    Good job Dave, those saw-chains are brutes for sure. You can grub closer to and in the ground and resarpen the teeth easily. I punctured a couple tires leaving the stubs too long and I decided to take them down to ground level because new chains are cheaper than tires and I now don't trip so much. Those stubs can hurt the body when you fall on them.
    I see the goats approve of your clearing also ;-) !! Thanks for sharing and keep up the good videos, we like them.

      Thank you! I sure was fun and seemed pretty easy to use. I’ll probably go back through after I clean up the brush and recut those stubs real low as well! Thanks for watching, take care :)

    The only worry I have is damaging my 'engine/clutch' cable shaft inside from the abrupt hits and stress. I already previously destroyed one with an edger attachment and it wasn't pretty. I must research for replacement cables 'ON THE ENGINE end, NOT the attachment end........... If it was the attachment end, I could just buy new attachment shafts, and my Craftsman 2 stroke is a 25cc, so it should be just fine since most are using these on 21cc engines.

      Yes that's definitely a problem you could have! I like this blade because I use it like a chainsaw, starting into the larger pieces slow and letting it do the cutting. If you swing into bigger brush hard you could definitely make yourself some problems. In my opinion this is a much better choice than the star blades.

    This cuts great.... The only thing that is ... if one simply cuts off and leaves a bunch of stubs ,,, its like a mine field of potential danger if anyone falls on one of them, otherwise you'd have to go back again with pruners and trim the stubs again down to ground level so no one falls on one and potentially gorges themselves. ...

    • @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm
      @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does work very well, you have a good point but this was turned into a pasture where after maintaining it for a few years they basically rotted off and no longer pose that danger. Thanks for watching

    I'd like to know how to install one of these on my old but still really good husqvarna model 128ld weedeater.plus I've got a really good old club cadet really powerful weedeater that has a triangle style blade that doesn't cut brush worth a poop at all now.but with this blade both trimmers would work great for me again now as far as brush cutting go!?

      Hello Pete, they sell adapter kits for them but I had spare washers and spacer around the shop so I had used them along with the retaining nut from an old head to install this one. Works great! Thanks for watching

      Hey Danny, they sell a kit that makes the proper mount but I had just used a bit from an old head that would thread on the shaft and proper sized flat washers. Works great but isn’t the correct way to mount it! Hope that helps, I appreciate ya watching. Take care!

    Is this blade as good as the Renegade brush cutting blade? Been thinking about getting a Echo SRM 225 gas weedeater, and a brush cut conversion kit to do brush cutting. I hear the blade that comes with the brush cut conversion kit may get dull fast.

      Hey and thanks for watching! I would be pretty certain it would, it may take some spacers or washers and creative thinking but that’s how I have it fitted on here. They do sell a specific blade adapter kit for the proper install but this way works great for me :) hope that helps, take care!

    • @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm
      @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it would have to be a heavy duty one if so, this trimmer worked great for me, as you said the bigger stuff I just let spin up for a second first and it went to town! @VoteForTRUMP I have the echo srm266s with the 25.4cc. It seems to spin 10 inch renegade dark silver blades with no effort. It took a minute but I cut through an 8 inch branch today no problem. As long as you avoid rocks and keep it out of the dirt the blade will easily last 8 hours or more cutting 1-3 inch scrub oak. I'd probably start with the 8 inch renegade blade on your smaller echo.
