Like the S550 and l do think the S650 is appealing however, base @ 46k, premium @ 58k, rag top @65k, way over priced & Dark Horse @ 75k ridiculous. Ford has in my opinion priced the 2024 Mustangs out of the market, their not moving off dealer lots in my local area. I've owned 5 mustangs, '65, '71, '05 & 2 '21's which were purchased new & prices were reasonable, I'll stay with the '21 S550 & continue to invest in reasonable upgrade mods. I enjoy the channel, your doing a great job. Peace!
I've looked at a Race Red base Dark Horse Mustangs starting at $61,000..Base GTs starting at $41,000. No markups. The reason the Mustangs sales are slow is due to it being winter with factory tires that are terrible in cold weather plus the high Automotive financing interest rates. Depending on your credit rating. Ford Credit is currently offering low rates and lease rates on many Ford vehicles. Unfortunately other lenders are averaging 9% to 14% and higher interest rates again depending on your credit rating. Here's a Dark Horse in my Area (DC ) still nicely equipped. Click all the options on a Dark Horse and your going to $70,000. The same applies to a loaded GT premium where your looking at the upper $50,000. I looked at a couple left over 2023 GTs premiums and they're at $50,000 *$61,650 KOONS PRICE*
My local dealer got 5 new GT's (4 of them premium) all but one over 50k msrp, since October last year only 1 has sold. Nobody in my area seems to want the new cars. What if gas stations could get oil from Venezuela and other countries without being killed by the United States & England it would be fair trade. You're just a bunch of slaves.
It is unfortunately just not worth the price of 75k. Not when the Zl1 is still available and you are knocking on the door of BMW m3 pricing. And a BMW m2 can be had forothermid 60k. There is just no value in the Mustang Dark Horse or Mustang for that matter. If they redid the entire car with a brand new platform and had cut the weight by 500 lbs, since it is a fatstang, then maybe. But they didn't do enough to differentiate from the S550. Heck, you can find C8 for the price or cheaper than one of these. It's just hard to buy one of these when there are so many other good options. The Mustang is no longer the value buy.
I love mustangs and I’ve owned several 5.0s myself. The new s650 is way overpriced and it’s kept me from buying one. I make plenty of money so that’s not the issue. I just feel ford like other manufacturers have out priced themselves

So, you are saying that only the Dark Horse has those track apps? Now the numbers on that dyno test with the Whipple... that car does have long tubes on it.... so there is some extra power there. The fact they didn't need to retune after a pulley change really surprised me. It shows how good the Whipple tune is. Glad you are happy with your purchase. The interest rates are going to keep sales down. Maybe dealers will finally get rid of the ADM to move some cars. Looking forward toseeing thee future for you car!
Hey there I finally became a c8 owner and want to tell the truth to both you and your viewers. Seen the Dark Horse on the street in person and the rear view the tail lights as well is fantastic! and the car looks better more compact in person than on any video. The sound is good breathing great. Dry weather handling very good sticky, driver feedback of info and confidence inspiring not so good. Sure with a supercharger will be much better
@youcdtube I have to ask. Do you live in an area where it's cold and snows? Do you drive your C8 in the winter? The few C8 and C7 owners I know rarely use their Vettes in the winter. I'm also curious how you know how a Dark Horse handles if as you stated. You were seeing them driving on the streets. Have you actually driven one? My extended test drive in a handling package 6 speed Dark Horse with the handling package, it's new steering rack and Magna Ride was amazing to drive while adding stopping power from the massive Brembo brakes that Motor Trend said rivaled Supercars stopping distances. The NA Gen 4 Coyote also provided excellent performance while the Getrag transmission provided smooth rev matching shifts. Regarding the summer performance tires. Ford recommends like other manufacturers. These type of tires can lose traction when temperatures fall below 50'F. I loved the Dark Horse from it's overall exterior design. Fantastic digital screens. Comfortable interior to it's refined daily driver sports car demeanor, but because I need a full size vehicle. I've decided my next new vehicle will be a refreshed 2025 Explorer ST when available late 2024. I'm hoping when it's time to replace my wife's vehicle. She'll enjoy sn automatic Dark Horse.
I’ve never owned a mustang but have always wanted one but I did want a GT350 but now I want something with warranty just in case so I’m looking at the 2024 GT performance pack and I did want the manual but I’ve been seeing the gear lock out and such so now I’m leaning towards the 10R80 trans but I’m just watching videos to figure out which mustang I want to get. The dark horse is over priced with dealer markups right now.
