Much appreciation for you walking through the variables of temp, humidity, and how to alter your approach and settings for the conditions. A lot of body shop instructors don't even cover that in much depth. Like everyone is working in perfect paint booth atmospheres.
Wow, that gun doesn't produce much overspray and painting area free from paint fog. Great price and like the PPS cups and adapters that come with the gun.
i was told by a painter to turn my 21 gallon compressor air down from the 120psi way down to about 60 psi then set my gun regulater as needed...is this true or false🤷🏾♂️ love this channel
That's intresting, This company paid me to do a promotional video for this gun. I didn't know they put it in the manual but that's ok. It a good gun that I approve of.
Excellent video! Does this gun work well with metal flake based paint? If so; Do you have a video showing how to spray metal flake silver or gold with this gun? . Thanks again! Phillip Hall
since we started using waterbourne paint i been using glass cleaner as a prep before spraying and thats for both water and solvent paints if you doubt glass cleaner like mr muscle etc try cleaning a bathroom mirror with panel wipe!
Wow ,ok so glass cleaner be the way to go you reckon? ....and is that before you put down your base coat ? .....I might give a go , thanks for the tip buddy much appreciated 👍🏾
Good start up package for someone with whats included. Pps adaptor, few liners, ect. They should do a set with primer nozzle/needle)cap. I'm still running with the turbine
From what they tell me I think they will add needle sets to it. Manufacturer hasn't made needle set for it yet but I believe the r500 needle sets will work. I'll be testing that soon.
Great video Chris, the YT-160 did a great job on the base and clear plus you could notice there was less overspray than your other guns which is a bonus for the DIY painter what I did notice is that it seemed slower laying the clear but that's probably due to it being a LVLP gun, I'll be adding this one to my list, finally got my Astro EURO-HE at the weekend and that is a cracking gun which sprays like my DV1 but it's less than half the price. I did notice some flickering in the video Chris, this is probably your camera is being effected by your lights so if you can try changing your frame rate or shutter speed on your camera, it's only just started doing it so something might have changed in your camera, hope that helps🤔👌👍John
CHRIS, I love the video! i own this gun and love it. Did you use the same tip for color base and the clear? Also , i am repainting my 1980 corvette with single stage urethane, should i use the same tip as you did with this jobs clearcoat...Many Thanks
ive sprayed a whole jeep cherokee with a 6 gal compressor and an hvlp... yeah there was orange peel and massive color sanding, but i say a 20gal compresskr with 4cfm and this gun is way more than enough. if they made an LVLP back then im sure id be fine with much less color sanding
Love the videos. I have an a610with the harbor freight cup system (spectrum I believe), when I sprayed base with 1.3 tip it seems to surge. Sprays good for a bit then light for a split second and then continued to spray good. What could cause this, should I be using larger than 1.3 tip maybe? Any thoughts?
It’s a 30 gallon husky. I’m not very experienced with setting up the spray gun. Not the ideal compressor but, I am wondering if it makes a difference if you use a regular cup with the small vent on the cap, versus the pps system that doesn’t have the vented cap?
@@chrispete9355 the cup shouldn't make a difference. The 1.3 tip is fine. I would clean the cap, any dries paint in the air cap will effect a gun like this. Hold it up to the light make sure its really clean.
That gun looks good, but any gun looks good in your hand, so hard to say 🙂 But how does it compare to a R500 ? any noticeable difference, any good reason to switch ? Anyway, could not find this gun on amazon europe, so it would not even be an option 😞
I have the aeropro r500 (black version of this one) and have only used it a few times and it is now leaking paint from the trigger area, any idea what could cause this?
Hola tengo un compresor de 24 litros y quiero comprar una pistola para pintar una puerta de coche que me aconsejas entre la r500 o la a610 y que consume las dos en cfm gracias
What matters is the cfm production or l/m you want at minimum 6 cfm of air out of your compressor. Yes this gun has the lowest air consumption of any full size gun that I've found.
I asked the seller for the air consumption and they said 300L/min which is over 10 cfm. I don’t know if that’s accurate since the description says 3 to 3.9 cfm
Have you tried switching the air cap from r500 to aeropro or this gun? Other you-tuber says it gives you a wider spray pattern and better atomization. Thanks for video!
I have a 2000 civic w factory single stage silver, body is straight, can I sand and paint over with reg solvent based base coat clear coat? Or do I have to prime entire car, if so w what?
If the paint is in good condition and not peeling you should be able to sand with 600 and base/ clear without primer. You may want to seal it before applying base for a good ground coat.
Single stage is like spraying clear, it runs easily if you not careful, wet sanding and buffing can effect color if it's metallic, so it's not as forgiving. It may be a bit cheaper and it's one less step but it's also not as durable. I would use bc/cc it's all around better. Hope this helps! Appreciate the comment and support!
@@cynt1111I asked the seller to confirm the air consumption and they said 300L/min which is over 10 cfm. I only need it to paint a bumper but I have a small compressor which only does like 3.7 cfm at 40 psi. The description says 3 cfm and 30 psi but I doubt it.
I don't know some people have had some machining issues a few have mentioned a leak. I have 4 of these gun and haven't experienced either one. I would say there could be some issues it is a inexpensive gun. I think there is a slight difference in the R500 and the a610 .
Looks like u didnt spray sealer over primer etc. Do u typically paint right over primer and thats good to go, maybe an extra coat of base takes care of any transparency
Being in a open garage I try not to use sealer with the exception of bumper and break thrus into filler. If the primer is uniform and sanded correctly you don't always need sealer.
@GarageNoise ok thanks, thanks for the reply..im going to be painting my black 2001 mustang hopefully soon, I've fixed couple small dents here n there..since I'm re painting it black I thought maybe black primer would help over the body filled spots to not show thru..ill be painting outside unfortunately, my garage is filled up with motorcycles n carpentry tools LOL

