Tessie, if you plan to cut squares from the receiving blankets for rags, here's a handy tip to keep the edges from fraying so much! Simply snip all four corners at a 45' angle! This creates a bias edge and prevents the fabric from getting all tangled in the wash! Great video : )

That watering can is just gorgeous, and the braided rug reminded me of the ones we always had in our home when I was growing up. You found so many wonderful, useful things. Hey Tessie, I'm late again and I've been in this heat running errands everyday and it has not been fun at all. This was a nice thrifty Thursday haul. My Grandmama made those braided rugs and had them all over her house and had a large one in the living room. I wish I had ask her for a couple of them way back then but at that time i did not think about it. I like when you show the old pictures of your relatives. I enjoyed this video and I will type at you later 🤗💙🙏

Receiving blankets make nice rice packs that you heat up. Better than a heating pad! Love the water can, it will be nice for fall decorating.
I love the old ways also, and autumn 🍂🍂🍁🍁🍂. I love the way you decorate and it reminded me of how I used to decorate so you inspired me to do that again. I love using my cast iron pans like in the old days, I have two. I have not cooked outside because of the heat. I wish i could get rid of the microwave but it's my only kitchen helper. 🍁

Great finds today, Tessie. Loved the homemade cleaning recipes too. Love that you add essential oils. I love my essentisl oils. Just this evening was watering a plant out on my porch and got stung on my finger by a wasp of some kind. Ran into the house, opened my peppermint oil and put a few drops on the sting and followed up with lavender. Worked wonderful! 😊

I love making my own cleaners too, you could just use your laundry soap and add the bi carb. I use this as a cleanser and it is soo good. Also if you add all your citrus peels to a jar of vinegar and let it sit for 4 weeks it becomes an amazing cleaning spray which you can dilute and put into a spray bottle. It smells great and really cuts through grease, the only place I don't use it is on mirrors as it streaks. I love your wipes and am going to try it asap. Thank you

Those are nice finds. I hardly collect any books anymore.. I lost counting after 300+ books and I guess I have something between four and five hundred in all kind of languages besides Dutch (German, English and Italian). I love vintage things (and I have quite some), but I don't have those in my living room (except for 1 tube radio, which isn't the oldest or rarest that I have). But pictures and stories are the most valuable I can pass on to my kids. I have pictures of my ancestors, pictures from their homes (the farm of my great granddad is taken under monumental care for example), churches they build, etc etc. In my opinion things like that are even more worth..
I had a friend give me an old, working, wringer washer. I lined the inside with egg cartons then plastic for a liner. It now holds an assortment of plants in pots. I'm hoping to grow my herbs during the winter in it. It'll still be easy enough to empty and use. I was thinking of you, Tessie, when I was deciding how to use it/store it till my current washer finally gives out

With all the confusion and chaos in the world today, the simple ways are becoming the way to go! My grandmother, one day, after I came home from grocery shopping, took my roll of paper towels out of my bag and put them in the garbage can!!!!! I said, "What did you do that for?" She said, "Don't you do that anyway? I'm just saving you time!" LOL! We laughed, but she was right! We buy them to throw away! She used old fabric napkins, or worn washcloths or any cloth fabric for her "rags" as she called them! So, I am familiar with cloth cleaning "rags"! She washed all of hers until they fell apart! Love watching your videos great tips o making your own cleaning products. I love to see the joy you find in little things. Its so important because yhe workd is fixated on new this or that and bigger and better. But truth be told just enjoy the kittle things that make us happy. A warm cup of tea on a cold day. A memory of one of my moms home cooked meals that i do my best to duplicate but hers always tasted better lol. Even a kind gester from someone. Example i use a cane and i was shopping. So many kind people will ask if i need help or if they can reach an item for me. Little blessings.

I not only find it amazing that you have photos of your grandpa's teacher. So many people have no idea who the people in their grandparent's are. What a way to perserve your family's memories.
