I understand that a deep-fried burger is not very healthy, but I like the idea of sealing the burger in some kind of edible casing so that nothing falls out of it
If you like the idea but want something a bit healthier there are a few recipes out there for burgers fully sealed in dough, it can be as easy as biscuit dough too I believe!
_Burger pie_ P.S. Apparently, it exists. It's a burger, but instead of a bun, it's encased in a crust, covered in sesame seeds and baked. This sound delicious. I've never even considered this before. I'll try it.
@@24shineon Definitely. I made a veggie burger with loads of cheese (I have a serious addiction to cheese 😔), onion and garlic, then I wrapped it up in crescent dough, sealed it, rubbed it with butter (another addiction 😔), and then put it in the air fryer on the bake setting, 360F for 9 minutes. Turned it over and did an extra 2 minutes. It Was Phenomenal!!!!! 😋😋😋😋😋
One of the things I like best about Alvin's videos on here is that he uses as much of the scraps as possible to make chef's snacks like those ribs, and he makes sure everyone gets to enjoy the food on top of having leftovers of big meals to take home. Truly an embodiment of waste not, want not 😊
It's probably the reason I like him so much more than Andrew himself for these sorts of vids, there's just an extra level of consideration happening that wasn't there before.
West Australian here - Greenhorns was the best but unfortunately they closed down about two years ago. They were probably the best burger in the CBD at the time but unfortunately they were probably in the worst location possible so they were never that busy. The owners now run like a couple of sandwich and salad bars that seem to do OK.
I was surprised to hear this was from Australia, and then I was interested especially as it mentions shakes on the paper. Sad to know it's gone before I even knew it existed.
since here at home we season both the breadcrumps and the eggs, we usually just mix what last of them after breading and fry to make what we call seasoning balls
I'm sorry but $100 for a six pack of socks is such a frivolous WASTE of money. They better be weaved out of golden thread spun by rumpelstiltskin for that price
I've never ordered from them but I have bought $10 socks from Stance before which come with the promise of free replacement if they wear out, sustainable material sourcing, fair wages for laborers, and a charitable donation. Does Bombas include that kind of promise on their website? They're super comfy socks (I got a pair from my sister's mother in law once), but you're really buying 20 pairs of socks for $100, you're just donating the other 10 pairs before you ever see them.
You should make the Hamdog. A hotdog wrapped in a hamburger patty on a hoagie roll, covered in chili cheese and onions then topped with two fistfulls of french fries and a fried egg.
At first I thought you meant hotdog as in sausage and bread roll wrapped in a huge burger pattie, cooked, then toppings. I was horrified lol. Googled it, thankfully.
Honestly my favorite part of the video was those things you made at the end! I never know what to do with my leftover batter/breading and hate letting it go to waste. Stealing this for next time!
Love your videos, Alvin, and just wanted to comment that one of my favorite things is how you use up all your leftovers and scraps. Absolutely love the ideas you give for those things.
Could you d a video breaking down a basic cheese burger testing each step? Like what happens if you don’t freeze the meat before grinding? What if you don’t let your bun rise twice? As a super lazy chef I would appreciate this as I often skip steps I don’t see the point in.
or as Squidward would cynically say, "King-Size Ultra Krabby Supreme with the works, double batter fried, on a stick, barnacle head... you forgot your mayonnaise." 🤣
Think this would be really nice with mini-burgers or with the burger chopped in to smaller bite size pieces. Then they'd be ideal as a starter with 3-4 on the plate and the dipping sauce, or as snack/party food.
I was gonna give props for his vertical, leaping on the counter like that. Then I realized it was played in reverse and he actually hopped down. Sneaky.
When i was a kid i used to watch a lot of food shows on the travel channel. And i remember seeing man vs food or something feature a burger that was deep fried whole like this and i've always wanted to try it lol
Dannnggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg Greenhorns is permanently closed now. We live in Perth and we were so excited for a bit of hometown goodness. You are my partner's favourite presenter in the BCU and we feel immense hometown pride that you mentioned our little sleepy town. We have some ripper stuff here, hope you find some more goodness.
A very long time ago, there was a pub in my college's town that served deep-fried cheeseburgers, which were coated in a batter like chicken fingers. I was able to eat about 4-5 bites and then I swore I felt my heart pumping way too hard, so I stopped. Very delicious, though!
If anyone sees this, mind explaining to me why Alvin decided to use a food processor to make the ground beef vs a grinder? Is there some sort of advantage to it or?
Anime with Alvin could do an episode where you make pork taste as close as possible to human meat. For either attack on Titan or the promised never land. 😬😬😬
I really appreciate that these videos consistently show what you do with the leftovers and unused ingredients, never stop doing this!
It’s Alvin who does it always. Andrew only does it (or shows it) when they have food for 10 people.
@@Staniii2360I like Babish but I kinda like Alvin more for that

Right and the cheese should be in it
I seal them in my mouth.
Does frying the socks bring out their natural aroma?
Brings out my natural aroma.
Definitely improves the feel, not sure about the smell.
Speaking from experience, it definitely makes em more fragrant

Fred from the Fred movie did that.

on the bright side, at least you don't have to go to WA now
Perth local here, I heard it was from WA and immediately looked it up
Sadly, I found out that it no longer exits, would of loved to try this!
@@wikiprion Hah, that's true! I do live about as far away from Perth as you can while still being in Australia
I think one of my favourite things about these “Anything” videos is Alvin making all the extra dishes from leftovers and scraps😊
Thanks for showing a way to use the dredge afterwards - I always feel awful throwing the leftover stuff away. I'll try doing this in the future!
Wild how this isn't the first time a burger is batter fried in this channel. And not even the second time a burger is deep fried
since here at home we season both the breadcrumps and the eggs, we usually just mix what last of them after breading and fry to make what we call seasoning balls
The leftover batter biscuits idea is freaking brilliant!

