Loving the redmagic, I haven't played this much PS2 since the console was in its peak. Had been holding off Switch emulation due to how early development is and how much tinkering is needed per game, but thanks to your settings I'll give it a go.
Definitely give it a shot! The settings I have here are pretty good for a mostly set it and forget it experience. Just keep in mind that it's obviously still a work in progress so expect bugs, crashes, etc.
Already liked the video when you mentioned Diablo mode. 90% of people reviewing this device have it on balanced mode and evaluate its performance with that. Such a shame it is a hidden option. So much power going unused. Even if it gets hot faster and loose more battery, I am already used to using an external phone cooler. Going to buy it soon!

Very impressive! I also love Hotshots racing. Ended up buying it on both Switch for playing on the go and for the xbox so I can play with a steering wheel (although it's not officially supported, but it works to a degree).
Skyline is not emulating it is interpreting horizon os calls to android calls, switch basicaly a tablet with tegra X1 which is a ARM processor with nvidia graphics on a Nintendo os everything is beeing interpreted, emulation is heavy 3ds for example you need a device 100 times faster than the 3ds with skyline a snapdragon 845 can run it pretty well even thouth it has 2x the specs
Couple of questions: How did these framerates hold up after an hour or so of gameplay as the device heats up? And how does the battery hold up? And just how hot does it get?

@@tommyvercetti9322 I tried Yuzu (they have an android version now) and Skyline, Yuzu played it but, at a very, very low framerate, I have not tried in like 2 weeks(there has been a few updates from then). Truth be told, I am using CEMU to play the WiiU version of BOTW and been playing it on my PC and SteamDeck. Getting around 70 fps on my PC with it... I know the NEW one runs much better, and I was getting close to 80fps with out tweaking, so this might be better on a GOOD phone.
I rly think the switch lite should have been the size of an rp3 so it could actually fit in pockets, can't wait until we get a pocketable retro handheld with a chip like this so I can finally have my pocket switch 😊

The 8 Pro I have is the 12GB model (not available in 8GB) and I know that the devs state the minimum is 8GB for Yuzu. It will be interesting for sure to compare between the 8, 12, and 16GB versions of the Odin 2.
@@retrotechdad I went with the 12GB Odin 2. It was 335$ (shipping and screen protector included plus import taxes). Those switch games seemed to run very well during your testing, despite some graphical issues that are likely to be fixed in the months to come. You managed to play games like Nier Automata and Bayonetta, which is way beyond what I thought possible. I hope that many people share their shaders to create an extensive archive of caches for a majority of games to make the experience even more flawless. :D

Not sure if I missed it, resolution at 1x? Would be good to see how games like the Xenoblade series, fire emblem heroes etc run since they are some of the more intensive ones?
For Skyline, there is only the option to toggle between handheld or docked mode and will run at the resolution of those modes. Certain games may not be compatible with Skyline but I did test a lot of games off-camera. I mostly wanted to include games on this list that have the least amount of issues. For example, Breath of the Wild does run with Skyline but it is still full of pretty rough graphical issues.
How it looks in practice. Can you play in these games in many hours? What about the temperature of CPU and so one? It's really posible to make form phone good handheld to play in retro exclusives + nintendo switch?
With great power, comes great responsibility. 😅 It's fun to use when you're really wanting to push the absolute limits of the device but isn't really necessary for most use cases.
Skyline will work on the Samsung Tab S8 Ultra since it's an Android based tablet with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Skyline is a Switch emulator for Android devices. You might not get the same performance as you see here since the SD 8 Gen 2 is definitely more powerful as well as thermal throttling being a concern with the Tab S8 Ultra. But I always tell my viewers to try things out, don't be afraid to experiment. 🤗 For Steam Deck, you will need to look at x86 options such as Yuzu or Ryujinx. 🙏
What version skyline edge is this? Is there a force close issue on nubia z50? My device IQOO 11 Global Version (Funtouch OS) Play any game switch on IQOO 11 and 10 minute always force close I use skyline edge v64 and custom driver v676.12 oneplus 11
I recommend trying the versions I tested with, which were Skyline 52/53. Sometimes issues can arise depending on the version. I will say that for the SD 8 Gen 2 the 676.12 drivers have been the best performing for me by far. I have not experienced the force close issue on my device which is the RM8 Pro.
Nice performance. Its totally mad to me that skyline still doesn't support 32bit games though. The fact you can't play Mario kart 8 deluxe on this emulator is just criminal.

The RedMagic 8 Pro is actively cooled with a fan and for this video was set to the Diablo mode setting, which is basically running the CPU and GPU at max clock speeds.
I did try that one off-camera, it was part of a bunch of games I tested. I was hoping it would be as playable as the Crash Trilogy but no go unfortunately. 😭
How are you patching the game? I found the best technique to patch a game is to use something called Yanu. You can read more about it on their github: github.com/nozwock/yanu

I'd have to do a test for that amount of time to really judge how well the RM8 Pro keeps thermals with Diablo mode. On Rise, it did really well with thermals. The SD 8 Gen 2 is very solid for temps and the cooling on the phone is very good.
No, there isn't any built-in software to do that. However, don't be afraid to try out emulation as the S23 Ultra does come slightly overclocked out of the box.

Which phone are you using? I have the settings in my description and in the video as well. It's definitely a combination of the SD 8 Gen 2, custom drivers (676.12), and the specific version of Skyline I am using (Edge v53).

Yes, you can. It's a bit of a process but you need to add the DLC and updates to the game file, there are good tutorials on Google for this.
I know Breath of the Wild Textures are completely broken but how does it handle fps wise.

Depends on the game, pretty much any 2d game will work, mileage may vary in 3d games.
