Oh my god guys self-esteem is everything. Reaching a high self-esteem has allowed me to become such a positive, loving person. I love humanity. I treat everyone with upmost respect and adoration and usually people show me the same and when they don't I just let it wash over me. I used to be a really arrogant and nasty person and would try to injure others as much as I can but since I have really high self-esteem I gain absolutely nothing from harming others. Raising your self-esteem is all about being aware of your abilities and value, reminiscing on the challenges you've overcome and the inner resources you possess which have allowed you to do so and to stop hiding! Speak your truth unapologetically. Stop hiding who you are to avoid disapproval and criticism. Let go, let loose and be you and live fearless.
DreamBeatsBakery when i see something nasty or something not right, or have an opinion, can i just go ahead and say it on the spot? When someone ignores me, do i say "im talking to you, why are you ignoring me?" Not with rage but with inquiry. I usually find people doing that and other things I really hate, but I just want to expose what I see, is that right?
Amber Zhandt Of course, that's a big part of it. Asserting yourself. It means that your wants, views and opinions are important and therefore demand to be shared. If you avoid calling things out/speaking up you are hiding parts of yourself due to fear of confrontation, criticism or disapproval and that injures your self-esteem more severely than anything anyone could ever do to you. Summed up: "Never avoid doing or saying something for fear of disapproval or criticism from other people."

The one thing i love most about your videos is that they are extremely interactive, and they always keep your eyes on the screen, so I don't think Ill ever get bored learning something from your videos.
The 6 pillars transform your relationships with toxic people. You don't attract their toxic ways of being. And you can be clear and conscious. I don't need to stay away from toxic people because they know that they need to treat me with respect.
This was one of the few books that I had high expectations of - but could not get through because I found it really boring and complicated. Now I can catch the essence of it - in your great animated style - and start putting the teachings in practice immediately. Thanks for your great work. I love it.
I find self esteem a bit tricky. People with lower moral values, non introspective and with out a strong critical judgement *have* high self esteem. On the contrary people with higher moral threshold and strong critical judgement have lower self esteem.
Imho the first type of people you described is an example of ignorants who cant live conscious, rational and happy life - since they ignore the reality and give up reason for emotions, their "happiness" is very chaotic, random and -in most cases - temporary. Branden in his essay "Mental Health versus Mysticism and Self Sacrifice" in Ayn Rand's "Virtue of Selfishness" explains how proper ethics influences one's way to achievment of happines and self-esteem (or rather: how proper ethics is essential to achieve them).
I don't imagine those people are readily happy for the success of others, though. Which would indicate a security in their own life and achievements. They are the type likely to gossip, snicker, backstab and such and no one who does that is operating from a sense of well-being or high self-esteem. However, the people with higher moral threshold, likely to exhibit healthy behaviors, are likely to be the targets of their jabs and schemes so may feel isolated, targeted or like something is indeed wrong with them. And we know that's not the case. However, either way, having a stance being passionate and consistent about it, it just one pillar. As we saw in the video, there are other pillars to take into account. The type with one pillar is certainly not as stable as someone who possesses three pillars or more, and are likely to be shaken up by life more frequently and largely depend on ego, which is not self-confidence. Ego is hope of others seeing you in the positive light you hope to be and self-confidence is seeing yourself in totality and wholeness of day and being loving to yourself while seeing areas where you can improve.
I want to love this but it lost me on the 5th pillar... Why is it that we have to be entrepreneurs to live purposely? What is this passion for bashing those of us that keep the world running? Do nurses live without purpose? What about the person you buy your chai latte from in the morning? Is there no chance that they enjoy the smiles of the people they make drinks for a love their jobs? Some of us are not cut out to be entrepreneurs, just like we are not cut out to be warriors... and the world is a better place for it. Be thankful next time your bin is emptied that there are people who are getting up and doing what needs to be done. I am certain that it is possible to do a "day job" and still live with purpose!
+Heather Hudson It's a good point, I think we need to find our purpose and be in alignment with that. For some, that might be to practice as a nurse, or as a clerk, or else.
That's a beautiful message. It's true sometimes it can come across as entrepreneurs have some sort of superiority complex which is self-esteem gone wrong. But I'm sure in this case the example of entrepreneurs was merely an example. Even a nurse, who purposefully cares for a patient, willing to make a positive change in someone's life is practising purposefully. I think it's more to do with intentiality than the profession. It may be that for an entrepreneur they're fighting for their life so if they don't behave purposefully they'll get slaughtered (warrior example). Thus this is cultivated quicker. But likewise a nurse who works hard at her art, doing things with the right intentions and not merely out of habit but with a purpose, the nurse is immediately providing and benefiting people in ways the entrepreneur may take years to.

