Film a Contingency Review! In this thirteenth episode, we test a 2021 Ford Focus 1.0 MHEV ST-Line X Edition, a very late pre-facelift version of the Mark IV Focus. On this occasion, we try to remember masses of engine options, struggle with light levels (again), get out of sync (unintentionally), discuss lead in times, rejoice about physical climate controls and generally ramble on about things of no consequence at all. Nothing untoward, then!

Striking looking car I do like the styling of this generation, especially the lovely Vignale spec with the glorious gun metalish chrome alloy wheels.
I agree sir the Vignale looks fantastic, better still in Mondeo Vignale but there is a hefty premium to pay for such luxury in a "common" car

Future classic 100% if we have a future like. Those alloys look gorgeous with that finish, tempted to get mine refurbished in that finish too.
We would like to try a Vignale, sir, but this stunning, low-mileage ST-Line X Edition was pretty good as well.

The 1.0 Eco-boost is a very versatile engine sir but it does attract the nasty reputation of eco-boom for which Ford do seem to repair or replace expenses paid as I understand in all fairness to them. The bad reputation may attract some to the pixies and fairy dust powered variant sir...
Oh sir, the Ecoboom... Apparently, these later ones are much better, and I am hoping that this one doesn't have any problems. We won't be mentioning those pixie and fairy dust powered engines, sir....

I do like the current generation of the Focus but if I was to get one I'd go all out for the 2.0 'fuel that must not be mentioned' :)
Which is why, sir, we will not be able to talk about it on the channel...
I have a Focus Titanium X 155hp mild hybrid , it's a pleasure to drive, great acceleration for a 1 litre engine, a giant leap forward from the 2015 focus I had

Lovely looking Focus, certainly miles ahead compared to the Mark 1 and 2.5 I had a few years ago and I beleive the Mark 4 Focus is meant to be a drivers car again like the Mark 1 was.

Well, Constable Bailey seems to like it, sir! They are nice to drive, I would just prefer a lighter headlining and a rear armrest, such as they seem to have in other models in the range.

No rear armrests should be standard now.
It depends on the trim , my focus titamuim model has a rear arm rest with cup holders in it
