- This is a video showing my Naza set up using 2 position switches on the DX6i and the Hobbyking OrangeRx R620. I also demonstrate the failsafe function via a switch and by turning off the Dx6i simulating a signal loss. At the end of the video I have the screen shots on how I have my transmitter set. This is what works for me.
Here is a video link on how to set the failsafe on the orangeRx. It takes you step by step on the binding process.

This video had saved me a lot of messing about. Thanks!
Glad I can help someone out!
No problem, glad I can help someone out. Thanks for watching.
Fantastic, I have the DJI Phantom, and want to use it with my DX6I instead of the stock controller that comes with it. Thank you for posting this video, it was informative and you did a great job.
Thank you! This was exactly what I needed for my DX6i!
Captain Tripps I'm glad it helped.
Lot of time saved with this video. Thank you!
Your welcome.
Nice instruction. It helped me as a F450 newbie. Thanks.

I have tried your setup. Everything works, except the Intelligent Orientation Control. We can only switch from off to course lock, but we don't have enough travel to switch to home lock? Is there anything we could have overlooked? Thanks for your great support and video.
Hi,
I just setup everything just like you did and it work perfectly with my OrangeRx 620 and DX6i but I did not catch how you setup the fail-safe mode when you shut down the Rx. I can see you do it, it might be simple but could not figure out how... thank for the video BTW it help a lot.
I'm using ar6210 rx, I wonder if is there any difference in the configuration for failsafe works? because I followed all directions for binding, but they don't work for me. everything you said in this video about how set up tx works perfectly, but the only thing that is not working when binding is failsafe mode. when I turned off tx , the dj naza assistant showed that throttle worked but did not failsafe mode.
Or how do you setup you OrangeRx R620 for fail-safe? I just find-out it is the orange receiver that needs to be program and not the TX or Naza MC. then how do you do that?
How did you calibrate your compass with the dx6i
Thanks, clear and simple setup!
+Pat B Thanks for watching.
***** Welcome, thanks for posting. I'll be ordering a Naza now that I know I can use all the features. Saves me buying a new radio for now.
+940 RC Just got my NAZA today. Now the fun begins. Also will be upgrading it to full MAZA M with help from the NAZA upgrade project. No charge and it works from what I've seen. There are a few videos on youtube showing it :)
+Pat B Enjoy!
Thanks, did the upgrade last night so now I have Naza M V2 on the Lite with no charge!! Google Naza upgrade project if you're interested. Super easy to do. Now if one adds the M pmu all the features of M are available. Thanks again.
Oh that's what exactly i was searching for :-) . THANKSSSSSSSSSSSSS MERCIIII
But may you told me if on AR6210 we lose the signal/Radio Off, failSafe mode will active or no it's definatly impossible for this modèle ?
is it possible de passe A on GPS and after on M mode ? and have a fail safe on Lose signal ?
I upgrade frimware version after the led is not working properly what problem occurred? Please help me
This is great! got everything working as you displayed. Failsafe on the TX fail is very nice. One thing. I saw someone else ask. How do you calibrate the GPS? you need to switch from gps/atti to manual several times.
Hope you have an answer as this config is great on my dx6i :)
Thanks.
That is the down side to my setup, is that you can't enter calibration mode because manual mode is not set up on my dx6. I had to set up manual mode on the dx6 from time to time just to enter calibration. I've switch radios recently and I now have a 3 position switch which makes it so much easier.
Hi! Only this configuration works on my dx6i.. I've to ask you if you can tell how i can set the manual mode working.. i've to do the axis set up and i don't know how to do.. thanks
I don't have my dx6i anymore so I really can't give you exact details for the manual mode set up. If you have similar settings to my video then try adjusting the gear % until the manual mode is highlighted on the DJI software. Hopefully that helps.
Gd video 950 RC.
1 Question: For setting up failsafe you left on GPS mode AND IOC (intelligent orientation control) was set to OFF or Course Lock or Home Lock??
GPS mode on and IOC off when I programmed the failsafe.
Top Cheers 940 RC!
Cheers Curly!
Thanks fir the Very helpful videosDo recommend spektrum dx6i for naza m v2 quadcopter?I mean how much it's easy and friendly usage while programing and controling ?i read that the futabas works ok but so hostile while the setup if i may use the appropriate words .Thanks for any advise
I like the spectrum but I switched to the Turnigy 9XR which has more features and great for all aircraft's. Cost a lot less also. I recommend the 9XR.
How do you go into the compass/GPS calibration when you fly given you have the ATTI/GPS/FAILSAFE on two seperate switches? Do you just need to toggle the ATTI/GPS switch to get it into calibration mode?
Thanks.
I can't. I did the calibration prior to this configuration. If I need to calibrate again I would need to re-configure to allow me to go into calibration. Sucks to do it this way but it works for me.
Like your video nice.
How can I set up my transmitter on failsafe mode, when I loss the signal or turn off my dx6i going to automatically to failsafe mode?
Tgank you
I've assigned my "forced" failsafe function to one of my three way switches, having set it something like GPS/atti/failsafe. I've never tried triggering failsafe, but according to you mine won't work as I can't have it in GPS mode and failsafe at the same time?
I can force failsafe, but only if I'm flying in GPS mode or if I lose signal. I can't force failsafe in Atti mode unless I lose signal then it will activate failsafe. This is only my preference but you can program it differently if you wish. Hope this makes sense.
I can force failsafe in all 3 modes. GPS, Atti and Manual mode but I'm have trouble getting my R620 to trigger failsafe if I loose signal.
MrTonegee Check out this video from this guy. He demonstrates how to program failsafe on the Rx. I used this video when I did mine. Hope this helps.

