There's something so peaceful about the structure of your tour videos. I love feeling like I'm checking out the city with you, then get into the excitement of checking out some games and conventions. Thanks for that.
There's actually a camera where you can turn on a video while the person is walking allows you to see there surroundings gametheory had 1 when he went to Japan man of arms did 1 for the tour of their shop
A fantastic video covering SEGE, as well as various other spots in Greenville, SC. It was really awesome meeting you, and hanging out during the convention. Glad I could help out with some video, and greatly appreciate you shouting out my channel! Also some really awesome pickups you got at the con. Hope you enjoy Transformers Devastation…one of my favorite PS4 games for sure. Hoping to hang out at another con in the near future!
You mentioned how everyone is so nice. That is one of the reasons I love your channel and others. Everyone seems so genuine and sincere. I'd love to visit a gaming expo at some point, but fear I'd spend too much money. Lol.
As someone from the UK who would love to explore the US and loves seeing peoples game collections these videos are perfect for me! Have a lot of them to catch up on glad ive found your channel.
Always love how your travel vlogs are all-encompassing and include everything else, including your flight and city tours. Helps to make it feel like we, the viewer, are on the trip as well.
Thank you for including the full trip experience. [insert type] show videos, we've seen one we've seen them all. Your story telling, build up and moments with fans and friends make the video a delight. Thanks for sharing your passion with us.
Absolutely love Greenville! Some of the best shopping, eateries, and you just can't beat downtown. I'm surprised you didn't mention that toy federation and upstate games are actually both in the same building/shopping center! I live in Augusta, GA and I drive up to Greenville just to visit those stores and spend some days up there. Awesome video as always! You and Riggs are the best!
We met you and were really shy to say this but we loved that you came, it was a highlight of the convention for us, thank you! My boyfriend is very happy with his signed copy of sega rally!
MJR, I met you at the con on Sunday. I was at a dealers table looking at games, and you walked up right beside me, and I commented, “I’m a follower/big fan.” You said thanks and gave a fist bump 👊. I really do appreciate your channel and in what you provide. I look forward to it every Friday. You are right, SC is hot. Lived here most my life, and humidity gets bad, which makes it feel hotter than it actually is. I live in Aiken, about 2 hours south of Greenville. Came up for the show and in hopes to me you 😁
SC native here in Columbia. Glad you enjoyed Greenville and the game expo! Lol, always enjoy hearing peoples first reactions to "swamp ass" down here in SC 😂
I'm a native here just outside of Aiken, and yep it's even worse in the midlands, and right here on the SC/GA border than even Greenville, to the point many days the A/C at my work can't even keep up!!
2:01 that drone shot could've come straight from our hotel room! 😂 Top floor, corner at Hampton, right across from that pavilion. Best view in town! Hope you got to walk the river a little bit; it's beautiful. Reminds me a little of waterfront Tacoma, but with a Southern charm. Great video, thanks for sharing. Good to see you at the Expo. 🤘
Thanks for sharing! It’s so great to see more of these convention videos, they’re such a joy to watch. You find a way to infuse these videos with a special type of magic 🤘🏼
Greenville is beautiful. When I went there, I heard a lot of buzz about people moving there because a lot of great employment opportunities. Def a growing city on the incline.
WHAT?!? MJR visiting my state? Awesome to see and hope you enjoyed a little slice of the Palmetto State in all its classic humid glory lol! I'd still call Greenville a city, though I may be biased due to all the small towns in SC and the otherwise lack of cities (plus combined with Spartanburg it makes for a pretty good-sized metropolitan area). Falls Park on the Reedy is a lovely area, great call to stop in there!
Hey Metal Jesus I got to see you at the SEGE and ask about Sierra! What an amazing travel log of my city Greenville. I smiled from ear to ear listening to this. Thank you so much for coming, I hope you come back next year it was awesome!
Another thing you can do is buy some clothes from a thrift shop for the trip then drop them off at a clothes donation bin before flying back. Much cheaper than shipping them back.
