- Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door is coming to the Switch before we know it and it is SO HYPE! But with the little nugget of information Nintendo provided, we do know SOME gameplay features are being added to the game. So let's run absolutely wild with it, and come up with 10 absolutely DELUSIONAL hopes and desires for the remake!

On a scale of 1-10 what do you think the chances are the remake get the Toad outline included from the jp version? xD Great video btw. I really wish for the developers to expand on Luigi's journey some more. If dlc (or the game gets ported to the switch 2 console with new content akin to bowser's fury), is too much to ask for, I'd at least like to see some pictures/cutscenes from the Luigi book. Fingers crossed, but regardless I'm just looking so much forward to the remake.
I think it's possible! I saw a tweet the other day that TEC's eyes are the same color as the JP version? So some JP stuff is being carried over. And yeah, would absolutely love anything done to Luigi's story get added here, a simple cinematic would still be pretty cool!
I am begging for the Luigi campaign to be included in some way. Even if it's just a collection of cutscenes that lead into some challenge battles, we NEED this

We're not paying $60 to play a higher quality version of an old game, we are spending $60 to send a message to Nintendo.
Technically, Ms. Mowz did have a radar system in the original, when you would get close to a hidden item, she would start sniffing the air, indicating to you that there is a item near you.
The first thing I thought of for costumes was Reed's Hero Mode, that guy changed the designs for all the partners and it has a new Mario Emblem that adds over 15 different costumes for Mario. It's currently still in the demo phase and from videos I've seen, it's really difficult; new enemies, new fights, new remixes of other music, and surprisingly new story even though it's sort of similar to the original, maybe check it out if you want. I'm so hyped for May 23rd, can't wait to finally play every single Paper Mario game finally.

We're not paying $60 on the game, it's half off what you can buy the original used.
Hopefully after this, Super Paper Mario gets a remake for the Switch 2 in Fall of 2026 or Spring of 2027
To be fair, when it comes to modern day Paper Mario discussion, all anyone _ever_ seems to talk about is how great Thousand Year Door is. Its not surprising that Nintendo would choose Thousand Year Door over the original Paper Mario.
TTYD expanded on what made the first PM great and had a great plot, for Mario standards. Something later entries failed to replicate.
Although SPM was the closest to do so.

Luigi has had a huge role in a paper Mario game before, Super Paper Mario. A lot of people overlook this game for several reasons but I recommend it, if not for the story alone than for the spotlight it put on Luigi
True! Luigi had a huge presence in that title.
This game is going to CORRECT history. The recency bias towards sticker star and newer titles, and the crowd that feels unique for liking the new ones and hating on the old because “hurrr nostalgia, it’s bad” are going to eat their words. When Paper Mario for Switch 2 comes out that small minority is gonna throw a hissy fit when it receives critical acclaim. I can see it now lol

And I understand that not everyone will have the same tastes and that’s fine. But this comment doesn’t justify it for me.
I played this game a little bit as a kid but I didn’t get very far but what I played I enjoyed though. I’m very happy this game is coming to the Switch and I will definitely be picking it up.
