- Super Mario RPG Remake was a hit. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Remake is looking fantastic. But what about Mario & Luigi, and what about the future of the other two series? Let's talk about that alongside a new survey Nintendo put out regarding these games.

There is just something so special about first playing the Mario and Luigi rpg games on my 3ds that I had fond memories of playing, and I dabbled in Sticker Star, Color Splash and the Origami King (which in that case I could actually make it to the final boss) but all this renaissance of Mario RPGs makes me excited to play the TTYD remake since I never played it before considering I actually started with Super Paper Mario. But now also hearing that the Mario and Luigi series could make a grand return is phenomenal since that is the genre I truly got invested from!
Partners in Time would be the obvious remake to do of the Mario & Luigi series. Good video Bro😊

Say what you will, but we can thank the Mario + Rabbids games for given the Mario RPG's back into it's feet. Although we did have Origami King and Bowser Inside Story Remake during the Mario + Rabbids thrive. But they weren't as successful nor have that much quality of other titles. Including Mario + Rabbids. After that, the Mario RPG'S would be forgotten for an while if it weren't for Mario + Rabbids. After that & with the success of the remake of Super Mario RPG and soon the remake or remastered Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, things have been looking bright for the Mario RPG'S.
Yes, definitely, I wouldn't play them, but I do respect what the games done. Despite the fact that there are rabbids.
m&l dream team is in my top 5 fav games. I'd love it if the series returned

as someone whose first DS game was Mario and Luigi Partners in Time alongside Pokemon. I am very hyped for a return of Mario and Luigi. Even though Partners in Time remake is highly unlikely due to the original opinions of the game I can always hope lmao
Color splash is so underrated. I mean it's perhaps not the best game ever, but it introduced that astonishing, gorgeous modern paper mario art style (one of the best looking 3D games ever). The game is hysterically funny and charming. Toad(s) became my favorite Mario character(s) because of the comedy in that game. It was clearly made with a lot of passion too. There's a million RPG's that work the same way, so in that sense it's very understandable that they tried to do something a bit different. the battle system wasn't that great, but not that horrible either. 110% agree that origami king has the worst battle system! I can feel the pain some people had with sticker star and color splash, because origami king was ruined for me with that combat. Looking forward to play the thousand year door remake. I never got it back in the day because I thought the non-standard characters looked a bit like some "cheap fan art". If they wanna have new characters in different mario rpg's they really would need their top character designers. And they should also be based on classic cartoons just like Mario & company, because otherwise the visuals clash. Same issue with super mario rpg and mario & luigi for example. Some of those new characters aren't quite simply up to the same design standards visually.
Its generic Toads and lack of original characters is why it's criticism is deserved, those restrictions are bad for the series and sadly hurt all the games affected by it.
Yeah but please don’t click Color Splash on the survey, help the series become truly great by convincing Nintendo that they should introduce more character design variety, even amongst Toads (like they did in the original Bowser‘s Inside Story for example)

But HOW Alpha dream went broke in 2018 BEFORE Partners in time could have possibly gotten a 3DS remake of it.
I hope to _GOD_ that SPM gets a remake. It's an absolute masterpiece, but it's a flawed masterpiece. I think turning it into a turn based game would kill its identity, but I'd love to see it have stronger RPG elements.
SPM was pretty good in terms of gameplay, but the real selling point is that it had probably the best story in not just the PM series but the best story in the entire Super Mario franchise. I wish they could bring back Dimentio, the greatest villain in the Mario series period.
@mendaix PM64 was already turn based. SPM was already a great game with didn't gameplay, so I see no need to completely change it. I think it just needs to be touched up.
@mendaix I think completely changing a game to "give reason to play the original" is a pretty bad reason. Many of the best remakes don't change the gameplay much. There will still be reason to play the original TTYD just because it looks so different visually. Even then, it's not like most people can go back and experience these old games without resorting to piracy. Which is another reason why I don't think the gameplay would be completely changed unless it's actually necessary.
I’d be so happy if the Mario & Luigi series comes back. I like Paper Mario and Mario RPG, but they just aren’t the same.

I love the Mario and Luigi games and I’m praying that the make a return. Been waiting since 2018!
Personally I loved Color Splash… It was my favourite in the series.

I really want a remake of Partners in Time so bad.
If we get a Mario and Luigi game im gonna to shoot myself in the leg to make sure im not dreaming cause I wasn’t a paper mario fan I liked the original but didn’t like the rest that much but I was addicted to Mario and Luigi I would sneak my ds into school to play partners in time for recess or lunch and when alpha dream declared bankruptcy I cried cried and cried but if a new mario and Luigi happens I will cry all my god damn water out of me

The game is okay, but definitely the weakest in the series
The game wasn’t horrible at all, it may be similarly bland to Sticker Star but the battle system is the most fun in the series so it’s a mixed bag more than anything
I would not say Paper Jam is horrible more like okay. Sticker Star though... Yeah
Paper Jam was really disappointing. The concept was _amazing_ but the game was just ok.
