For that price the controls respond time are a bit slow waiting for the animation, such as the temperature changing to fan speed. I just want instant feedback so I don't have to constantly look back at it to see if I hit the right settings.

When instead of taking one second to open the door now accessing the fridge is a three step process with mulitple possible failure points, brilliant Also the table is semi-automatic but to access something on it you have to swing all the way to the side instead of having it directly in front of you

I have now now owned four Jaguars in the last 8 years and also knows someone that is on their second Range Rover, I can say without a doubt that their vehicles are reliable. Oil changes and tires is all I have dealt with and when you sit in one of these Range Rovers you can see and feel the difference in build quality. This model is a bit over the top but there are people out there looking for stuff like this, and if you can afford it, why not. Been a car guy all my life and while Jag had their problems years ago, I have not had any issues with newer models. Our friend with the Rover regularly takes it off-road when he is hiking in the mountains and skiing in the winter. How cool is it when you can go four-wheeling and be comfortable? Very :)

This is possibly the most beautifully built and upholstered Range Rover ever. It is extraordinarily elegant and luxurious in its designed while still maintaining a very modern and slightly minimalist feel, while simultaneously maintaining the warmth and tradition in its design language .
It is futuristic for sure but god knows how unreliable this vehicle might be after being driven for sometime. This car has tons of weird new and honestly unnecessary technological features that overcomplicate the car.

I think car tech and design has peaked a bit. Going from a 2003 to a 2013 Range was a quantum leap in tech and refinement. But going from the 2013 to this new 2023 is a much smaller step forward.

I was fortunate to take one of this these off road with land rover UK. This thing drove through almost 1m deep water trenches. Its off roading capabilities were astounding.
Gosh I can only imagine all the complexity in motors, software, etc. in this car. And the massive repair bill that will be needed when 1/3 of them fail 7k miles outside of the factory warranty, like in every other Range Rover that I've personally known the owner of...

Knowing me, I would put that table to the test to see just how far I could go with retracting it without pushing it back where it belongs first. I'm sure they have sensors that prevent damaging anything and it probably wont retract if the table is pulled towards the seats, but I'm willing to bet it will drop with the edges flipped out still and just flip them back to closed with force once it reaches the bottom... Also brings another point, I guarantee a bunch of these tables will be stuck up in the future because a sensor will commonly fail preventing retraction and the parts will no longer be available.

I find it hard to imagine Rover discontinuing a sensor like that for the most expensive SUV they've ever made, in just a few years, or even a decade. This thing costs ½ the price of median income home ownership in the US. Someone that spends that type of money on an SUV probably has the funds and the desire to ensure a failed table sensor gets replaced. Rover isn't going to leave that's person high and dry.

Having monitored my portfolio performance which has made a jaw dropping from $360k just the past two quarters alone, I have learned why experienced traders makes enormous returns from the seemingly unknown market.
Last June Doug gave an Escalade V a score of 66, for a $150,000 luxury SUV. Now this RR gets 64 for a quarter of a million. And the Escalade is not even on the chart here but another RR, a top of the line Velar, appears with a 66 score. The Escalade has 682hp vs 525 here, 227" vs 207" here, and almost $100,000 price difference :D

Needless removal of buttons should be considered the antithesis to luxury. I don't wanna navigate thru a screen for every tiny thing. Even if it's right on the main screen i still have to actually look where I'm pressing which is more work than just pressing a button.
I have the 2024 RR 400 mhev. U.K. In my opinion the only minus Factor, ( and it's a big one.) It's like driving a wheeled laptop. Whilst fiddling with the touch screens, eyes are off the road, The trucks are huge nowadays, I don't fancy slamming into the back of one!! Nuff said? Otherwise even @ the price of a small house, the car is brilliant. As they have always been.

As a range rover owner, my one gripe is the multiple actions/buttons you need to press to access certain functions. I love the car, how it drive, the comfort especially on the open road or off road, but something like pressing the camera button which you would assume you display your cameras, but instead it takes you to a screen with a two buttons to turn on the cameras view or access settings. Why not just open the cameras with a button for settings from there?
I had a friend who owned a RR and 90% of the time drove his "spare" car for obvious reasons. As he used to say "well, I have to love it as I was stupid enough to buy it".

