I lived in Toronto in the '70's Loved every minute of it. I paid 175$ per month back then after checking that same apartment is now 2,800$ However, the building does have a pool, squash courts & 2 outdoor tennis 🎾 courts!

It’s great, but they over charge ppl for a closet and get away with fleecing ppl to live with far less. That is someone’s closet in a house, or just the baby’s room. Soon ppl will be sleeping standing in a 200 sq. ft. studio like sardines. It amazes me what landlords r getting away with and consider is ok, and get rich on forcing ppl to downsize to closet size apartment.
That wine is made by two black women who are sisters. They are really doing well with it right now I don’t drink alcohol. But I give it as a gift to people.
Everything has a theme of navy, tan, beige, white. Pops of living green. Soothing to the eye. And even though there are plenty of personal design elements, there is NO clutter!
I don't like too many small plants all over; I 've heard it is better to keep them together in the same way you would do with a collection of similar items !!
What is remarkable about this space is how well thought out each piece, color, fabric and placement is...like you've been living there for years and adding little touches. Except that nothing is worn down, it's all cozy but fresh. This isn't regular decorating, this is the vision you pay someone good money for! I'm so inspired by this space! Brava!!

This is the most beautiful apartment. I love the way she goes about her job. But the truth is; without making good investments, no one can ascertain the kind of money required to own such properties. I am retiring next yr at 55 with 3 houses paid off worth 40.5 million. I realized that the secret to making a million is making better investments.

Placing the dresser in the kitchen "hallway" is a genius idea. It gives you storage, it separates the kitchen from the other areas and it creates an interesting focal point. Kirsten is extremely lucky as space is a luxury in NYC, a luxury usually only afforded to the very rich. To give some perspective, I guarantee that what Kirsten is paying in rent for her 500sqft studio in NYC is at minimum double, probably more like triple the cost of my monthly mortgage payment on my 2400sqft house.

Mirrors are the way forward, especially in small spaces, visually doubling up the size of a room, reflecting light and views from different angles. Lamps and discrete lighting make such a difference to the ambiance of a place. Well done!

I am one who wants both shower and tub. Unfortunately, the trend is updating over 60 apartments (in Senior communities) to only showers due to falls getting in/our of tubs. Would make made sense to convert to walk-in tubs w/showers- older ppl need to soak in tubs as they age plus those with Dementia develop an aversionto showers. A physical/sensation & psychological/regressive response.
@@lorriefinley3129 for me, being a disabled senior, a tub was a death trap. I have a walk-in shower now and it's so much safer. I have MS so I can't soak in a tub. I love the way this is decorated. It's neutral with pops of colour and so classy! I agree, you should be a decorater/designer

For 400 Sq Ft, this is very impressive. I am looking to move into a studio apartment that is 450 Sq ft. It definitely helped me get an idea on how to decorate and to utilize the space without any clutter. Thank you for sharing this with us!

The motivation I NEEDED for a studio. Really don’t “need” a bedroom considering I’ll be home alone 90% of the time. The design and layout is insanely cozy and aesthetically pleasing. Your direction is so inspiring. Personally would go for a bit more floor space, so walking is a bit more “breathable” but that’s relative to the owner of course.

Apartment does look great! Not sure if anyone wrote it, but...the skinny velvet hangers...they save so much space. You can add so much more!
They do. But they tend to snap if you hang something too heavy on it unless you're being very careful when you pull the hanger out of the wardrobe.

I actually thought all the shelves and surfaces were extremely cluttered with unnecessary decor items.. too busy for me. But each to their own.

@@Roxjetlagged - I've got news for you, most people living in NYC can't even afford to live on their own much less rent or buy a bigger apartment. Kirsten is extremely lucky as space is a luxury in NYC, a luxury usually only afforded to the very rich. To give some perspective, I guarantee that what Kirsten is paying in rent for her 500sqft studio in NYC is at minimum double, probably more like triple the cost of my monthly mortgage payment on my 2400sqft house.

But that's not realistic cuz this was just storage and living for one person. Adding two kids you'd need more room and storage. Could be done, but won't be as comfortable like this of course. Mirrors are the way forward, especially in small spaces, visually doubling up the size of a room, reflecting light and views from different angles. Lamps and discrete lighting make such a difference to the ambiance of a place. Well done!

I am one who wants both shower and tub. Unfortunately, the trend is updating over 60 apartments (in Senior communities) to only showers due to falls getting in/our of tubs. Would make made sense to convert to walk-in tubs w/showers- older ppl need to soak in tubs as they age plus those with Dementia develop an aversionto showers. A physical/sensation & psychological/regressive response.
@@lorriefinley3129 for me, being a disabled senior, a tub was a death trap. I have a walk-in shower now and it's so much safer. I have MS so I can't soak in a tub. I love the way this is decorated. It's neutral with pops of colour and so classy! I agree, you should be a decorater/designer
Im 64 , with 2 new knees , and not too big an apartment tub - so my days of a nice soak are far and few between.😉

The motivation I NEEDED for a studio. Really don’t “need” a bedroom considering I’ll be home alone 90% of the time. The design and layout is insanely cozy and aesthetically pleasing. Your direction is so inspiring. Personally would go for a bit more floor space, so walking is a bit more “breathable” but that’s relative to the owner of course.
