- It appears with Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door remake nearly out for Nintendo Switch, some signs are coming out suggesting important changes are coming to the overall Super Mario RPG series including possibly the return of the Mario & Luigi games despite the bankruptcy of its developer Alpha Dream. Super Mario RPG sold over 3 million in the first 6 weeks after it was released. We are almost 4 months further. So I think there is a chance that it will become the best selling game in the series. If there's anything that can convince game companies, it's big numbers and a whole lot of money
I'm hopeful that we'll get a Luigi's story in a side-quest exclusive for the upcoming remake and a remake of Super Paper Mario in Fall of 2026 or Spring of 2027

Just a heads up, that Toad is in Glitzville which is chapter 3, not the hub area (Roqueport).
I'd love to get a full game based on the backstory to TTYD. Doubt it'll happen.

Nintendo is capitalising on the huge financial success of the movie. There's no coincidence that they not only remade Mario vs Donkey Kong and Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon, but gave Peach a new game.
I can 100% see a new 3D Mario, Luigi’s Mansion 4, a new Peach and even a new DK game coming out on the next console.
If it also means Mario & Luigi is returning, then I wholeheartedly welcome it back with open arms.
I really hope we get new M&L.
we need to wait for the next new Paper Mario, Nintendo are doing there Mario rpg remakes which are fan favourites but could turn around and do another Origami King style game

Apparently the sales of ttyd are going better than expected. My 3/13 preorder on Amazon just got cancelled due to stock shortages
This gives me hope after all these years. Recent Paper Mario series has been loosing its shine since sticker star and I was ready to give up on the franchise and move on, but now that Thousand year door is getting a remake/remaster on the switch, this makes me excited and with tears of joy knowing that Nintendo has finally realized and acknowledging the outcries of the fan’s frustration and criticism.
I hope we get both a new game and a partners in time remake in the next direct.
How come are we getting a Partners in Time remake since it's released on the DS?
@@user-bq4ud1dg1c they could zoom-out attacks/moves onto one screen like they did in superstar saga dx. Entire cutscenes in the og that required both screens (thus serving as one large screen) can be transitioned to only one screen, just zoom them out and transform them into cutscenes reminiscent of the SMRPG remake. Parts where Mario and Luigi separate from the babies can be translated into split-screen gameplay, where you can press for example “-“ on the controller to switch between the adults and the baby bros.

What would be cool is if you unlock the different parts of Luigi’s quest as you buy them from the item shop. Giving one something to look forward to as you progress through Mario’s journey. It’s like your playing through both journeys sepearately

But HOW Alpha Dream went broke in 2018 that's why Partners in Time never got a 3DS remake at all they went broke before that could happen.
Tbh I think Nintendo might be trying to make sure all the games in their biggest series are playable in some way on Switch, from emulation up to complete remakes.

As a Paper Mario fan, surveys give me PTSD and I take them very seriously.
I think this survey is a very good sign that Nintendo is listening and willing to take risks with creativity and freedom with Paper Mario once more. Miyamoto isn't really involved much anymore with games development, and there's new blood in the office with fresh ideas just waiting to be realised in future games. Fingers crossed this is the case!
Yeah, pretty much. I do think that maybe instead of having 3 different Mario RPG series (SMRPG, ML and paper) they should probably have a different franchise as well. Zelda could use a spinoff. I'm good on SMRPG, we don't need square to make another or anyone if we Paper and ML return. I mean Zelda has now outsold a ton of the Mario games on Switch so it's probably time for a new spinoff.

I was wondering that whether or not that have you received this Mario RPG Series Survey because I have been checking my email from time to time and sadly nothing. Also I really hope that Paper Mario TTYD has GameCube controller support & A Good Pre-Order bonus because I just pre-ordered Paper Mario TTYD at Gamestop and a Steelbook resembling the Games Opening storybook would be cool.