As a longtime Gundam fan, that Zeon red GameCube (12:42) is definitely one awesome piece! Love that a lot of people at the Expo were willing to lend a hand for this video; Really goes to show just how passionate of a community that gaming has…
My elementary school had those educational PS1 games and the PsOne consoles with screens. I think my first grade class (06-07 school year) was the last to use them
Really enjoyed the conference and getting to finally meet @MetalJesusRocks, such a humble individual that loves the hobby and his fans. Hope to see you in again in the Southeast!
Upsate games is awesome…. Mike is a cool guy and I’ve sold and bought from them many times Oh…and welcome to South Carolina weather…lol…It’s actually crazy at times. Besides blazing heat and humidity it literally could be hot and storming on a Monday and snowing by Wednesday during the fall/winter
Long time viewer and I know you've been doing this for quite a while but I absolutely LOVE that you show your explorations when you travel! Like you said, while the majority of us, if not all, have come to your channel for gaming/metal content - it'd be a disservice to not explore the destination. Thank you for including it in your videos! Keep it up 👍🏻👍🏻
I’m really really jealous whenever I see you go to these Expos. Here in Asia, especially in the Philippines not so much Expos or conventions for gamers. These videos satisfy my cravings. Thank you 😊
I moved to the Greenville area back in 2014, so to hear that you were in the area is pretty cool! I hope you enjoyed your stay! And you’re definitely right about the hot and humid weather. The summers here are brutal.
The Phantasie series were the first RPGs I ever played. I was 15 and playing on the Commodore 64 at the time. I remember I was torn between spending my money on my computer or saving for a car. I was making $3.35 an hour so saving money for anything was pretty difficult. I still have all my Phantasie games and my SSI Dragonlance games.
I love the game stores here in the Carlolinas. I love visiting Upstate Games even though it's a bit of a drive for me from Western NC, but the shops here with Red Fox Gaming, Infinity Gaming, the Game Store & More, and Timmy Macs scratch my itch. I personally try to buy a game from all my local shops.
Loved your video of your visit here. It was very informative, and I can say that I have not seen one better showing our city. Glad you loved it. And not to leave it out, loved the video of the SEGE as well and the visit to some of the stores here also. One thing I can say about us that deal with video gaming around here is that we try to get the hard-to-find items. Items that are complete in the box as well as rare ones. I actually saw some of the items that I had sold to some individuals in your video and that was cool. I am glad that you enjoyed your time here in Greenville. Also I like the other videos that you have done also. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing about our city and the SEGE.
Nice to see I made it in the video. South Carolina gets miserable hot I. The summer. The time I visited the Seatle area was amazing. Summer in the 70s, dream come true. SEGE was a blast this year. Coming back next year?
These events prices maybe high but that’s when bartering happens. That’s some of my favourite things to do. Small talk about games with vendors and passers by makes it worth while.
Great to see ya at S.A.G.E as I was walking in Saturday afternoon. I had the long red hair and had the Megadeth shirt on you said "cool shirt". I know it was nothing and you probably don't remember but it meant a lot to me. Yours was the first YT video game Channel and video I watched about 5 years ago. It got me started back collecting after 10 years off because of an alcohol addiction. I had already quit drinking, but it gave me back something I'm passionate about, besides music (especially Metal), that won't kill me. Thank you, so much.
I missed you visiting man.. 😔. I live an hour away from Greenville 😭. You have to come back next year! I’m currently in the process of collecting games from my generation myself lol. This video made me cry happy tears Metal Jesus! I’m happy seeing you live you your dream and one of mine. I hope you continue to be blessed and have an awesome journey in life.
Man! What a fantastic trip! And what a great time! Glad to see some youtubers gathered and sharing their passion! As a side note, the James Bond car is a Lotus Esprit S1 colloquially known as the Wet Nelly and the movie in which appeared is The Spy Who Loved Me.
