I used to clean up the dead stuff in my garden beds too until I learned that it provides nesting material, shelter and protection for birds and insects. If possible it's best to leave things until spring. 😊❤

Good morning, Tessie! I'm always spurred on and motivated by all you accomplish in your day. I spent some time checking on my garden and cleaning up a bit the other day. I was amazed to see the calendula still growing! Last summer was the first time I grew it, and I'll never have a garden without it again. Your herb cabin has really turned out beautifully, like your own apothecary-absolutely love it. What you said about keeping the lamp oil full resonated on many levels; it's so true. Tessie, I feel you it's always a challenge in winter to have good sun's rays I try to be out side when sunny as much as possible I also take vit D3 your little cabin shack looks very cozy I could see you sitting there with your oil lamp lit I need to be out in my garden to clean up a bit before the weekend :-) Love you my sister :-) God Bless You and Ken :-)

Good morning Owen! Not saying you are but a lot of people who suffer from Behavior health illnesses are prescribed Vitamin D also people who are not able to make their own vitamin D because they don't get enough sunlight etc. Although it is a supplement unless you are prescribed by a doctor you should really look into it before taking. If your body already has enough it can cause problems like kidney stones and such. I was given some one winter about ten years or so ago. After taking for 1 month they retested my blood and discontinued my prescription because my levels were back to normal.

Do you have a "weed wacker" ( some call it a string trimmer)? You could cut down your dead fall plants in no time, saving you so much time! Even if you don't want to use it, maybe Kenny will wiz through it for you! Just a thought to make some chores easier for you! (Also, if he runs over the leaves with the lawnmower first and collects them in the catcher, you can just dump them in the garden. They will break down faster!) God Bless!

I hang most of my laundry indoors,im handicap with inly the use of 1arm, it gets done!
My granny hung her clothes on a clothesline. So when it rained she had a retractable clothesline that was in her hallway. It attached to the wall at one end of the hall and a hook attached to the other end. When she didn’t need it up it retracted into itself. Maybe you could fix something like that in the garage when you need to do laundry but you’ve had bad weather all week.
Nice video....why not hung clothes in house to dry during the winter. We have several of the folding racks...put on wet clothes and by morning they are dry. Nope, we don't have fire or wood stove and our heat in the house is usually set at 65° but everything including the towels get dry...it also helps keep moisture in the air so I don't have to run a humidifier even in our small 865 sg ft cottage
Several of my herbs and mints are still going...I've been keeping a close eye on them and covering my winter veggies at times..
We would love a dusting of snow! Blessings❣️❣️

Have you tried putting lines in the house? Dad put lines up in the cellar for Mom to hang the clothes but they didn't dry. That was about 1972. It helped or drying racks.

I just found out I can get replacement chimneys, flume, globes or whatever they are called from Home Depot online. And the beauty of it is you get free delivery and we get a military discount of 10% but the sales tax is 6% so we always get whatever it is for 4% less than the regular price! I love that. And they have the full size ones for under $7 I had to replace three plus get hubby a 2-gang wall plate with an outlet and light switch. The local hardware only had outlet/decor wall plates. He has been busy wiring up our outbuilding and adding led lights! One of these days we want to convert it to solar.
I do not like the cold. I like hanging out my cloths, so I don't have to run my dryer.

Love your Going up Crooked Creek. Power units...that's my next thing I need to get. In my area we loose power sometimes 4 days at a time. I lost everything in my greenhouse one year. It was sad.. But now I have a Coleman heater that works great for a 12 hour period. But for my house if I can get one room warm that will be great. If it takes me 2 years to save up that will be fine. What can you recommend. I don't have alot of money per month so it is going to take me time to save. But I don't want to get one and it's the wrong one.
