Micro apartment living is exactly what i want. Idk what it is but making such small spaces work is just so appealing to me. Im moving to Vancouver beginning of June. Im so excited and a place like this will do it for me.
The micro apartment is too small for me, but I love all the amenities the building has. It reminds me of the nano-suite dorms at UBC with its size, but I like that the dorms have beds that convert to desks rather than having two separate furniture items. More space efficient in my opinion
I have a two bedroom 1 bath apartment for $515 a month. That has trash and water included. The price has increased since I moved in to $550 for a two bed but I'm still at the $515 price. It is insane to me that people pay $1000+ for a studio the size of my bedroom. I get this whole apartment to MYSELF. Studios need to be $500 to $600.
It's funny because the 385 sqft appartment is a regular size for a one bedroom in Paris and the 100 sqft room it's a regular size for a student room. So it's funny to see what we call Tiny in Canada when parisian will really join the line to live in apartments like that. Nevertheless the prices of these properties are higher than those of Parisian apartments and it's crazy to think that the prices in Vancouver are similar to those in Paris but in comparison you will never have an apartment with so many services and these views in Paris.
I'm 6ft 4in tall so probably wouldn't fit in the shower in the Micro-Suite. Whilst the building does have good facilities it looks like it has taken its inspiration from an episode of Black Mirror.
When I was young and poor I lived in what's the size of a dorm room, because that's what it used to be. The entire apartment complex used to be part of a university dorm housing. It's no longer considered part of the school campus and the dorms were renovated into tiny apartments. You have enough to sleep, shower and grab a bite to eat. But there's also a pool, a club house, etc. and everyone kind of knows each other. It really worked well for me at the time, but now that I'm older and very sick, I have too much medical equipment that would nevere fit in a tiny home.
I would love to live in a very small space, even a one room apartment. I'm only 5'6" weight in at 143lbs, I am a 62 yr old male senior and I'm single. I'm perfect for this type of life and will be working on it as I age.
Currently I live in a studio, and I have found great joy living here. The location, and ease of upkeep are great benefits. I can consider the microapartment if work/pleasure options were walkable distance. Is the gym/pool use included in the rent?
My first place in Washougal was a tiny house built in 1920 it was 400sq ft. I loved it but they kept raising the rent on me. From $600 to $1100 per month over a year and a half. The landlords didn't do anything to the house. I made the upgrades.
why not just take the common area space and use it for the apartments and give a good deal on rent? everybody's got to be greedy and masquerade it as hip innovation.
Hi! guys, is there any chance you're living in that tiny apartment? Sharing spaces like a kitchen or bathroom is stressful for me, especially when landlords rent out even a living room to more than one person. So, I'm really tempted to find out more about that building, the smallest apartment, because at least I know it would be only my own space if I rented there. But I do want to hear about the living experience from anyone who has lived or is currently living there.(the latest experience, the better)
That couple's place is just nice for 1 person but why the hell it's 2k/mth? That's crazy when there's no condo facilities like pool and function rooms.
Average is around $2600 right now.... and so I totally understand. No for sure way to get a good deal, best thing to do is look every day multiple times a day ://
I just moved to Vancouver and I’m renting a cute basement in Burnaby for 2200! Where do you finding those prices😅I don’t see any apartment for less than 2200-2300😂
the whole point of living in a small appartment is to have rent like 600-700$ month... 1200$ for a box? thats stupid. also paying for location? is also another stupid problem. if you were born in BC and dont have the opportunity to move or unwilling to seperate from families and friend you shouldnt have to suffer 2k/months appartment prices just because you live "in a good city"
We are being brainwashed into thinking micro living is the way to live. 100 Sq. ft is not an apt. It's a space. I lived in 188 Sq ft for a time, and it was fine. But to think one day soon, developers and governments will be shoving us into tiny boxes for their benefit. The rent will increase to the point where we can't afford these units, and we will wonder what happened to normal living. Just think, developers can build 5 times more units in one building. They do that in Japan.
Do NOT and I mean do NOT invest the rest of your income in "travel" and "experiences", you should be investing in Apple, Microsoft, S&P500, saving as much as possible. The reason being when you're 55 or 60 you may not be able to work as often or as hard as you can now in the prime earning years of your life, and those travel and experiences you had aren't going to help you in that situation.
@@Sabrina_MI The value and quality of life is not in empty travels and experiences for instagram reels it's the people you surround yourself with throughout.
@@hmmm2564 true. But for every day of travelling now, you could travel ~15 days when you are 60. My parents went on most basic vacations until a couple of years ago... now they saw the whole world.. just today they went to Australia actually😀 and they also helped me in life to the point where i (and my wife for that matter) can go on vacations and plenty more, while only working couple of hours a day. And i will be able to help my kids. I personally would never work for vacations. If money doesn't come easy, i am not going anywhere. If i must work 10 hours or even more for one day of vacation, no thanks😀 it is not that good!😀 again, that is just me ofc. I also stopped partying when i was like 18-19 (yes this is balkan we party before 18 or 21😁), when i started dating my now wife, so vacations since then are quite similar to what my parents are doing anyway😀 One more: renting long term is quite stupid as loan payment would probably be similar to rent, or often even smaller. So all you need if 20% upfront and you will own the whole thing in 20-30 years, without any additional expenses after that first 20%. Yes, saving now is worth so much more than saving later.😀
I have been living in a 426 sq ft studio condominium apt building for 29 years. I own the unit and could never think of living in anything else