That's my city (Well, I'm about 30 minutes outside of it)! My husband and I wanted to go to the expo, but work took precedent this year. Glad you enjoyed your time here; we have this city to thank for our retro game collection.
I love your videos, especially the haul videos with you and Reggie. The shots of you in these vlogs where somebody is following you walking around are hilarious, you look like the Terminator looking for Sarah Connor, like when you were aggressively pacing through the toys store at the end lol.
Omg just in time, This last week was hell for me, my doctor just told me that i must go for a double jaw surgery and im so scared you have no idea. Thx alot for your videos they distract me alot from all this bs.
ive been in seattle my whole life i met you 5 years ago and you are the realest person i ever met. im a fan forever mr jesus thank you for being the best
It was great meeting you. Thanks for taking the time to chat and take a picture with my son. Edit. His picture is at the end of the video. He's so happy about that. Thanks again!
DUUUUUUUDE!!!! Thank you for finding and mentioning Ape Escape Racing!! I had no idea, I'm a gigantic Ape Escape fan, and an even bigger kart racing fan, and I can't believe I never heard of this game before! I went straight to eBay and found one complete copy for sale, couldn't buy it fast enough, I'm so so so stoked to have found one, I cannot wait for it to get to me!!! The excitement for that game is so intense right now!!
You are absolutely right about people leaving larger cities. I just moved away from Toronto 6 months ago, a city of almost 3 million people to a smaller town near Niagara falls Ontario of about 50,000 and it's the best decision of my life.
This was awesome, really gotta head down to SC sometime and check out Greenville! I highly recommend you come to Virginia sometime. The Hampton Roads areas (ex. Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, etc) have a lot of retro game stores and there's tons of historical stuff to look out around here as well! Video Game Heaven/Cool Stuff is by far the best here.
MJR! I have been watching your channel for a good while now love your videos, always helping me find games I might have missed or forgotten about! I’m a SC native as well. I look forward to meeting you next time you travel back to the south man! Have a good day sir and thank you for all your videos and being one of the best TH-camrs hands down!
Always enjoy your videos, but this one is one of your best. Loved the part where you mailed your clothes instead of your pickups 😂 Love from Birmingham, UK
It was great meeting you at SEGE! I was the big guy in the Pac Man shirt who took a selfie with you and John Riggs on day 1. Glad to see you made it to the East Coast! Great video, as always.
Greenville is beautiful, stoked you got the chance to check out our little peace of paradise! The humidity down here is something else, make sure you stay hydrated!
Cool to see you hanging with Boogie. I stopped following him years ago because of the lies, drama and toxicity of his fanbase, but I’ve always thought he’s probably a cool guy IRL.
I enjoyed the video very much. I especially led t when you visited those parks and the waterfall. I've been there before when I was little and just thing about it brings me back a lot of nostalgia. South Carolina was the reason I have a love for nature and I feel nostalgic about that. Well, that and boy scouts gave me a love for nature.
Thanks again MJR for another awesome video. Love the part where you go through the park in the waterfalls oh my goodness makes me wish I was there. Watching you and Reggie radical Reggie that is has me building my backlog up more with more games that I need to play especially retro games that are converted to the switch in PlayStation. Love the convention videos you put out after a very rough day at work watching this puts me back into the gaming mood. Hope to see you again soon buddy.
Great video! Hate I missed the convention, but maybe next year. Glad you got to see some of the town! I used to work at Falls Park. Nice to see everyday, but I didn't like driving downtown
Awesome seeing you coming down to my home town, and more importantly, checking out my favorite local game store! Upstate Games is the reason I stay broke haha
I also like going the last day of these expos. I'm not necessarily after mainstream sought after stuff and am more looking for deals on common games for systems I own. I like to scope out everything in the morning and come back an hour or so to closing and make deals. You will find the vendors are happy to get last minute sales and are very friendly.
Missed you at SEGE. Was trying to get a fist bump haha! I was eyeballing that same modded GBA as well. I was really impressed by it but decided to pass as I already have all the Nintendo handhelds I need. Good taste brotha!