As nice as it is, it’s still never gonna be a GT350. That motor is on another level! Now don’t get me wrong, but the GT350 walks the DH. Still two good looking cars, it’s just the Shelby has more sexy.
I hear ya brotha. Bought mine off the showroom floor in '18 and won't trade it for anything. It gets a lot of respect out there. Don't hardly see them around anymore.
Im a 2015 GT owner who was looking to upgrade who has been kinda disappointed with the s650. For me, it's just not different enough to justify the VERY high price. Then there were some really questionable decisions. The worst of all being the increased weight. I remember complaining about the s550 weight but the s650 is approaching Dodge Challenger weight. Weight just hurts everything. I also really dont like the gloss black lipstick on the Gt's front bumper. Then there's the Dark Horse. I like the look of the DH but again...its not different enough to justify the price. It's basically a Mach 1 replacement thats significantly more money. The name Dark Horse is also bizarre. A screaming 5.0 v8 is not a "dark horse". That name and definition make far more sense for the Mach E. The emblem is kinda uhhhhh girly... just looks like something my gf in middle school wouldve drawn. Idk. Hopefully there's some cooler models coming out but im sure they'll be approaching 911 territory in terms of cost... it may be time for me to move on from Mustang but we'll see.

I love my 19' GT, but Mustangs and especially the Dark Horse, are too expensive for being essentially a GT. I paid $37K for a base model A10. Essentially my car was 41K including 19x10 wheels, 285/35/19 tires, lowering springs, digital cluster, 8" infotainment. In my area, the only other Shadow Black mustang was a GT premium A10 (non performace pack) for $45K. So i am very happy with the price range I was at.
Yeah mine was 75K as well but hey so far I’ve been having fun with the dark horse. I sold my 2018 for the dark horse and I haven’t regretted my choice. The price point is where the problem really is
Would be interested in what other models are coming out. Are they going to have a GT500? If not, I'm looking for one that is a couple of years old. They are reasonable for pricing now and a beast!
I wish us 2020-2023 GT500 owners could get an update to include the rev feature!!! Stangmode, since you have to connections, PLEASE!?!? .... with sugar on top (Pulp Fiction reference there)! If only the US manufacturers could get with what Mercedes E class owners get for a touchscreen... I would 100% be in with that. I am liking the rear.. growing on me as with the GTD. Look for loans to come down last half this year.
When I buy a sports car , it's not for video games , infotainment crap , or key fob being used to rev the car. Disgusting , I'm on to some other video.
The screens aren't the big issue, Its the slapping them on the dash like an afterthought, It will Never grow on me and I Hope Ford encloses it at minimum in the future,or I guess I will never one Also to ad,75k YIKES ,I thought my 2024 2SS 1LE M6 with performance data recorder &red seatbelts (with car cover added) was Ridiculous at $57,880 ,BUT 75K Holy $hit ,No way I'd pay that for a Darkhorse ,Car prices went Stupid ,I hope as they come down Manufacturers will also msrp cars back to what they should be ...FJB

These cars can look good. Like what RTR did and I think I seen a Saleen that was pretty cool. But the way they come stock isn't doing for me, especially the GT. Dark horse is slightly better. I can work around the grill with something aftermarket but I still hate that they got rid of the body lines and made the door and fender more smooth. It looks cheap. Just my 2 cents
It blows me that people really think that the s650 looks like a camaro. Yall must forgot ford and Aston Martin shared the same body structure since they had partnership in parts and design.
Got 7% interest rate on my 19 gt I got in 22 annoyed I’m paying $120 of interest a month with my payment! $357 total payment just annoying amazing credit dosent matter! I saw 1.9%apr on 60months for new mustangs was Thinking about getting one then but it’s already gone
I just don't see that big of a difference between the Mach1 and the Dark Horse to warrant the extra $. Mach1 with performance pckg check marks all the boxes both with looks and coyote durability and tunability, etc.
The Dark Horse is only for mustang fans i feel it makes no sense to get one over its competitors for a track car especially. For the same price you can buy a Zl1, similar weight, 150 more hp, better aero, I’m not going to say with certainty better handling because I haven’t driven a Dark Horse, but from other mustangs a Zl1 would possess better handling. To each their own depends on what u want for yourself but is not justifiable 75k maybe 60
Very cool cars, enjoyed the ride on these S650's, more so on the Dark horse, but they are way out of my price range, but to honest S550's are out of my price range, I will stay with my 04 New Edge Mustang GT. I think you should get Black Mamba out of moth balls dust her off and do some vids.