Help needed please???
After hours of struggling I have nearly managed to set up all the settings apart from the fail safe settings. When I switch my radio of the elevator and aileron cursor move all the way over to the right side and do not stay in the middle. What am I doing wrong is it settings on my tx?
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Phil
Try and recalibrate your sticks to the DJI software and then rebind your Rx & Tx. After those steps try and reprogram the failsafe again. See if that works. LMK.
1. with Tx on set the switches as though to induce failsafe and have the throttle at 40%. 2. switch off Tx. 3. Put the bind plug in the Rx and power up. 4. remove the bind plug. 5. turn Tx on holding the bind switch.... I've just check this with the Naza set up assistant and when I power off the Tx it goes in to failsafe.
How was the wiring from the receiver to the NAZA? I am using a spektrum AR6210 receiver and I do not know where to plug in for "AUX 1" and "GEAR"
Your plug 5 for receiver goes into plug 5 on the naza and plug 6 from receiver goes to x2
Your plug 5 for receiver goes into plug 5 on the naza and plug 6 from receiver goes to x2
I am also using the DX6i controller, but with an AR200 RX. If I turn off my TX, the naza does not go into failsafe mode, it stays in which ever mode it was in before. Is there a way to fix this?
I'm not familiar with the AR200 RX, but check out the manual for it and it should tell you wether it supports failsafe or not. If it does just follow your manual instructions for programming failsafe. Should be an easy process. I have a link on the description of this video to another members channel that shows how to program failsafe on a orange rx but it should be similar to other brands.
Seems that the throttle only works on the failsafe, not the switches.
Joe Anthing Try a orangerx (with failsafe) and your DX6i, that should work.
great video this is exact informations i was looking for, thank you very much for sharing.
Will this setup method also work with the Orange t-six transmitter?
The Orange TX will be just fine as long as you use a rx with failsafe feature.
Thanks so much on the info. Great vid. I am using a AR6210 receiver and I can't seem to get the home lock and the coarse lock to work. Can you help, Thanks
Park
The screen shots at the end of the video have the values that worked for me. You may have adjust them slightly to get it to work for your. Try adjusting them a little and see if that helps.
I keep reading that RTH Failsafe when Tx is switched off is not possible with any Spectrum Rx lower than AR7xxxx
The 6100 has "smart" fail safe. This will not work for RTH fail safe. You need a Spektrum receiver that has " preset" fail safe. This feature is available on some of their 7 channel receivers, I believe the AR7010 has it.
So, does this video get around this ?
I'm using the OrangeRx R620, this allows me to set failsafe. Not sure about the spektrum brand Rx's.
setting failsafe may only be motors, not RTH though
I just used a spectum AR610 and couldn't get failsafe in the naza assistant. I assigned failsafe as one of the control modes and ended in a near disaster. Quad returned but never stopped. Good thing i switched to atti and got it to crash instead.
1. with Tx on set the switches as though to induce failsafe and have the throttle at 40%. 2. switch off Tx. 3. Put the bind plug in the Rx and power up. 4. remove the bind plug. 5. turn Tx on holding the bind switch.... I've just check this with the Naza set up assistant and when I power off the Tx it goes in to failsafe.
Thanks for the tip, Nic but it doesn't work for me for some reason. I'll try again though : )
Great video, thanks ! I have the GPS setting working fine, perfect, but I just cannot get the flaps to work well on the X2, with your settings and anything else I have tried. Problem seems to be that the flaps channel only seems to travel from far right to centre, even with flaps set to +100 & -100 for NORM & LANDING, the slider never moves to below zero in the raw channel monitor, so I can never get at HOME LOCK !? I have a 6xi with AR5200 receiver. It seems the flaps channel is not designed to work in full travel, which seems very unlikely to me? Have you come across this ? Help, thanks !
Maybe change the SUB TRIM on the flaps as well in your TX settings, this should give you some more movement.
Tried that too, no joy sadly. Already on 100% trim, and tried 125% (max), cant get anywhere close, suspecting maybe different firmware to the guy in this vid as it is SO far out??
I have not encounter this with the flaps. At the time of this video, I think I was running FW 3.10
Chris W I'm about to upload a video of how I set up my DX6i + NAZA-M lite + OrangeRX R620 receiver to work in all 3 modes, GPS, Attitude & Manual including failsafe in all 3 modes and signal lost failsafe too.
MrTonegee Thanks for the reply. I ended up buying a new 8 channel rig, the Futaba 8j in the end, I decided I couldnt live without the gimbal tilt channel so went for an 8 channel rig instead... !
How do yo calibrate your GPS compass with spectrum dx6i
You can't with this configuration. You will have to reconfigure your radio which shouldn't be a problem.
+940 RC thanks for your help just worked it all out
Awesome!
Hello, when I turn my transmitter off, my receiver stays in last fly modus instead of failsafe. The throttle changes to 56%, so it won't crash... but what do I wrong???
Pls help
Try to reprogram your RX with your switches on your radio in the failsafe position.
i had the same problem, its easy when you understand whats happening, you need a reciever that you can programe, set the switch to failsafe, throttle to 55% and bind the radio. search youtube for programing reciever
Hey thx Alan, I managed to program in the right position now
Can I do that fail safe whit 6 channel sport receiver
I'm no sure about the sport receiver. I'm not familiar with it.
Help me a lot Thank you amigo

