With the 2019 Shelby GT500 being confirmed, sometimes it's fun to revisit the oldies! JD JoyrideTV's Shelby GT500 was a monster four years ago with it's VMP gen 1 supercharger. After going to a whipple supercharger he decided to then go with VMP's Gen 3 supercharger to make right around 800 wheel horsepower on pump gas! This car's supercharger whine is intoxicating, loud, and the car pulls just as hard as a beefed up Dodge Hellcat and pretty close to feeling like a Dodge Demon of today. This Ford might have shown it's age in it's ten year old interior, but everywhere else it still has the Shelby GT500 charm of today.

C-Quick dude I was just thinking the same thing, a guy lives near my shop with the same gen but it’s a BULLITT with stock wheels, but really nice tires and it’s lowered. Man that car looks so good. It’s like simplified in a way and I love the look of the front clip with the chin spoiler and darkened look 👍🏽 definitely hella aged good

My '07 Vista Blue GT is sitting with 215k on the ODO and ya a few scratches and paint chips but when I wax her up in the spring with the fair weather SN95 Saleen style wheels on her, I fall in love all again! Ford really nailed that classic look with the S197

I love this car. The first time around was what made me fully lock in and trade my 08 gt in on an 09 gt500 with fill bolt ons. Most fun I've ever had. And miss her even more after having my first born and needing a more family friendly car.

It'd be less impressive if that was e85 numbers for sure. Stangs are meant to be daily driven racking up miles. My baby gets 85 and that's IT. Its transportation not a dedicated race car.

VMP knows how to make it more aggressive for sure. Love this car and how amazing it sounds! I'm definitely looking at doing this set up to my 2015 S550 50yr Edition.

kalex214 and that's why he'll be stuck at 400 hp with a supercharged engine and mine makes that with a stock engine. He said it wasnt worth it but my buddy swapped his for $6000 which is the same if not cheaper than some supercharger kits. Plus the swap lightens up the front end by over 100 pounds and revving to 8000 rpm is intoxicating

I just finished getting all the mods I spent the last 2 years accumulating onto my Grand Prix GTP. The SC whine is the best thing ever and this video put a smile on my face the second I heard the whine in that car
I fell in love with this whole body style from the original review of this car. I watched that video pretty regularly to remind me to buy one one day. This thing just keeps getting better and better. I will 100% own one of these at some point.

I’m saving rn for one, they aren’t unobtainable at all really, you can get a used one with only 30-50k miles for like 26k.. for the kinda car and possibilities this car can achieve that’s not even a crazy amount haha. Imma wait till I can drop about 15k on the down payment tho so I can pay it off fast.

JD's GT500 has always been one of, if not, my favorite mustangs on any auto channel or the internet in general. Mayhem is the perfect way to describe it. One day I'll own at-least one mustang, currently going to school for auto body (with wielding and estimating classes) I'm hoping to buy a "new" daily after school then save up for a fun car. Always loving the videos please never stoppppppp.
It'd be cool if you drove a modified Fox Body Mustang. Maybe with a swap in it or power adder. I know you drove a pretty stock one long while ago.

The Shelby 1000 is a crazy car.I have a 850 hp supersnake and it runs 10.00 at 140mph.The Shelby 1000 easily will run mid 9s.My supersnake with 850hp can Crack 9s with a perfect run.
Honestly I couldn't imagine 1000hp.My 10 super snake makes 900hp and it is scary fast.No other way to describe it scary fast.
S197 for life. Best bodystyle Mustang. Period. Exhaust is great, and that idle... Oh my.

BuildingCarsisFUN I was a import guy myself. I had Honda’s, EVO and a STi. Fun cars but so expensive to get high HP and very unreliable.

The only reason you'd want to get a GT rather than a 500SS is because you don't want to get into trouble with the law!
When I drive to and from my work on the highway, in my GT with the LeMans stripe, looking smug and all, sometime a 500SS comes stalking behind me, it just feels so uneasy, like being hunted down by a predator. It's just so hardcore!

I got similar car that you reviewed years ago, the S197 2005 GT with Vortech Supercharger, puts up 470whp. I love the car, but twinscrew charger and real shelby would be so good. And my daily driver is S197 with N/A V6, it's very fun car to daily aswell!

That car is sick! I have a 2008 Roush and I absolutely love it. I have been seriously considering getting a 13-14 GT500 because I want the 5.8, but after seeing this video, I am now completely re-thinking that decision haha.
