-2010 basically had the same motor (the 2010 shelbys were considered the red headed step child since they changed the body but kept the iron block- 2011's introduced the aluminum block). The 5.8 liter trinity motor came in 2013 and was discontinued after the 14 model year. To date the 13/14's with their 662 HP to the crank 5.8l v8 are the only STOCK shelby built by ford that can hit 200 MPH on the track (conditions of both the car and environment have to be absolutely PERFECT though)
@@DealAlex I just drove it a few weeks ago. Almost swerved out of control when letting off the clutch going to 2nd gear just like you did, but I was about to totally lose control on the entrance ramp to the freeway. It fishtailed worse than yours. As crazy as this may sound....it put a smile on my face. It's a learning process I suppose. Also, the paperwork says it is a 2005 Shelby GT. The body style looks almost the same though. Perhaps its different than the one shown here. Either way, that car has some serious power. He absolutely loved that car and worked his ass off for years to finally get a play toy. It goes to my son next if I have my way.
@@scottcolpitts8521 He had a Harley Davidson F-150, but living in CA, I only have two parking spots available. One is for my every day Ford Escape. The other for the GT. Had to sell the truck. My brother-in-law bought it, so it's still in the family. If he were looking at me from above, he would be highly upset had I sold that car. It's definitely something to remember him by. I rode with him in it before and he even wore his Ford racing hat while driving it.
@@DealAlex Love the car I have a 08 gt500 same color. My car was originally owned by Bob Tasca and it has every Ford racing part ever and it I signed by the entire Tasca family and Carroll Shelby and John Force. It has roughly 850hp.My 10 super snake has a little more power but I love my 08.
As an owner of a performance white 07 i am jealous of the red and white cars they are so damn beautiful. Mine was stripe deleted by the previous owner it once had blue stripes. It put down 550 through 4.10 so its at a similar power level...with 4.10s and mickey's out back it is a monster lol. It used to do rolling burnouts in 2nd now it dead hooks even when its cooler out usually. In warmer weather it even hooks 1st pretty good. In cars like this you gotta run drag radials to be able to use the power. The only non drag radial that will hold decent is the r888s if going for a handling build specifically then i would suggest those all around otherwise go et street r those tires are amazing. Ive got almost 3k miles on mine and they still hook good and have decent life left. I dont do burnouts and shit but i do spin em pretty hard on 1-2 powershifts itll leave blackmarks down the road about 10 feet or so long lol. I expect to get a minimum of 5k miles which isnt bad for that kinda tire. If you do tons of burnouts at the track they may not last as long but in a spiritedly driven street car they will last a few thousand if you run proper pressure and take care of em. I run mine at 30 psi they do great. These heavy cars like a little more pressure anyways. That helps you get better life from them too. Sweet ride man also jealous of the stock hid lights that 07s did not have lol. They cost alot of money to buy used (the oem ones) so im just gonna have my lights retrofitted i can have them done and fully customized for cheaper than a set if oem hid lights for a gt500. Btw the eaton is a 2.1 liter its the 03 cobras that had a 1.9 *edit* I just seen where i had already commented on this video few months back my bad haha.
Depends on a ton of factors. Whats your down payment? Interest? How many miles on the car? Condition? Clean title? How many months for the loan? Going to cop a 2007 with only 16k miles (salavage title) for 26k. Only financing 17,600 for 72 months at a payment of just under 300 per month.
I just bought one with 40k miles (clean title, great condition) for 31K. I put 9k down and with a 72 month loan and 2.7% interest, the payment is about 300 a month
Nice video, and thats my problem. Sometimes Id like the grip to get the full speed of a pull but at the sametime its fun to be spinning or power sliding a turn lol
Awesome ride I am jealous of the color white on red is one of the sexiest gt500 colors. Mine is a performance white 07 originally had blue stripes it had been stripe deleted now and has 13-14 style taillights and its lowered on f14 drag wheels 17x7 front 17x10.5 rear I'm running 305/45/17 et street r tires they hook so fn good lol. I have a very similar setup. Mine has a 2.6 upper, stock lower, CJ twin 65tbody, jlt123 cold air, custom 3 inch offroad hpipe and borla stingers. Car has the 800 twin disc clutch in it, mgw shifter with white ball mgw knob. Was tuned by pro dyno of south carolina by previous owner and put down 550 rwhp through 4.10 gears. Car came with 20 inch rovos 10 wide rear with 275 nittostreet tires that didnt hook for shit...mine would do 2nd gear rolling burnouts and even go sideways into 3rd gear with the 4.10s now it dead hooks 2nd gear on a warm road with 0 warm up at 30 psi street pressure when its warm it'll even hold 1st gear from a rolling start the tires are amazing I HIGHLY recommend them. I know this is your daily (mine isnt) so treadwear may be a factor but if you can I highly recommend the et street r. You can kiss traction issues goodbye with those I actually have room to add a decent chunk of power because they are holding my current power amazingly. Nitto has a new drag radial that looks great for the daily guys it is also supposed to come in 305/45/17 and they have all the other popular sizes too. My f14 are gunmetal they look sick on the performance white. I'll have to get some videos up of mine soon.
@@DealAlex it came with the 4.10s in it and I love it. Gets you to 125+ fast that's all I care about anyways lol. It was useless with street tires but with a tire that can hook shes mean on the street from a slow roll lol.

You gotta learn to hold the wheel longer, especially right after you take off, thats how you get the em to slide longer. you straighten up too soon
This is actually good info thank you
Not sure if this was answered or not. Those wheels first arrived in the 2015 or newer Mustang.