This is either Californian or from New York, isnt it?
Frying burgers & vocal chords, he does it all!

My man mentions cheesy biscuits less than two weeks after Red Lobster announces that it'll be selling itself to its creditors.

I've always wondered what is done when there are left over batter and stuff and this is very cool to see
I actually more interested with the side dishes Alvin made than the burger, especially the last one
If your already sealing it in fried bread, just leave out the burger buns and use the cheese to hold it all together.
Please do a collab with FutureCanoe!
love how much care you take over the leftovers
Almost 20 years ago I made something very similar to this but did it as sliders for a senior project.
That sounds way more manageable for consumption than those oversized burgers Alvin made.
My favorite part of Alvin's vdeos is when he shows what to do with the left overs 🥰
doing this but with sliders would be incredible
or as Squidward would cynically say, "King-Size Ultra Krabby Supreme with the works, double batter fried, on a stick, barnacle head... you forgot your mayonnaise." 🤣
WAIT A MINUTE! This reminds me of the King-Size Ultra Krabby Supreme with the works, Double-Batter Fried... On a stick
Pretty sure they made that one too😂❤️
Checked out the sock link out of curiosity. 3 pairs of socks for EIGHTY FOUR DOLLARS. What planet are people living on.
must be some top tier footwear 😂
The kind that pockets 60 of the 84 and donates ten bucks and spends the rest of 400 more socks made in china
Love your content Alvin! Thanks For this ❤❤
I live in Perth, I can(and will) easily go and try this thing.
let me know how it tastes irl
They've shut down?
Unfortunately Greenhorns closed about two years ago 😅
Getting flashbacks to the deep fried double krabby patty with the works on a stick. (And don't forget the mayonnaise)
Like the extra bonus recipes to make snacks with the extra ingredients!
Ngl, I love Bombas socks, they’re actually rly comfy
Really appreciate these shows ❤. please explore more of these hidden cuisines and fusion recipes team Babish 😊

This feels like that SpongeBob episode where they had a fried burger. Just needs a stick
Putting lettuce on it then deep frying is def a choice. Whomst among us doesn’t like hot lettuce?
The Krusty Krab should use these burger bombs as actual weapons to stop Plankton from stealing the secret formula
Bombas socks? This is a certified Spindatt classic.
really appreciate showing what to do with the leftover ingredients!!
This is becoming the Alvin Culinary Universe, no complaints here.
thanks for the last part of the video. the excess dredge is why i don't bother with a lot of cooks. wish i had $300 for a six pack of socks.
Day 203 of petitioning Babish to make the Triple Fried Egg Sandwich with Chilli Sauce and Chutney from Red Dwarf
If I had a nickel for every time a hamburger was fried on babish, I would have 2 nickles.
I gotta stop watching these before dinner 😂 I"m droooling
Brit: “Scotch eggs are the best pub food ever.”
Aussie: “Oh yeah? Watch this.”
I was gonna give props for his vertical, leaping on the counter like that. Then I realized it was played in reverse and he actually hopped down. Sneaky.
The fact you didn’t hit those leftover cheese balls with garlic butter at the end is a tragedy

That ain't a burger bomb that's a whole Heroshima on your heart.
Bombas socks are nice and it's super cool that they donate socks but Injinji socks are easily the most comfortable socks ever, well above bombas.

I'm the 315th person to watch this video! I would one day try those deep fried burger treats! It will go well with a tub load of French fries!
I think my blood pressure got higher just by looking at that thumbnail.
And I’ll be the first to admit, I’m not totally mad at that.
Alvin: *makes a deep fried double burger drenched in special sauce* "this is a fun little snack"
Babish buddy, I cannot believe you still haven't done the Sandvich from Team Fortress 2
Hitting the nail on the head why I really don't do much deep frying; the dredge never seems to have secondary use... UNTIL NOW!
That was a neat thing to do with the leftover breading stuff!
Wait...Australia made something from a Spongebob episode REAL?!?
We need the BTS of Alvin moonwalking on the table
If I had a nickel for every time this channel breaded and deep fried a hamburger, I think I’d have a quarter by now.
I really want to see either Alvin or Babish make a horseshoe. One with hamburger, though.
Can someone update me on why Alvin is on Babish's channel? Not hating, I love Alvin, just very confused
0:26 I'm from Western Australia
I had a deep fried patty from a resturaunt in NY called Korzo House. It was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Curious to see how this one looks.

Can we get Alvin to do his 200hr chocolate cake? It'd be really epic to have that recipe
Babish Culinary Universe, amazing video I really liked it
The way the sponsor’s name means “bomb” in Spanish and he made a burger bomb 😂
I never thought I'd see breaded bread
The jump onto the counter was impressive. Not everyone can do that. Great physique.
I hate that i would legitimately eat this and probably love it.
Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.

PLEASE make the pizza pasta bake from Fears to Fathom 4!!
Australia? I was certain this idea was gonna originate from Scotland! The home of the deep fried Mars Bars!

*Unnecessarily deep fries something that has no business being deep fried:* Zach Choi approves of this

Make the 3 cakes from the penguins of madagascar that they made for king Juliens birthday

The most american burger ever maded that is not made in America.

You should make some of the foods from Great North
What's wild is I like watching Alvin more than Babby at this point. Nothing against bibby, still love his vids too.
Probably for the best since it feels like Alvin's channel anymore
Admit it. You totally expected this to be a thing from an American restaurant, not Australia
Since we are both made up of Great Britain's rejects...