He took the example of entrepreneurs because statistically, a gooood portion of them is doing it because they follow "what they want to do" (some do it just in hope to get more money without any purpose). But that doesn't mean others can't do a "salary job" without purpose. Your nurse example is perfect. Same with hospital doctors, masseusse, pilot/steward, fisherman, IT tech, engineer, karate instructor and so on... ANYthing can be done with a purpose. And not only in jobs, but in everything in life. Again, we are talking about jobs because it is easier to get "sucked in" a job (just for money to live) that has no purpose. That doesn't mean nobody can have a purpose at your job Entrepreneurs have a free environnement that they can shape themselves, but if you can find something with a more structured environnement that has all you need, go for it! (in fact, it may be better for most of us)
+Heather Hudson I don't think he meant entrepreneurs in a physical sense. It is about living your life with a purpose. To do everything you do, because you love to do exactly what you are doing. Then it will shine through to your personality. You will be good at what you are doing, people will think that you are good, and you will be happy. That is kind of, what a successful entrepreneur is doing. But you could be nurse too.

They are all interconnected as well. I was in a really bad situation for a 2 months ago. Then one day I realised that self pity will not help. I became more aware of my living, I accepted that I didn't have control over circumstances that put me in that situation and I started to take responsibility. I could continue cry every night or I could do something to be better of. I needed a purpose. A direction out of despair and suffering. That called for introspection. I know have a long term purpose and I'm starting a new job soon that's in line with my long term purpose. Solitude and suffering is frightening. But they helped me find a purpose.

Have you tried every alcoholic beverage available? I am sure there will be a drink that you will like. If you haven't tried them all, how do you know you won't enjoy it? You are not a robot who must pass everything through a logic gate.
It's not the flavor. I've definitely tried tasty alcoholic beverages. I would just rather not be spending my money to put myself in a disoriented or tipsy/drunken state nor do I enjoy hangovers. I'm not dissing everyone who drinks, I don't care if people do. I just get shit for not drinking ALL the time.

Wow. I hit every one of these for the most part of my life. In my case, standing up for those who can't stand for themselves, not drinking alcohol, having humility so that I could find areas where I can improve and looking within criticisms for good insights and throwing away the hurtful junk, always willing to improve. One guy I turned down, I remember distinctly, tried attacking my willingness to always improve. That made me a realize a true weakness in him and a strength in me that I didn't want to have destroyed. To have someone note this about me, without having me state it, showed it was impactful to others..and maybe a sore point for him in his life, maybe feeling like he could not match up with me. Whatever it was, it helped me to think more and gave me good practice to live consciously in the moment, being more aware of people, of intentions; theirs and mine and being thankful and in some moments, taking the time to express that thankfulness to God and my loved ones. I'm glad to know I'm not as terrible as people have wanted me to think for years. My self-esteem was probably born out of a consistent stream of naysayers who I eventually decided I didn't want to please and didn't agree with. And I sought out things I loved about myself. Not just externally but especially internally. The things I could control, like not bullying people, defending others, not gossiping, helping others in need, thinking of what strangers might go through and how we all put on a public face of happiness, so I don't go around randomly hurting others. It makes you feel better about yourself to think better of others and treat people the way that you'd like to be treated. Compassion is a great form of self-love; using yourself to understand and gain an appreciation and love for others.