Vancouver sucks. Don't move there.
Samee! I love micro apartments

What city are you in? I'm an a 323sqf "studio"and pay $1500 in So. Cal
I just rented a 100 sq ft micro back house for $1300 a month in Los Angeles. It's the cheapest place I could find and its perfect for me.
i would live in the micro for a couple of yrs to save. its a good way to have money to invest or start a business etc.

The micro apartment is 2.5X more expensive per sq/ft then market rate downtown.
It's in effect an SRO with ammenities.
Love the couple's apartment, but the little balcony would make me "contemplate" jumping.

Please!! Make a video talking about living in a city near Vancouver, like Surrey, Coquitlam, New Westminster, etc… Love your videos ❤
I wanted to comment that in Japan they have crazy small apartments, until seeing how small that second apartment is :)
love ths content!!! i live in a studio as well but think it might be worth the cost.
One word: families. Building more like apartments like this will not solve the housing crisis.
but it will help especially for single young adults kicking in life, albeit a pretty hefty housing market at the moment
Families can either cram more people into one apartment or rent additional apartments.
For those living in or close to poverty in the U.S., 80 square foot studios or smaller are the norm.

It's all about storage in these small spaces. But if the room is long and narrow, you can do wonders.
Coming back to Vancouver the real estate 🏡 market is very competitive and prices will keep going up

I would prefer the former over the latter (its too small Adam).
Thank you bro for this vlog, No, Thank you, I prefer to visit BC 3 times a year from Toronto rather than paying for the opportunity 😇
I really liked this video, very interesting!
Definitely more than 100sqft
200 square ft. Is doable.
Loved this video
fireplace without heat 😆Seth Rogan prayer candle, I don't know what's worse.
For everyone normal: it‘s about 9,29 m^2
Nice work with the new editing style
Rent amount is shown at 7:27.

I don’t have all those amenities, but I have a nice 850 sq. ft. apt. With 2 bedrooms for $650 in Wisconsin USA.
I love your voice
micro apts are just another way to grab some cash for a doghouse, selling it as hip and cool
Exactly. Perfect for a starter home or getting people off the street. But they have to keep them affordable or geared to income.
Nice videos Adam, you should keep posting more like vlog style, with the good vibes etc....
You know what Ricardo, I just decided today I was gonna do more of those again :D
Coming soon!!

Do Toronto have something like this? 😍
would love a Shopify dropshipping tutorial!
lol, I know what building this is in, my friend is in the same one.
Looks much bigger
I live in a 2000sqft home, but I'm getting a 96ft shed made in backyard for home office. So looking forward to it!
I'm moving to Vancouver in 2 weeks and struggling to find any 1 bed with decent space for less than 2500 😶

I could live in the 1st place by myself, but never with another person.
WHAT is the first one called😭 Would love to live there!!
Dude, it's not close to kits. It's about a block and a half from VGH. That's not Kitsilano. Stop calling it that.
You can't have anything if you have tiny. I mean if you want a homestead you gotta have outbuildings. 😂

It might go for those rates in a normal city. Paying extra for the view is incredibly stupid!
600-700$?? That‘s super expensive, you could get an apartment with 4 rooms for that
250-300€ ist a cheap price for one room
100 sq ft apartment.... probably no parking as well
That apt living i call them and email them so many times with no replies or atleast an effort if i am being turned down or what

heyy, i just watched ur 5 tips for game design video, but now it seems like u switched passions so like, why did u stop pursuing game dev?
I love the micro living! I have a Gem 300sqft micro suit in gastown 1800 come check mine out hehe
This is NOT 100 sq ft for sure.
its giving dorm vibes, but in a good way
lol no.
😂... ya nah.
This is defo not 100 sq ft
Quite big compared to Japanese ones 😂