Always so stoked about these expo videos. Makes me wanna question the reason of my sole existence :) Thanks for the pickup tips at the end! Might look for some of them myself :)
wow that was a great tour of the city and con thanks for these love how you show us the actual location a bit even though your on such a tight timeframe and that is a solid tip about the game collecting while traveling
It was awesome to have met you and much of the crew on Saturday, I absolutely look forward to seeing you at next year's event in my banana print shirt again!
Love seeing you in the Carolinas! Our retro gaming scene is beginning to blow up here in Raleigh, NC right now. We couldn't make it to SEGE this year but hope to next year. Also love hearing that you have family in Texas, as I'm a native of San Antonio! Very hot there, but not humid like we get over here in the deep south! Glad you had fun!
I live in Gville, I’m sad I missed SE game exchange. I totally forgot it was happening this past weekend. Also Greenville is larger then it shows statistically. The city limit is very small, the suburban area surrounding it is pretty large. There are a Lot of people in the greater Greenville area.
@@topchief1 the sparkle city is really on the upward swing, I work in Spartanburg and they have really started to turn things around in that city. It’s still kind of looked at like Charlotte looks at Gastonia.
Also for the prices issue, I think one reason why so many people were complaining is that prices were far more reasonable last year, so there was some sticker shock, though watching videos from you and John Riggs and seeing what people were charging at shows you attended earlier in the year, I was sort of expecting it. One vendor in the front corner where you entered refused sale to any other vendors on the first day. It was really nice and helped me get a copy of Castlevania Dracula X for $300 before offers and bringing in trade bait helped keep my out of pocket costs down too. If he had sold to vendors, that Castlevania would have been snatched up and priced at $350-$400 immediately.
There's something so peaceful about the structure of your tour videos. I love feeling like I'm checking out the city with you, then get into the excitement of checking out some games and conventions. Thanks for that.
Thank you so much!
@@MetalJesusRocks great video and I would have grabbed that ps2 sign in a heartbeat
This is on point. My feeling exactly

my wife never watches this stuff but we enjoyed watching them together yesterday
"I don't care if I have my clothes, as long as I have my games" - MJR

Spot on, a true gamer right there. I freak out at the slightest of creases on my clothes, so personally, I could never do what he did. xD
As long as you don’t have to wear Riggs plaid clothes
Amen
It's always nice traveling with you, Jason...virtually, of course.

For people like myself that don’t get out much or travel, these videos are a godsend. You really have a gift for creating content Jason!
I agree. He juggles coming off as friendly and nice without being cringe. Not an easy thing to do.

Hi Jason I love that you are showing more and more of the places you visit. I wish we could get longer travel and gaming vlogs.
Just an FYI - the submersible Lotus is from The Spy Who Loved Me
Ah! Ok. Couldn't remember. 👍
@@MetalJesusRocks that's cool. I remember because it's my favorite Roger Moore Bond film & the one that introduced me to Bond when I was 7.
If I ever get to go to one of these expos. Meeting Metal Jesus would be my #1 dream!
Gracias por tu canal, que bueno que estas disfrutando tu vida al maximo...💪💪
Awesome surprise seeing that Sea of Tranquility shirt! I love that channel, I think it's the #1 Music related channel on TH-cam.
Nice, that's where i'm from, Greenville SC, up in NC now. Hope you had a blast man. love the videos
Love the travel vids. South Carolina invented the term “swamp ass”
😂
I heard it was Dad Bod
It was awesome to have met you and much of the crew on Saturday, I absolutely look forward to seeing you at next year's event in my banana print shirt again!
Was great meeting you and talking to you about Mr. Domino! Thank you for coming down to my state and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Your travel videos are so relaxing…brings out the joy of exploring a new city, and checking out the game selection
I grew up around a half hour from Greenville. In Spartanburg SC.. I've since moved away but cool that you got to visit the palmetto state!
I live in Charlotte and as nice as Greenville is, I was even more impressed with how pretty Spartanburg was.