Self esteem comes from practice, failing multiple times until you become good at something you desire to be good at, slowly but constantly changing your subconcious towards your goal, having the courage to get out of your comfortable daily routine and trying to do something that you fear doing at first, you didn't address that in this video

I've been struggling with self-esteem since working with arrogant workmates who keeps on contradicting my ideas and opinion and acts as if they know better than I am... despite the fact that I have more work experience than them. They are newly graduate and newly hired by the way. And they are crowd favorite already.
Mohammad Bukhari Yeah, good question. In my example of drinking, the two are extremely intertwined. In short, personal integrity has to do more with you, while self-assertiveness has to do more with how you interact with others. So let's say someone decided he is going to stop drinking, but one day he is having a really hard time and on the way home, he picks up alcohol at the liquor store. He comes home and drinks it all. When he wakes up the next day, he is going to think he is worthless. He can't stick to things. He didn't practice his personal integrity, and now it's going to manifest itself through lack of self-esteem. Now, let's say another guy doesn't have a problem not drinking on his own, or even when he is around his friends. However, if they are drinking and he is not, they are making him feel like he isn't "cool" or that he's a loser, and he is going along with it. A quality that could be admired, even by the very people who are making fun of it, is going to be made fun of and ridiculed because the person cannot assert himself. I saw this all the time when I was in college. Yeah, there were people who did not drink even with their friends, but the problem was that most of them could not assert themselves around others in a way where they didn't have to be apologetic about something that is actually really respectable, admirable, and attractive.

I've only recently discovered the 6th pillar's importance. I'm always working on keeping the promises I make to myself. It's too easy to fall into a pattern of letting yourself get off easy and skip that work out, etc. Thanks for the videos!

what do you do when you try hard to build self-esteem, study hard, exercise regularly, have a happy life, but have no friends at school and feel really bad about it and that tears apart your self-esteem
Usually when we feel bad it's because how our situation is internalized - if we don't have friends and internalize that as "I'm a loser and no one likes me," then we are going to be depressed. If we internalize the same situation in a different, self compassionate way, it might sound something like, "I don't have friends yet at school but I'm happy with the personal path I'm on. I want to keep reaching out, so how can I put myself in a position to meet like minded people?" The second one doesn't reflect on your worth but the first one is a direct assault on it. Just start paying attention to the messages you tell yourself and how you interpret situations and you can then challenge the negative ones.

If you grew up homeless and alone, I believe you being here today is in itself big thing. And I must dare to say to you, don't try to be normal. Its very similar to leaving your own comfortable house to live with your normal people under a single roof. think about it. You have to sacrifice lots of things, adjust to the needs of people and you just cant be you. Yes, initially it might seem fun, but soon the magic fades away. In the same way, I highly suggest you to not try to waste time in 'fitting in'. Work on yourself all the time and make a purpose of your life that people would try to 'fit in' with you. in another video he said that he was suicidal when he was a kid. What helped him doesnt need to be helpfull for you. try to think about why and what made you feel this way and how you can change this. Doing something that makes you feel valuable and going into situations with a different mindset even if you feel this way has helped me lots cause you get a different reaction and you adjust. always had low selfesteem, went to a course, they actually taught me this and for 1 year my live changed, but I stopped doing what they told me and darkness came again. Shit, this is like a physical exercise, once you stop doing it, you lose all the work.
Exactly. Very good observation. When we have to change our current state, we have to look at the mind like a muscle. It becomes stronger through consistent exercise, but if you stop, it goes back to its natural state. For most of us we must maintain what growth we achieve. I think ultimately though when the mind creates and solidifies the new connections, over time and experience, they will be much harder to break. Much like the old strong connections that you're fighting against.