What is the benefit of paying over $30,000 premium for a mustang that isn't driven on the autobahn? Better 0-60 mph times from stoplight to stoplight? Quicker 0 to 100 mph plus on highways than your average Honda or Hyundai? the only option at that point probably would be more boss 302's
IDK, $10K less + the 6SPD TREMEC.
WHY does the GT500 have no manual option??
I mean the GT350, all day, though that 5.2L FPC is exotic.
@@drx1xym154 Ford was shooting for more of a refined experience apparently. Engineer said during an interview that the dual clutch keeps unwanted motion during cornering.
@@drx1xym154 I have the 2020 GT500. I can understand why they went with the DCT, but to your point, a manual option should have been available. Personally, if I had a choice, I think I still would have gone with the DCT. NGL, I do paddle shift it a lot :)
GT500 > Dark Horse
It's pretty cut and dry.
Seems like some nice upgrades over the last gen Mustang GT, but I still think getting a used 2018 GT with Performance Package and Recaro seats is a better value. Do u think it's worth paying double the price for a Dark Horse?
I love mine in shadow black I think this with a blower is a monster it’s nuts I know it will be whipple
I just seen your car at the Evolution Performance car show in Aston, Pa yesterday…beautiful car man!
I have a 2021 GT. Glad for the price (47g's).
Oh, i run on regular😄gas.😊
I'm really hoping that there will be something to replace those buttons in the aftermarket in the future. I just miss mine right now, in storage another couple months.
What is the cannon air filter up grade he is talking about
I so do appreciate the Dark Horse. I. Sure you’ve mentioned it, but if so, I’ve forgotten. What’s the 27 for?
It’s just a racing number they give you at the track
really liked this video. 6 months really allows you to assess the vehicle. Also like your comments on why it may not have taken off yet, as price point is high. But so is tge price of after market when you include labor and the problems that can come up. Ready to roll sounds great to me.
Your event sounds like alot of fun. Alas its East Coast, but will be watching that day for sure.
Is that supercharged or turbo? If not I'm curious if you could put in bc there is like 0 room under the hood
Naturally aspirated gas.
I just paid off my 2021 CX5, I got it as a future family car (gonna have wife popping out a kid soon) but I really want just a ME car. It’s between this or a Challenger RT. The thing is, the interior of a challenger is just so trash. This looks like a nice overall package. I think I might pull the trigger. I could start financing it and definitely pay it off in 2 years.
Dooooooo it!! I want this car as well! If I had the cash to do it now, I would. I'm a father as well. We need our toys lbs. My homie just ordered a Vet z06. That's way more than what we want, but we have one life to live, just live it.
Ouch, 16 mpg? I drive my 2021 Mach 1 hard and consistently get 23 mpg.
I Purchased a 2022 mustang gt 5.0 premium 401A black on black w/ 1700 miles, $48k from bridgewater Acura in N.J, i have no complaints about my car, love the exhaust, and its a hea d turner
Congratulations
Are those Recaro seats?
Nope fat guy seats 💺 💯
Yo does the quarter mile reader work...is it accurate in the car....
Only $3.87 in Jersey surprised the hell out of me. Here in N Texas, it is $3.49. Doesn't Jersey still have full service only? Hell of a price.
In Canada (West coast) 91 octane is $2.10/L or $7.96/G 😐
I have a 2021 GT base 10r80 355rear gear, bought new for 40k.
I looked at a couple left over 2023 GTs premiums and they're at $50,000
*$61,650
KOONS PRICE*
My local dealer got 5 new GT's (4 of them premium) all but one over 50k msrp, since October last year only 1 has sold. Nobody in my area seems to want the new cars. I personally special ordered my '23 after the reveal knowing I wasn't gonna want the '24 and beyond for many, many reasons (locked ECU, horrible looking ipod dash, Camaro like body lines, stupid price increases).
I really like the dark horse… is it worth it over a GT? I don’t know but I will say it’s better looking than a GT IMO
Insurance is cheaper for Vetts ,if i had known i wouldn't have gotten a mustang
StangMode interest rates means nothing. I paid 75k+ for my Dark Horse. I gave the dealer CASH. I've only had mine 1 months, but no buyer remorse whatsoever. Only 294 miles on it and 175/180 was driving home from the dealership. But I love it 💯. Much more than my other 2 mustangs "2000 GT, & 2008 GT
Some people may have the cash, but can't justify just dumping it all right away and not keeping some of it as an emergency fund. Everyone's situation is different
@@mistamaog This...this right here. TONS of people have the cash, they choose not to spend it on a depreciating asset. I paid cash for my C8 Corvette, and it didn't mean anything. LOL.