Here's how to get a DX6i set up with RTH if the Tx loses power / signal:
1. with Tx on set the switches as though to induce failsafe and have the throttle at 40%. 2. switch off Tx. 3. Put the bind plug in the Rx and power up. 4. remove the bind plug. 5. turn Tx on holding the bind switch.... I've just check this with the Naza set up assistant and when I power off the Tx it goes in to failsafe.
My friend those steps don't work for me when I split f mode switch and I turn of my tx don't let me bind with the rx I don't know what I can do
I'm using ar6210 rx, I wonder if is there any difference in the configuration for failsafe works? because I followed all directions for binding, but they don't work for me. everything you said in this video about how set up tx works perfectly, but the only thing that is not working when binding is failsafe mode. when I turned off tx , the dj naza assistant showed that throttle worked but did not failsafe mode
Sergio Porras Just make sure when you bind your Rx for failsafe, have the throttle approximately 50% and have put all the switches in the correct position. Whatever positions you put them on to trigger failsafe on the Naza software should be the same position when you bind your rx to failsafe setup. Hope this makes sense.
Thanks I will try your setup (:
ok I set up my remote control on failsafe mode but is not working when turn off my control, don't go to failsafe mode in the djnaza software
Check out this video from this guy. He demonstrates how to program failsafe on the Rx. I used this video when I did mine. Hope this helps.

I going to follow all the steps you write down. I let you know if that works for me. thank you
Sergio Porras
Good luck!
I have a hornet 460 with dx6i x orange r615 I cant get the mc off and I have a yellow fast flashing light any one know how to get it to work ?
+Kris Shelton Start with the simple stuff, double check all connections and software setup. That's all I can suggest without actually seeing whats going on.
got a crack on your Tx...
also naza m lite
How did you calibrate your compass with the dx6i
I tried allready, but it's something with the orange R620 receiver. He has two possible ways to go in failsafe. But when I try to program, I don't have respond on the naza screan
pity he didn't set up manual mode.. would have been nice to know how..
I have the dx61 and naza. I can't get the motors to spin up when hooked up the the USB. I'm sure it is something I'm doing wrong. I couldn't find anywhere where is showed the last two wires from receiver to NAZA so I just have the first 4 hooked up. Could you please tell me how you set up the last two connections? One is "gear" and the last is "aux 1"? Thanks
Hallo! can you tell me please how you calibrate your compass????
Hi, nice video!! A question, with this configuration in the dx6i, how do you activate the POI function? Thanks!!
+Erick Silva POI? not sure what this is. Can you clarify?
Oh, thought you we're gonna show how you did it. Bummer.
+Da Aa Everything you need to know is in the video.
Great video, I like the 2 camera setup. Makes it very easy to understand. Thanks much for posting it.
What version software is that you are using. Mine looks different.
+Joshua Kincaid You probably have a newer version. I made this video a couple of years ago.
Thanks
Thanks it work perfectly.

Thanks chris miller.i will go through this carefully.
***** I will send you all the ones that I think might help. Other people explain it differently.
Oh yes that will be great
Like your video nice.