one question my friend: see, i consider myself very confident in my current state as authors like napoleon hill, dale carnegie, t. harv eker and many more improved my life over the last months. i became completely careless about the opinions of other people about me and got more energy as i started thinking positive about me and the people around me. Now would you still recommend this book to a person in a state of mind like mine? I know you can always learn from any book no matter how educated you think you are, just wanted to hear your opinion on this one :)
this book is useful for everyone. no one does all these six steps perfectly I. every situation , even the most confident people will slip up and go against their authentic self in certain situations.
Personal integrity and purposefully spending your time sounds like a luxury. Not many people can't afford that. E.g. if you depend on a paycheck you need to do what your boss wants despite considering it stupid. And you can't tell him or refuse, because it will make your paycheck less likely.
My question is: often low self-esteem is a consequence of overthinking things. So if I want to improve I have to actively work on myself.. but as long as I work on myself I have to actively think about it causing me to overthink again. What am I supposed to do?
+Sandor D. I would keep a journal and record the frequent thoughts, then check them after let's say a week. Synthesize the main themes and categorize them as constructive or parasitic. We become what we think the whole day. Look for your purpose in life, clarify purpose, check the obstacles and fears. Plan carefully and practice the pruning of parasitic ideas.
+Sandor D. Overthinking may be a consequence of low self-esteem. See if your overthinking is connected with some emotions, e.g. worry, fear, etc. They could be released using EFT, Sedona Method, etc.
+Cris S +humanyoda Thanks you guys.. I think that's a great idea. You see, I overthink in order not to forget (I have quite a low self esteem in certain things, that's totally true) but when I stop thinking / worrying too much I get all lazy and I don't accomplish my goals. I think that overthinking is related to discipline and not thinking much is getting all lazy (which isn't always bad). I really am trying to find a center between those two and I've done quite some progress.
I would say it does, this is because if you decided to wake up at a certain time and you didn't, you lose confidence in yourself to do what you set out to do, you trust yourself less. The assumption I have made is that you woke up at a different time than expected because you used the subjective term "late" But on a completely different note, waking up really gives you confidence and helps you have amazing days! if you want more info on that read the miracle morning :D

I think it's Ok because he mentions the source of information and the original author. Besides, he does not just upload the scan of the book but cited the 6 main ideas, expressing with his own examples and experience.

squirrel323 This is my favorite book! It has also been getting requested a lot. So definitely expect it to be animated very soon. Since the book is super dense (pretty much no fluff in this one), I will most likely do it in two parts. The first part will have to do with what it means to be masculine, and the second part will go into detail with how that masculine personality treats and interacts with the feminine.

squirrel323 Haha, yeah I know what that's like. I've basically learned that it is pointless to try to help "improve" anyone unless they are specifically looking for it themselves. I would see a friend of mine struggling, and I would think, "He could just read this one book, or listen to this one advice, and he could solve his problems." But that was in my naive days. :) Even today, some of my friends will tell me, "Why don't you talk to him and give him advice, you can help him." And I usually have to tell them that that's not how it works. The reason I love my channel is because I don't have to try and change anyone. The people who are watching this are themselves trying to make the change. So it's more like, I'm trying to improve myself, and anyone who wants to join along, great. If not, I don't have to impose myself on anyone.

When someone ignores me, do i say "im talking to you, why are you ignoring me?" Not with rage but with inquiry. Amber Zhandt Of course, that's a big part of it. Asserting yourself. It means that your wants, views and opinions are important and therefore demand to be shared. If you avoid calling things out/speaking up you are hiding parts of yourself due to fear of confrontation, criticism or disapproval and that injures your self-esteem more severely than anything anyone could ever do to you. Summed up: "Never avoid doing or saying something for fear of disapproval or criticism from other people."

I find self esteem a bit tricky.
People with lower moral values, non introspective and with out a strong critical judgement *have* high self esteem.
On the contrary people with higher moral threshold and strong critical judgement have lower self esteem.
So true.
Imho the first type of people you described is an example of ignorants who cant live conscious, rational and happy life - since they ignore the reality and give up reason for emotions, their "happiness" is very chaotic, random and -in most cases - temporary.
Branden in his essay "Mental Health versus Mysticism and Self Sacrifice" in Ayn Rand's "Virtue of Selfishness" explains how proper ethics influences one's way to achievment of happines and self-esteem (or rather: how proper ethics is essential to achieve them).
I don't imagine those people are readily happy for the success of others, though. Which would indicate a security in their own life and achievements. They are the type likely to gossip, snicker, backstab and such and no one who does that is operating from a sense of well-being or high self-esteem. However, the people with higher moral threshold, likely to exhibit healthy behaviors, are likely to be the targets of their jabs and schemes so may feel isolated, targeted or like something is indeed wrong with them. And we know that's not the case. However, either way, having a stance being passionate and consistent about it, it just one pillar. As we saw in the video, there are other pillars to take into account. The type with one pillar is certainly not as stable as someone who possesses three pillars or more, and are likely to be shaken up by life more frequently and largely depend on ego, which is not self-confidence. Ego is hope of others seeing you in the positive light you hope to be and self-confidence is seeing yourself in totality and wholeness of day and being loving to yourself while seeing areas where you can improve.