It's a good bargain for sure.
@GarageNoise can I still use lvlp on HS glasurit clear with activator @ 30 psi 1.3mm tip

True, my wall regulator is set a 90 but it's a 60 gallon.

What gun setting would you recommend for a single stage?
Great job Chris the overspry is very low hey what do you think about the aeropro A608
I've looked at that gun, and at one point I was going to review it. Still may at some point.
How big is the fan patterns!
That cheap gun does a pretty nice job
👍
Yes
Hi. Great job. you think that gun would work with my 550 Watts 30 litters compressor? 😅
🤣
What psi do you recommend for primer (dtm urethane) also bigger needle and tip too correct 1.7 or 2.0mm? For this gun of course.
D1 a nicer gun?
Given they're the same.
Which would buy?
Which ever ones cheaper. I perfer the color of the D1 but that's just a personal preference.
Hi I’ve got a 20 gal tank with 4.0 cfm @90 psi, think I’ll be able to do my single cab Chevy paint job with it????

I was wondering the same. How does it compare to the r500?
Literally the same gun spray the exact same.

Check the nut the needle slides thru in front of the trigger
What do you mean by cooler? What temperature are you at???
if i just want to paint panel by panel, will a 6 gallon compressor be sufficient?
You need 4-6 cfm more like a 30 gallon compressor
Could you please provide the link to buy that gun

What percent of isopropyl alcohol do you use in your sprayer?
70%

Whats the point on purchasing a spray like that if you still need a big compresor ?
Oh the camera frame rate is in sync with your lights..
Yeah, I've corrected it now.
Chris, what in y out opinion are the pros and cons of a single stage paint system vs, a 2 stage system?
Thanks for any guidance you might share.

6CFM at what pressure?
Base coat about 20psi, clearcoat I like between 28 and 30psi

I mix 2parts paint 1 part hardener and 10per thinner
No hardner in the base coat I use, just paint and reducer 2:1

CFM = cubic FEET per minute. It's already plural. Would you say Feets? No. So don't say CFMs.
