    A tune can give you better throttle response just as well as the pedal commanders. You can always ask a tuner to increase your response time and they will, it can make the car really touchy. Point of reference being well known tuners like Kalob Smith from AMR, the MPT team, and ORTIZ performance. I've had them increase throttle response quite a few times, they've even addressed the topic in emails to me. The pedal commanders do work, but still a tune is just the way to go for the cost, and hey if all someone wants Is the most throttle reaponse then go for it!! Love you car and content, but thats the thing I disagree on given the data and info by those who tune these cars.

    • @WillCollette
      @WillCollette  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I tune with MPT and they have maxed out the throttle response time. It’s not even close to what the Pedal Commander does. Tuning ECU & the communication from the pedal to the ECU are different things. Please don’t reference AMR as a source of information on this page, I wouldn’t personally trust them with anything.

    • @VermillionRacing
      @VermillionRacing 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WillCollette @Will Collette MPT, Ortiz and AMR are some of the leaders in tuning and having the fastest of the 3.7s, and honestly wouldn't doubt any of them when it comes to the platform. They've put more time into them than most anyone else. I also run MPT from time to time. My MPT tune had a much higher throttle response then my original AMR one, but it was increased because I asked them to do so.
      I've used a pedal commander and it simply just felt the same as having a maxed out throttle response on a tune to me. I just couldn't justify using it for the money. But again if you felt a difference then that's all that matters.
      Also just genuinely curious why you dislike amr?

    Hey man I heard that Cold air intakes,Throttle body, intake manifold, etc, are useless is that true?

    • @Slick1r
      @Slick1r 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With this many mods you will most likely need a tune bro. There are cold air intakes that don’t require a tune. I strongly recommend cold air intake because it can make your exhaust sound nicer with a better tone and allowing a much better air flow.
      You can lose or gain power as well. But I strongly recommend if you do all these mods as well as even porting the heads or porting the manifold to definitely get a tune so it can work in harmony with the car itself the way it’s supposed to with gains in horsepower and torque. This is why you tune it bro. To make sure it all works properly the way it’s supposed to. Most people without a tune and cold air intake don’t feel the actual potential in the gains it is supposed to give yourself car.

    • @tatic1066

      @@Slick1r I appreciate it man, that was really helpful 🤙🏼

    • @VermillionRacing
      @VermillionRacing 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, with the 3.7 the cold air intake and throttle bodies are useless. The stock box and stock throttle body give the best performance, rather than spending 600-800 on new ones. A ported intake will actually give you more power is decently worth the price. The only time the throttle body and Cai will help is in a boosted application. You'll be spending a lot of money on maybe 5 horsepower at most

    • @WillCollette
      @WillCollette  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think they certainly help, but they may not need to be the first mod you do. An intake and TB physically bring more air into your engine which can improve performance. But you’ll need a tune and ways to deliver fuel faster too.

  • @VermillionRacing
    @VermillionRacing 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Coming back to this because I keep getting linked this video.
    For anyone wanting to boost a 3.7 to make higher hp and get the best bang for your buck, listen up. Anything im saying here will be the same thing that the veterens of the 3.7 platform, who have been building, tuning and pushing these cars to their limits for over a decade will tell you as well.
    With my mods,
    Ported intakes
    3.73 gears
    AMR turbo kit
    1 piece driveshaft
    ORTIZ tune
    I make 620whp, and have for over 50,000 miles. Turbo is the best way to go on this platform, everyone who has been in the 3.7 game since it's beginning will echo that same sentiment. You can reliably hold up to 650whp on these cars. The procharger kit, unless bought used, is absolutely overpriced for subpar performance in comparison. Unless you modify the kit, youre usually not making much over 450whp with it while spending $7-9k, when the available turbo kits range from $5-7k and will produce more power just as reliably. If you're gonna boost a 3.7, absolutely turbo it. If you're gonna boost a 5.0, supercharge it.
    If you can get a used procharger kit for 2-3k used, then go for it. But for higher power, stick stick with the available turbo kit. However, when you get the kit check the quality of the parts and make sure you get the correct things, and make sure you get all of your parts. That goes for any kit. When you go to get a tune for it, unless youre getting a custom dyno locally, Ortiz Performance is by far the best tuner for the 3.7.
    If any of you want more info, check out the 3.7 group on Facebook. There is a wealth of knowledge there from people, who again, have been building, tuning and racing these cars for over a decade.
    Also to note because i forgot: i make 620whp on my E85 tune, and 589 on my 93 tune. It can make more on both but i sas happy with those numbers.

    Respectfully man, you can throw money at your car by the bucket full but it still going to be a v6. It will never have that mustang sound regardless of any exhaust you try. It will always sound like a 2.9 liter ranger . Racing wise, with the money you throw at t car you could go ahead and get a 5.0 and start off faster than you are now and one last thing.