Seems like some nice upgrades over the last gen Mustang GT, but I still think getting a used 2018 GT with Performance Package and Recaro seats is a better value. Do u think it's worth paying double the price for a Dark Horse?
0% financing on my car. Why would you pay in cash 😂
@@alschoenbeck2615 Especially with HYSA’s returning 5%+ right now. Was that 0% on an s650?
I got a zl1, but that remote Rev woulda got my ass at the dealership no lie
Thought the same chevy didn't have a ton of upgrades I got the red seat belt carbon fiber inside I'm looking at stangs than the m4 70k is not far off from a m4 comp 😂
when you say it's slow does that mean slow slow or slow compared to previous mustang models?
I live in Vancouver Canada. Yesterday it was down to the low gas warning so a 1/4 of a tank. To fill it up cost me $110. Man would love to fill up for $50.
Write your criminal politicians. There is no gas shortage. The gangster European bankers and ruling class has hijacked oil & gas distribution that's why you're paying so much. What if gas stations could get oil from Venezuela and other countries without being killed by the United States & England it would be fair trade. You're just a bunch of slaves.
Why change the exhaust when the factory wants sound great 👍👍
It is unfortunately just not worth the price of 75k.
Pardon my ignorance but why are these new mustangs aren't tuneable? Can't people unlock or hack into the ecu?
I love mustangs and I’ve owned several 5.0s myself. The new s650 is way overpriced and it’s kept me from buying one. I make plenty of money so that’s not the issue. I just feel ford like other manufacturers have out priced themselves
75k can fetch you a new C8. Overall Dark Horse will be a nice collector car down the road.
I think that's a really good point. I agree, these cars will sadly be more appreciated after the fact.
This is my dream car. But dark gray with the clear matter wrap as well. I will get this when the time is right.
It’s a clean ass car. Mean n clean. I love the 5.0 and they got everything right mechanically. It is expensive af sum I can’t afford rn. In a year these cars will be out there pushing 1200+ on the streets easy. They will be fast once it’s all out there
The color selection is what kills it for me..I would like a need for green or a competition orange..
StangMode Great Video I think it's awesome that you've had a 6 months with Papa Smurf and Darth Vader and I can't wait to see what the future for S650 Mustangs has in store
Oh, I can tell you what it has in store. Electricity.
Where is the race on 4/14??
No buyers remorse on mine 825mi and counting. Only thing troubling me is whipple now or wait for FBO+E85+TUNE then later whipple.
Idk. Hopefully there's some cooler models coming out but im sure they'll be approaching 911 territory in terms of cost... it may be time for me to move on from Mustang but we'll see.
why would you get a darkhorse without the RECARO seats? i don't get it..
HEY STANGMODE!...GREAT REVIEW OF THE 2024 S650 DARK HORSE!...NOW, HAVE YOU HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT THE COMING 2024 S650 SALEEN S302 BLACK LABEL AND THE 2024 S650 SHELBY AMERICAN BUILT SHELBY MUSTANG COMING SOON?...I AM JUST SAYING!...KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND GOD BLESS AMERICA! 😇
I just got me a dark horse and I love it so much.
Stang, Ya if someone is in the market absolutely get it 💯
SO how does the Darkhorse compare to the Hulk? Beyond the obvious, which is power, How does the car fair agaisnt the GT500 overall?
i gave up my gt, and went back to the last camaro... 24 2ss! :)
Every time I drive a mustang 🐎 I think of you Mr stangmode
❤ thanks 🙏 fam
Yeah mine was 75K as well but hey so far I’ve been having fun with the dark horse. I sold my 2018 for the dark horse and I haven’t regretted my choice. The price point is where the problem really is
I am not an NA car guy, but this car is beautiful!
Looking @ darkhorse in UK they are listed at £65k,given its a 500bhp car it seems decent value.
I recommend microfiber towels for cleaning your mirrored glasses man.
I’m not sure, but going to the Stage 2 Whipple Supercharger you may not get the Warranty as you do with the Stage 1.
When I buy a sports car , it's not for video games , infotainment crap , or key fob being used to rev the car. Disgusting , I'm on to some other video.
Yep! People now buy cars for gimmicks that "thrill" 😂 instead of the cars driving abilities being the thrill.
Stay mad bozo
I still haven’t seen a single S650 driving around in person.
