I truly agree !. He´s also very easy to understand for a non-native english speaker since he speaks clearly, never chooses "advanced" linguistic ways, and always deliver excellent sound quality. Then there are of course many different sub topics within the subject of gaming. Personally, i´m not a fan of the really hardcore japanese stuff (i actually own a NDS myself though, but i really don´t like it much. All things called "Pokemon" is TERRIBLE !. Not to mention 3D games on the GBA. It´s a bad joke !. ""-What is that ?. Pesto ?"". ""-No, it´s "Call of duty Heroes of the mess" on GBA !"". Boxed PC games are pretty boring too (with all of its settings, floppies, commands and shit). Everything that starts with "Xbox"/most of the "Playstation" and "GC/Wii" stuff is always fun and interesting to hear at !. Various gaming accessories, and also the (serious !) mini retro consoles too. Then i also grew up with "Atari 2600", and just like "Metal Jesus", my most played game was "H.E.R.O." with it. -And i made all the 20 levels, several times, too !. Intellivision, Colecovision, Vectrex, Vic 64, Atari 800 and somewhat Odyssey 2 ("Philips Videopac" in Europe), also has special places in my old 80´s kid heart.

I had never heard of Neseblod Records before this, but I instantly recognized the basement with "black metal" spray-painted on the wall. That would formerly have been Helvete, which was owned by Euronymous of Mayhem. Definitely a worthy place for a black metal museum.

The pink building when you pan around from the opera house (time 5:42) is where Funcom had their office early on. I used to sit in the glass area at the bottom on the second floor and worked on several SEGA Megadrive games including Daze Before Christmas, Pocahontas, NBA Hangtime and more. Unfortunately there was a massive barn in the way so I had no view of the water and a freeway cut off the building from the rest of the city so it was much more isolated than it appears today!

9:35 in my experience, converting voltage is almost never necessary, at least not with modern electronics. My phone charger, laptop charger, Nintendo Switch charger, Xbox Series S and even my monitor all specify 100-240V, 50/60Hz in the label, so you only need a dumb adapter for the plugs themselves, and no voltage conversion. Things like hair dryers, irons, etc. is another story though.

My wife and I spent five weeks in Norway earlier this summer, walking from Oslo to Trondheim in the north. Lots of memories are being sparked from your video. Those hotel breakfasts are LEGIT. Definitely became the biggest meal of the day for us. And restaurant prices are pretty insane. $80 for three people is pretty good actually for Norway. We often would go over $100 for beer, fries and burgers for two people. Norway is absolutely one of my favorite counties I’ve spent time in. Just incredibly kind and generous people, a very good vibe there. Cool to see some parts of the country we missed and looking forward to part two!

"BEHIND THE SCENES: Norway, land of fjords, skiing, and… black metal. Yep, the same country known for producing Nobel Peace Prize winners and picture-perfect nature scenes also gave birth to a music genre that sounds like a Viking raid set to guitar riffs. You have to admire the contrast: one moment Norwegians are peacefully cross-country skiing through tranquil forests, and the next, they're donning corpse paint and summoning the forces of darkness through a double bass drum beat. It’s as if someone looked at all that beautiful, calm Norwegian scenery and said, 'You know what this needs? Screaming.'
*Norway’s contribution to black metal is legendary-so much so that the music feels like an extension of the country’s winter: long, dark, and cold.* The genre’s pioneers went beyond music, dabbling in church burning and spiky leather accessories, turning a typical Wednesday into a metal apocalypse. And while the rest of the world may associate Norway with reindeer and serenity, the black metal scene has given it a reputation for being a place where a peaceful hike can just as easily end with a DIY music video in a snow-covered graveyard."
That was a very poetic way to look at things, particularly the highlighted phrase.

Odd that there isn't an equivalent over here, seems to be a lot of smaller expos and bigger gaming markets but nothing that does it all.

As an American living in Sweden for nearly 11yrs now, it's nice seeing you enjoy your time in Northern Europe. You can imagine that things can get a bit old hat once you get used to the rhythm of a new life abroad, so it's pretty cool watching a fellow Yank experience things like this for the first time.
We don't have as big a retro scene here in Göteborg as they seem to in Oslo or even Stockholm but fortunately we do have some nice conventions annually. Tomorrow we're gonna visit a local Con called Games & Geeks. Think this video inspired me to shoot some footage to share later on. Very excited for tomorrow! ❤

@@reinygreen9521Yes, I buy from their online store all the time. They're a bit overpriced though. In gbg I usually go sagobjörnen... Since it's the only game shop left in town and he has fair prices. Sadly, there's not much of a scene left over here. Game shut it's doors as did Game Stop, Kaptenkrok is gone, there was a pretty big retro store on Drottninggatan (I think) that also closed down. So all that's left is the ol' fella sagobjörnen and the hope of 'winning the lottery' and going to a secondhand shop and finding ps2 or earlier games that aren't going for ebay prices. Last weekend I went to a loppis and by some miracle there was a guy selling a few nes games.... At 250kr each 😭. I picked up Gremlins 2 and Robowarrior since I didn't already have them in my collection but damn it stung to pay that much when 10 years a go you could still find some gems for 50kr and below. You usually dont have to worry about frying your electronics as most electronics chargers/devices are set up for dual use. Took all my electronics to the UK with just an adapter that only changes the plugs and was fine with watch, phone, switch, etc. (they will usually have on the charger something like "Input 110v-240v") and then your device if USB especially will be able to throttle what it needed.
The only exceptions are things like HairDryers and those types of devices.