I want to love this but it lost me on the 5th pillar... Why is it that we have to be entrepreneurs to live purposely? What is this passion for bashing those of us that keep the world running? Do nurses live without purpose? What about the person you buy your chai latte from in the morning? Is there no chance that they enjoy the smiles of the people they make drinks for a love their jobs?
Some of us are not cut out to be entrepreneurs, just like we are not cut out to be warriors... and the world is a better place for it. Be thankful next time your bin is emptied that there are people who are getting up and doing what needs to be done. I am certain that it is possible to do a "day job" and still live with purpose!

That's a beautiful message. It's true sometimes it can come across as entrepreneurs have some sort of superiority complex which is self-esteem gone wrong. But I'm sure in this case the example of entrepreneurs was merely an example.
Even a nurse, who purposefully cares for a patient, willing to make a positive change in someone's life is practising purposefully. I think it's more to do with intentiality than the profession. It may be that for an entrepreneur they're fighting for their life so if they don't behave purposefully they'll get slaughtered (warrior example). Thus this is cultivated quicker.
But likewise a nurse who works hard at her art, doing things with the right intentions and not merely out of habit but with a purpose, the nurse is immediately providing and benefiting people in ways the entrepreneur may take years to.

He took the example of entrepreneurs because statistically, a gooood portion of them is doing it because they follow "what they want to do" (some do it just in hope to get more money without any purpose). But that doesn't mean others can't do a "salary job" without purpose. Your nurse example is perfect. Same with hospital doctors, masseusse, pilot/steward, fisherman, IT tech, engineer, karate instructor and so on... ANYthing can be done with a purpose. And not only in jobs, but in everything in life.
Again, we are talking about jobs because it is easier to get "sucked in" a job (just for money to live) that has no purpose. That doesn't mean nobody can have a purpose at your job
Entrepreneurs have a free environnement that they can shape themselves, but if you can find something with a more structured environnement that has all you need, go for it! (in fact, it may be better for most of us)
+Heather Hudson I don't think he meant entrepreneurs in a physical sense. It is about living your life with a purpose. To do everything you do, because you love to do exactly what you are doing. Then it will shine through to your personality. You will be good at what you are doing, people will think that you are good, and you will be happy.

I was in a really bad situation for a 2 months ago. Then one day I realised that self pity will not help. I became more aware of my living, I accepted that I didn't have control over circumstances that put me in that situation and I started to take responsibility. I could continue cry every night or I could do something to be better of. I needed a purpose. A direction out of despair and suffering. That called for introspection. I know have a long term purpose and I'm starting a new job soon that's in line with my long term purpose.
Solitude and suffering is frightening. But they helped me find a purpose.

It's not the flavor. I've definitely tried tasty alcoholic beverages. I would just rather not be spending my money to put myself in a disoriented or tipsy/drunken state nor do I enjoy hangovers. I'm not dissing everyone who drinks, I don't care if people do. I just get shit for not drinking ALL the time.

