    Thanks for the info.
    I actually got a great tip from The Gunman as well.
    I set the regulator to around 50 psi on my 25 gal Porter Cable compressor that puts out 5.1 SCFM and now I never have fluctuations while continuously using an LVLP gun.

    I painted my Jeep CJ-7 with an R500 gun with the old Harbor Freight 21 gallon Central Pneumatic compressor which i think is about 4.5 CFM. Did I get a great finish? No, not really, but I'm an amateur and painted it outside with a cheap single state urethane. I'm really pleased at how it turned out, all things considered. You may have played a significant role in that. Thanks for all the education you provide!

    I used 50L compressor for a whole car - 94 Mitsubishi Eclipse. I used HVLP gun because I was watching paintsociety and Brian was always talking about these guns. Even tho it was hard, it actually turned out great. Of course - there was a need for some cut and buff, but overall I was really happy with the result

    I used the Drizzle D1 to paint a 1979 C10 base and clear and it came out great. I used a 5hp 60 gal compressor. Didn’t do the whole truck at once. Did the cab separate from the bed. Used the R500 for the sealer and primer. I’m sold on the lvlp guns for an open shop. I really appreciate all the reviews on the guns. Thanks from SW Oklahoma, keep up the good work!

    As a non-paint guy that was really interesting. HVLP paint guns use more air than I’d have figured. I run that compressor in my garage, mainly because it isn’t super loud and is 110. With a 1.1mm tipped plasma cutter it won’t keep up with that either, but I rarely do long continuous cutting.

      Bingo! I use this same compressor for about a year now. I spray liquid wraps with it, I noticed I like using the HVLP guns better because they lay the product faster even though they gulp air down, better than the LVLP guns which works great with this compressor but they take much longer.

    Thanks for video! I just sprayed urethane on some panels on my mustang (hood, fenders, etc.) with my SP-33000 LVLP using a Central Pneumatic 21 gal AC. It produces 4.7cfm @ 90psi and 5.8cfm @ 40psi. The gun uses 3.5-3.9cfm so I assumed it would be ok. Watching your method of application I now realize I was going too fast and not overlapping enough. I ended up with some stripes. Not real bad but enough to notice. I know that stripes with a primer isn’t that much of a concern but I definitely don’t want that when I spray my color.

    Very interesting video with surprising results, I've found that with the R500 based family of guns the reported CFM is not very reliable as most of them use more CFM than it states in the data sheets, my Rongpeng R500 has a stated CFM of around 4 but that is way out as from my tests it's around the same as a GTI ProLite with the T110 aircap that is around 10 CFM, my tests are not very scientific all I do is start with a full compressor then time how long it takes for the compressor to start and I got similar times from the R500 and ProLite🤔my results could be off though🤷‍♂

    I have a Husky 20 gal quiet compressor, the manifold type regulator it came with was slow to recover, doesn't flow enough air. It caused fluctuations in output, but the main tank air pressure was ok. I installed a 5" power steering cooler, 4.7" 1.5" thick a/c muffin fan which fits the cooler perfectly, a water separator right after it, then to the tank. I removed the entire regulator manifold, installed a regulator water separator combo, .01 micron coalescing filter, and desiccant. The main tank has very little water now, it just pretty much mist when i drain the bottom. The water separator right after the cooler collects all the water. I might need to change it to a auto drain because when the pressure switch cuts off, there is no pressure in the cooler side.
    I use R500 sprayguns (Summit Racing lvlp, and Eastwood LT100, and a couple of Italco LVMP, shine and gloss model.

    Again a simple fix is to just add a portable tank to your small compressor. I have a 20 lb craftsman, and a 14 lb Campbell hausefield. I use the craftsman if I have a small repair, like a quarter panel. If I need paint a car I use the 20 and then put a 20 gallon craftsman portable I made cuz the motor blew up on her. I use an air bubble( tanks they sell at most stores like harbor freight) to paint on the lower air compressor if I feel lazy. 40 lbs is more then plenty to use for most tools and painting. I never have pressure issues and have painted many cars these days. Those air bubbles cost around $20. The hardware and a guage and the bubble is cheaper then a bigger compressor.

    A faster gun uses more paint, but it is more efficient on air use since you cover more area faster. The real test would be as you go further into painting a larger area like a full respray. Eventually, a hungrier gun will rear its head with having to let the compressor catch up. However, this also shows that these LVLP guns could also be not as low in air consumption as the manufacturer states, albeit still lower in comparison.
    This was a great experiment and very helpful to those with an open mind in what gun to choose for their needs. Both sprayed exceptionally well.

    I have painted cars with a 20 gallon compressor before. With the right gun, it works out ok especially if the compressor can recover quickly. Mine does pretty well.
    I only have a filter on the end of the gun when using a compressor. I set it by feel and turn the air control on the gun if needed if I observe a pressure drop. Quickly compensate on the fly. If it drops too much, a pause at a point that is not in the middle of the panel...

    It kicked on later than the Drizzle because it has a wider fan pattern, and it took fewer passes to get to that location on the hood. You made many more passes with the Drizzle.

    Can u daisy chain air compressor or tank

  • @ShivaSharma-zs6gt
    @ShivaSharma-zs6gt 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I dont understand why a compressor that has a higher cfm than the gun isnt able to use a smaller tank like a 5 gallon pancake? Are there no quiet compressors out there that could be used with it running longer? Im in an apartment and painting on the driveway with a booth made from tarps. Not ideal but being 85lbs i cant carry a compressor up and down a flight of stairs. I look at ut like a tankless vs a hot water heater with a tank. It would need q tank to keep pressure stable but if it is able to produce more osi qnd cfm than the gun needs, the compressor wont last as long, but im not a professional using it a lot.
    Is this possible?

    What is the cfm on the D1?

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      D1 is the same as the a610. The seller says 10-13 cfm but that cant be right because the porphis is 10.5 and the d1 uses less air than that IMO I think it's around 7-10 cfm

    Scfm= standard cubic feet per min it’s a measurement in standard but when used in the air compression industry it’s commonly used to boost the rating of compressor unfortunately low cost consumer compressors are very deceptive in the marketing.

    • @GarageNoise

    The D1 is just a rebranded A610. It claims around 4cfm but that's just the lying chinese marketing,their numbers are all over the place. Pete's Hobbies measured them closer to 8cfm. The Porphis got more coverage before air ran out because it delivers substantially more material than the D1. Using 80% of the air the Potphis uses doesn't mean its "20% more efficient" if it saves 20% of the air to put on only 50% of the material. That would mean that to get the same coverage it would use 160% of the air the porphis used

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great points, appreciate the comment. I'm guessing the D1 is between 7-10 but it is still less than most guns. I really like both guns. I like the reduced overspray of the D1, but the finish is better with the Porphis. The D1,a610,yt 160 are all rebranded R830 made by Rong Peng.