I only saw one. I was amazed to see it. Lol
I live in az and I have a gla 45 amg. I wish I could find 93 octane out here. 91 is the best it gets put here.
it's incredible because you can get a S550 GT500 for that price or a well spec GT350R
The screens aren't the big issue, Its the slapping them on the dash like an afterthought, It will Never grow on me and I Hope Ford encloses it at minimum in the future,or I guess I will never one
Also to ad,75k YIKES ,I thought my 2024 2SS 1LE M6 with performance data recorder &red seatbelts (with car cover added) was Ridiculous at $57,880 ,BUT 75K Holy $hit ,No way I'd pay that for a Darkhorse ,Car prices went Stupid ,I hope as they come down Manufacturers will also msrp cars back to what they should be ...FJB
I searched So Cal for a used Darkhorse, and a number of them came up; one had less than 6k miles and 8 owners!
Did you confirm 8 owners on CarFax? It sounds like the dealer played some games getter that car. from another dealer(s). Do you live in California? What's the price and is it heavily optioned. I can refer you to some local dealers who had some new Dark Horse and at least one used they sold to an employee and purchased back to get one on their lot.
Here's a new base Race Red Dark Horse
$61,565
KOONS PRICE
I predict next year you will post a video of the 10 things wrong with the Dark Horse and why we should buy the $99k 5000lb Mustang truck.....because you know (the BS) it never ends
lmao!
Ordered my Dark Horse in march 2023 and still not in. I cancelled the order and bought a New Lexus is500f. Glad I did.
The 2024 Dark Horse vs a 2023 GT500. These GT500s are now less that the DHs.
I'll take the 23 GT500 everyday and thrice on Sundays.
Thanks for sharing your experience with the dark horse ❤
There are a few new 2024 White dark horses left in Canada 🇨🇦 and I think I’m gonna pull the trigger and buy myself a Christmas present 🎁.
These will be getting a lot more expensive in 2025 and 2026 because our Canadian dollar is losing value(6% this year)vs The US dollar 💵 , which means that us goods are going to cost us a hefty increase going forward.
Cheers 🍻
These cars can look good. Like what RTR did and I think I seen a Saleen that was pretty cool. But the way they come stock isn't doing for me, especially the GT. Dark horse is slightly better. I can work around the grill with something aftermarket but I still hate that they got rid of the body lines and made the door and fender more smooth. It looks cheap. Just my 2 cents
It blows me that people really think that the s650 looks like a camaro. Yall must forgot ford and Aston Martin shared the same body structure since they had partnership in parts and design.
From the sides is the Camaro 😂
The dark horse is the best mustang ever. The only problem is the price
Dude hows that crack smoke?
Got 7% interest rate on my 19 gt I got in 22 annoyed I’m paying $120 of interest a month with my payment! $357 total payment just annoying amazing credit dosent matter! I saw 1.9%apr on 60months for new mustangs was
Thinking about getting one then but it’s already gone
The Darkhorse just doesn’t look like a 70000 dollar car. It’s not a Shelby so it’s just another Mustang.
I hope Raxiom makes gen5 tail lights for the s650's cuz. Not a fan of those crooked ones. :/
Man what that was a quick 6 months
Time flies ❤
I just don't see that big of a difference between the Mach1 and the Dark Horse to warrant the extra $. Mach1 with performance pckg check marks all the boxes both with looks and coyote durability and tunability, etc.
PLEASEEEE BRING BACK THE S550 interior😭
I just seen my first one out here in El Paso
The paint has gold flakes? I didn’t know
I could have had a Dark Horse but ultimately opted for a 2017 GT350.
6:33 Actually there is a 2024 Camaro, but it’s The Final Year. 😢. Sadder for me that there isn’t a 2024 Charger or Challenger being a MOPAR Guy 😎👍
Very cool cars, enjoyed the ride on these S650's, more so on the Dark horse, but they are way out of my price
range, but to honest S550's are out of my price range, I will stay with my 04 New Edge Mustang GT. I think you
should get Black Mamba out of moth balls dust her off and do some vids.
What is the benefit of paying over $30,000 premium for a mustang that isn't driven on the autobahn? Better 0-60 mph times from stoplight to stoplight? Quicker 0 to 100 mph plus on highways than your average Honda or Hyundai? How often is one going to the track to get the most excitement out of the car? - - - Speeding/reckless driving charges seems to be the benefit that best fits the demographic buying the Mustang Dark Horse type of car.
All I have to say is they should of put in the Aussie Barra 4LT 6 in the Mustang.
The screens are the best part of the dark horse! The only sad part about the dark horse is the price.
MORE special Mustangs means MORE hype videos >>>> HIGHER prices and HIGHER dealer mark ups...
I'll wait a year or so to buy it. Probably be like 10-12k less and still decent mileage.