This is the perfect categorization of everything you could find on self esteem.....i always had a notion that self acceptance will affect my self improvement....wonderful job...
Wow. I hit every one of these for the most part of my life. In my case, standing up for those who can't stand for themselves, not drinking alcohol, having humility so that I could find areas where I can improve and looking within criticisms for good insights and throwing away the hurtful junk, always willing to improve. One guy I turned down, I remember distinctly, tried attacking my willingness to always improve. That made me a realize a true weakness in him and a strength in me that I didn't want to have destroyed. To have someone note this about me, without having me state it, showed it was impactful to others..and maybe a sore point for him in his life, maybe feeling like he could not match up with me. Whatever it was, it helped me to think more and gave me good practice to live consciously in the moment, being more aware of people, of intentions; theirs and mine and being thankful and in some moments, taking the time to express that thankfulness to God and my loved ones. I'm glad to know I'm not as terrible as people have wanted me to think for years. My self-esteem was probably born out of a consistent stream of naysayers who I eventually decided I didn't want to please and didn't agree with. And I sought out things I loved about myself. Not just externally but especially internally. The things I could control, like not bullying people, defending others, not gossiping, helping others in need, thinking of what strangers might go through and how we all put on a public face of happiness, so I don't go around randomly hurting others. It makes you feel better about yourself to think better of others and treat people the way that you'd like to be treated. Compassion is a great form of self-love; using yourself to understand and gain an appreciation and love for others.

Self esteem comes from practice, failing multiple times until you become good at something you desire to be good at, slowly but constantly changing your subconcious towards your goal, having the courage to get out of your comfortable daily routine and trying to do something that you fear doing at first, you didn't address that in this video

I've been struggling with self-esteem since working with arrogant workmates who keeps on contradicting my ideas and opinion and acts as if they know better than I am... despite the fact that I have more work experience than them.

What is the difference between practicing self assertiveness and personal integrity? Can you elaborate more on that?
Mohammad Bukhari Yeah, good question. In my example of drinking, the two are extremely intertwined.
In short, personal integrity has to do more with you, while self-assertiveness has to do more with how you interact with others.
So let's say someone decided he is going to stop drinking, but one day he is having a really hard time and on the way home, he picks up alcohol at the liquor store. He comes home and drinks it all. When he wakes up the next day, he is going to think he is worthless. He can't stick to things. He didn't practice his personal integrity, and now it's going to manifest itself through lack of self-esteem.
Now, let's say another guy doesn't have a problem not drinking on his own, or even when he is around his friends. However, if they are drinking and he is not, they are making him feel like he isn't "cool" or that he's a loser, and he is going along with it. A quality that could be admired, even by the very people who are making fun of it, is going to be made fun of and ridiculed because the person cannot assert himself.
I saw this all the time when I was in college. Yeah, there were people who did not drink even with their friends, but the problem was that most of them could not assert themselves around others in a way where they didn't have to be apologetic about something that is actually really respectable, admirable, and attractive.

what do you do when you try hard to build self-esteem, study hard, exercise regularly, have a happy life, but have no friends at school and feel really bad about it and that tears apart your self-esteem
Usually when we feel bad it's because how our situation is internalized - if we don't have friends and internalize that as "I'm a loser and no one likes me," then we are going to be depressed. If we internalize the same situation in a different, self compassionate way, it might sound something like, "I don't have friends yet at school but I'm happy with the personal path I'm on. I want to keep reaching out, so how can I put myself in a position to meet like minded people?" The second one doesn't reflect on your worth but the first one is a direct assault on it. Just start paying attention to the messages you tell yourself and how you interpret situations and you can then challenge the negative ones.

i know you have a gf but you are a good person. thank you for these videos. i grew up homeless (actually homeless) and parentless, as feral as they come, and your videos save my life. although I went to Brown I don't know how do things like normal people. anyways thank you.
If you grew up homeless and alone, I believe you being here today is in itself big thing.
And I must dare to say to you, don't try to be normal. Its very similar to leaving your own comfortable house to live with your normal people under a single roof. think about it. You have to sacrifice lots of things, adjust to the needs of people and you just cant be you. Yes, initially it might seem fun, but soon the magic fades away.
In the same way, I highly suggest you to not try to waste time in 'fitting in'. Work on yourself all the time and make a purpose of your life that people would try to 'fit in' with you.