The flip-down portal in the front passenger seatback of a Toyota Century (so you can extend your legs and rest your feet up there) might still be one of my favorite luxury features of any car ever made.
The problem is it's a modern range rover. It's not going to be timeless, it's going to be used for a five years at most while it's still under warranty. No one's going to be buying this in 10 years lmao, they'll buy the new ones.
I love this. As for reliability, my Discovery 3 is now 14 years old and I've just had to replace the electronic handbrake module (standard on loads of cars) and the air compressor (£198). Apart from that it's been maintenance stuff. Everything still works. And yes this goes off road on the farm.

A friend of mine had a 2021 Range Rover 3-yr lease. He dismissed the reliability issues due to the warranty and lease length. He estimated he spent 38 hours at the dealership (not including travel time) over that span.

They're used to adjust the armrest into a different position. You spin it right to angle it more upward for your arm and you spin left to have it angle more downward
Would making the driver side rear seat move back opposite of the passenger seat moving forward for the rear passenger mechanically difficult? So both rear passengers can have leg rest access.
What I'm honestly surprised by is they just don't just stretch out the middle like a limo and make both seats equally reclinable massageable etc without touching the front seats when you are being chauffeured you don't really need a million square foot cargo area you just need enough for like two or three luggage it's all about the back seats isn't it? so I kind of feel like it's a bit disappointing with these $200,000 plus SUVs this and the Maybach seems very bland though I prefer this one because the tablet doesn't look like it came from Samsung's parts bin at least this range Rover middle tablet armrest is actually integrated and looks like it belongs to the vehicle using the same software as the infotainment!

I was fortunate to take one of this these off road with land rover UK. This thing drove through almost 1m deep water trenches. Its off roading capabilities were astounding.
Gosh I can only imagine all the complexity in motors, software, etc. in this car. And the massive repair bill that will be needed when 1/3 of them fail 7k miles outside of the factory warranty, like in every other Range Rover that I've personally known the owner of...

Knowing me, I would put that table to the test to see just how far I could go with retracting it without pushing it back where it belongs first. I'm sure they have sensors that prevent damaging anything and it probably wont retract if the table is pulled towards the seats, but I'm willing to bet it will drop with the edges flipped out still and just flip them back to closed with force once it reaches the bottom... Also brings another point, I guarantee a bunch of these tables will be stuck up in the future because a sensor will commonly fail preventing retraction and the parts will no longer be available.
And good luck on the tiny motor once it snags a power cable or usb

And how far into the future will that be? I find it hard to imagine Rover discontinuing a sensor like that for the most expensive SUV they've ever made, in just a few years, or even a decade. This thing costs ½ the price of median income home ownership in the US. Someone that spends that type of money on an SUV probably has the funds and the desire to ensure a failed table sensor gets replaced. Rover isn't going to leave that's person high and dry.

I have the 2024 RR 400 mhev. U.K. In my opinion the only minus Factor, ( and it's a big one.) It's like driving a wheeled laptop. As a range rover owner, my one gripe is the multiple actions/buttons you need to press to access certain functions. I love the car, how it drive, the comfort especially on the open road or off road, but something like pressing the camera button which you would assume you display your cameras, but instead it takes you to a screen with a two buttons to turn on the cameras view or access settings. Why not just open the cameras with a button for settings from there?
I had a friend who owned a RR and 90% of the time drove his "spare" car for obvious reasons. As he used to say "well, I have to love it as I was stupid enough to buy it".

Toyota was giving over half of those luxury features way back in 2006 with the V8 Crown Majesta, truly ahead of it's time.
The flip-down portal in the front passenger seatback of a Toyota Century (so you can extend your legs and rest your feet up there) might still be one of my favorite luxury features of any car ever made.

I love this. As for reliability, my Discovery 3 is now 14 years old and I've just had to replace the electronic handbrake module (standard on loads of cars) and the air compressor (£198). Apart from that it's been maintenance stuff. Everything still works. And yes this goes off road on the farm.

They're used to adjust the armrest into a different position. You spin it right to angle it more upward for your arm and you spin left to have it angle more downward
Would making the driver side rear seat move back opposite of the passenger seat moving forward for the rear passenger mechanically difficult? So both rear passengers can have leg rest access.
What I'm honestly surprised by is they just don't just stretch out the middle like a limo and make both seats equally reclinable massageable etc without touching the front seats when you are being chauffeured you don't really need a million square foot cargo area you just need enough for like two or three luggage it's all about the back seats isn't it? so I kind of feel like it's a bit disappointing with these $200,000 plus SUVs this and the Maybach seems very bland though I prefer this one because the tablet doesn't look like it came from Samsung's parts bin at least this range Rover middle tablet armrest is actually integrated and looks like it belongs to the vehicle using the same software as the infotainment!
