Commodore 64 was the most sold computer in Scandinavia back in the 80s and 90s. Many of the game developers of today in Scandniavia actually sprung out from the C64 demo scene! Another very popular computer was Amiga 500.
Amazing video MJR! I would love to travel someday to Norway. For me it's a dream country to visit. Watching a vinyl from Wardruna was an amazing surprise. that was an amazing gift definitely. I can't recommend it enough so you have to listen to it and have a fantastic experience. Thank you for these great videos.
Think when people asked you about our water. They more likley meant the tap water from the spring. As in most of norway you can drink clean water from the spring. So we mostly just buy a water bottle with water, and then refill it with tap water when its empty.
@@marbasfpv4639 because Norway's tap water pretty much taste like bottled and is clean and there's no chlorine in it in most places around the country. People mostly buy a bottle of water when out and about, nobody hoards a pallet of the stuff from the store lol. It's wasted money.
Same here in Finland. We drink tap water everywhere. And when hiking we boil straight from the lakes our drinking water. Norway and Finland are proud of the nature and cleanline we have maintained when most countries are becoming more and more polluted and over populated. We dont have those problems.

Those kid's games are originals from Norway. Josefine was a series of games, Kaptein Sabeltann/Capt. Sabertooth is an iconic character in Norwegian children's entertainment with plays, movies, TV-shows, music etc., Blåfjell was a Christmas calendar TV-show which they made into video games, board games, merch(woolen hats, sweaters etc.). I played a few of them when I was a kid.
I loved the Japan travel series and all the retro game store shopping there. Norway looks beautiful. Glad you got to visit and thanks for sharing your trip with us!

Unfortunately I got a bit too held up during the convention so I didn't really get a good chance to say hello, but I really enjoy these travel videos and I'm happy you had a good time.
Commodore dominated so much in Scandinavia and Europe that even IBM looked at them as a threat to their business around 1991. At this retro show in Sandefjord, i play on Vectrex 1982 console every year. It's tradition.
@@MetalJesusRocks Cool. They also had 2 Virtual Gameboy's there this year you could play on, but normally they had one in the past. I always try that one too. Vectrex is the most fascinating console to me. Wireframe 3D at 60 FPS in 1982. :)
I can only speak for myself, but I always miss and appreciate our tap water whenever I travel abroad. You're advised not to drink tap water in a lot of countries in Europe, and often times, bottled water doesn't taste all that great. So whenever I return to Norway after traveling, I always have an added sense of appreciation for our water that lasts for a little while before I start taking it for granted again 😂

Norway is honestly the country I want to immigrate to the most. The climate, the people, its been my goal for a long time. Also a blast to see Wardruna get a shout out, they also did music for Assassin's Creed Valhalla as well as Seasons 2+ for Vikings. I'm going to see them in a few weeks.

You should have gone to both the Kon-Tiki museum and the “The Fram” while in Oslo, Norway! You take a simple water ferry to it from central Oslo! I was there in June!

Home computers were so so popular in Europe and the UK. As a kid in the 80s everyone i knew has a Spectrum, Amstrad or Commodore. Some had Atari or Amiga too.
I can attest that going to different European countries via train is incredibly convenient and affordable, I love it! I haven't gone to Norway myself, but man, after watching your vids, I have to go one day!