in another video he said that he was suicidal when he was a kid. What helped him doesnt need to be helpfull for you. try to think about why and what made you feel this way and how you can change this. Doing something that makes you feel valuable and going into situations with a different mindset even if you feel this way has helped me lots cause you get a different reaction and you adjust. always had low selfesteem, went to a course, they actually taught me this and for 1 year my live changed, but I stopped doing what they told me and darkness came again.
Shit, this is like a physical exercise, once you stop doing it, you lose all the work.
What did they teach you ? Simplify it for me.
Exactly. Very good observation. When we have to change our current state, we have to look at the mind like a muscle. It becomes stronger through consistent exercise, but if you stop, it goes back to its natural state. For most of us we must maintain what growth we achieve. I think ultimately though when the mind creates and solidifies the new connections, over time and experience, they will be much harder to break. Much like the old strong connections that you're fighting against.

one question my friend: see, i consider myself very confident in my current state as authors like napoleon hill, dale carnegie, t. harv eker and many more improved my life over the last months. i became completely careless about the opinions of other people about me and got more energy as i started thinking positive about me and the people around me. Now would you still recommend this book to a person in a state of mind like mine? I know you can always learn from any book no matter how educated you think you are, just wanted to hear your opinion on this one :)
this book is useful for everyone. no one does all these six steps perfectly I. every situation , even the most confident people will slip up and go against their authentic self in certain situations.

Personal integrity and purposefully spending your time sounds like a luxury. Not many people can't afford that. E.g. if you depend on a paycheck you need to do what your boss wants despite considering it stupid. And you can't tell him or refuse, because it will make your paycheck less likely.

My question is: often low self-esteem is a consequence of overthinking things. So if I want to improve I have to actively work on myself.. but as long as I work on myself I have to actively think about it causing me to overthink again. What am I supposed to do?
+Sandor D. I would keep a journal and record the frequent thoughts, then check them after let's say a week. Synthesize the main themes and categorize them as constructive or parasitic. We become what we think the whole day. Look for your purpose in life, clarify purpose, check the obstacles and fears. Plan carefully and practice the pruning of parasitic ideas.
+Sandor D. Overthinking may be a consequence of low self-esteem. See if your overthinking is connected with some emotions, e.g. worry, fear, etc. They could be released using EFT, Sedona Method, etc.

Thanks you guys.. I think that's a great idea. You see, I overthink in order not to forget (I have quite a low self esteem in certain things, that's totally true) but when I stop thinking / worrying too much I get all lazy and I don't accomplish my goals. I think that overthinking is related to discipline and not thinking much is getting all lazy (which isn't always bad). I would say it does, this is because if you decided to wake up at a certain time and you didn't, you lose confidence in yourself to do what you set out to do, you trust yourself less.
The assumption I have made is that you woke up at a different time than expected because you used the subjective term "late"
But on a completely different note, waking up really gives you confidence and helps you have amazing days! if you want more info on that read the miracle morning :D

Ritesh Man Tamrakar I was just wondering the same thing. I believe you're allowed to cite quotes from the book (IE: In this video he cites the title of each practice) but notice how how uses his own life experiences and examples for the actual content. Any thoughts or additions FightMediocrity
I think it's Ok because he mentions the source of information and the original author. Besides, he does not just upload the scan of the book but cited the 6 main ideas, expressing with his own examples and experience.

So definitely expect it to be animated very soon. Since the book is super dense (pretty much no fluff in this one), I will most likely do it in two parts. The first part will have to do with what it means to be masculine, and the second part will go into detail with how that masculine personality treats and interacts with the feminine.

squirrel323 Haha, yeah I know what that's like. I've basically learned that it is pointless to try to help "improve" anyone unless they are specifically looking for it themselves. I would see a friend of mine struggling, and I would think, "He could just read this one book, or listen to this one advice, and he could solve his problems." But that was in my naive days. :) Even today, some of my friends will tell me, "Why don't you talk to him and give him advice, you can help him." And I usually have to tell them that that's not how it works.
The reason I love my channel is because I don't have to try and change anyone. The people who are watching this are themselves trying to make the change. So it's more like, I'm trying to improve myself, and anyone who wants to join along, great. If not, I don't have to impose myself on anyone.
