That's why competition is good for us! Samsung made Qualcomm to push their chips to the max, while china phones made Samsung to keep innovating new hardwares!
@@JoJosDankAdventures Oh sorry my English. "china phones made Samsung to keep innovating". What do you understand from this sentence? Samsung made by china??
Bro, I have the RM6 Pro and it's literally the best phone I've ever had. 165 Hertz display is no joke, I usually keep it on 120 Hz. But the performance is astounding, I paid for the extra 16 GB RAM version, and I'm so glad I did. Most phones require at least 12 GB of RAM to be comfortable, as 8 GB isn't enough. Android system takes a surprisingly 6 GB to run, so anything under that is just dog poo. But 16 GB?? That's more than both my windows and Mac machine. And there's absolutely nothing I can throw that it won't run. It's even a couple generations behind, but rocking a Snapdragon 8 gen 1 was the best idea I could have waited for. Was going to get the 5S, but thank God I waited. Got it when it dropped around my birthday, so it was a nice gift to myself. I can run Wii, GameCube, PlayStation 2, damn near anything. Would be surprised if it couldn't run PS3 or X360, if the emulators ever surface. But the RM8 Pro??? Man I'm so jealous of that UDC technology. It looks so clean. And the new boxy look honestly reminds me of my Sony Xperia XA2 ultra, biggest phone I ever had. Not quite as tall as the RM6 Pro, creating a wider more cinematic experience, but it was definitely the biggest in terms of overall size. This thing might finally top that. I would love if they had some kind of trade-in program, upgrade my RM6 Pro to an RM8 Pro. 2 years later, and it's the best care I've ever taken of a device lol only one time you gouge and tiny scratch this thing has come after all of the falls and damage it is had to it. Still looks damn near new! So a very solid and sturdy phone. I should have broken it at least five times over, but I will tout this phone for the rest of my life. Thank you Taki, for showing off this amazing device. More people need to know about this company and their phones, they are perform anything on the market. 🙏📲🎮🕹️💜💯 Edit: by the way, that Diablo mode is absolutely crazy. I can push 3Ghz on this device under Diablo mode. That is absolutely insane! 🙏🎮🕹️📲💜💯

If it takes you that long to even "wait patiently" for a freaking sub $100 phone, then I suggest you to find a way to increase your income instead of cheapening out your life like that. There is a difference between people who save money and people who hurt themselves to save money
It's called frugality and low time preference. It's infact a very healthy habit, and an antidote to the consoomerist era we find ourselves with. I'm buying this very phone for $300, just by pretending it never existed for a year. @crazycats08
The incredible part is all of the older models had this thing and I never knew about it. Maxed clocks (when you have good enough cooling) are awesome for emulation. This and Odin/Odin Lite are the only devices that I've seen with true locked max clocks.

You should test more switch games with skyline with this phone. That smash ultimate test was the most surprising, as even that "other" switch emulator doesn't even run that well with that game.
Awesome video Taki! Appreciate you investigating the diablo setting. I'd like to see more in-depth videos on this and other manufacturer's phones desktop modes. I've read that Samsung's Dex mode takes a performance hit when running emulators, and I'd for example like to know if this is the case with nubia's, Motorola's, etc. desktop implementations as well.
Desktop mode on this only has performance issues with Skyline, but that's only when you push the FPS over 60. I didn't see any other negative impact during my testing and capture.

There are many, MANY things I don’t understand in this world, but one of the most mind bending is how these tiny little devices can basically outperform my laptop (which is an Alienware m15, I think it was around $2000) and do it costing less! The boards, and chips are significantly smaller, and how do these things stay quiet, and cool enough when I can’t even hear the music in games over the fan noise?!?! We truly are living in a simulation or a dream, because nothing adds up!
@@sv6k0a39 I’ve heard of it, and that it somehow magically can run off very little power, but if it can do this while, from a dummies perspective, pretty much keeping up the big boys, why is it not the industry standard with all companies copying it just enough to make it their own? You don’t have to waste your time trying to explain it to me, because even if you could break everything down to something a 3 year old could understand, I’d be just as confused as I am now, while drooling in a corner. I’m still convinced that whenever you delete anything from your hard drive, a little door opens on the back of your computer, and spits out dust particles… I just can’t ever catch it in time😬
No SD card again.... On a gaming phone that will be used for emulation... I really wish someone would shake up the industry again and put a micro sd card slot on flagships. So tired of companies following Apple's bullshit.
I'm impressed, especially from the Switch performance, but I have a Samsung GS21+ so I'll wait until the SD8 Gen3 to upgrade and buy the Redmagic 9 Pro.
Nintendo Switch games from Nintendo itself & close to them are so beautiful, fun gameplay and awesome sound ! That's why Switch as per end of 2022 already sold 123 million units. Can't wait for a Switch 2 😍

@@johnboona4048 And it's not like this phone is rocking 16GB of ROM like the good old days and after everything has been updated you're stuck with like 6GB free. The basic 8 Pro starts at 256GB ROM. PS2 discs (DVDs) held 4GB. GameCube discs held 1.5GB, IIRC. Dreamcast GD-ROMs were 1GB. PSP UMDs held 900 MB on a normal disc and up to 1.8GB with the fancy dual layer ones. You can fit an insane amount of content on this phone without needing an SD card because our retro games weren't that big.

I would love to see this processor used in something like the Nintendo switch, just imagine the kind of games that would be possible if they were designed exclusively for this device
I think an RDNA 3 or 4 chip would be a lot faster. Though, we don't know yet if Nintendo is going to make another portable handheld console. They could go back to having 2 separate systems. Who knows.
Eventually they will, when its an average chip and about 5 years old, so since the 6800u came out a year ago and the SD 8 g2 a few month, we can estimate that a nintento handheld console with comparable power will come out in ...... 2032!
How does this phone compare to say the S22 (or 23) Ultra. Do you really need the fan and the cooling and stuff. What if you just want to run PS1, PS2, and maybe GC games? @Taki Try the PlayDate handheld next... it had a very compact design with a smol crank... yes a crank and the intro for the console is so damn good... there's also a SFK software to create your own games and content for the console... so try and get your hands on if you wanna try one... ❤️

It is very reliable! Been using it for about a year, already and no bug on my side, best experience for the price. If they didn't change it, it is just not water resistant
@OverClockeD_GR This is an important thing to mention. I checked the last 4 models (8+g1,8g1,888+/888) and they seem to have done the last round of security patches in Q4. The strange thing is that not all of my phones got the OTA update that is listed. They put the firmware files on their website for offline updating. Just want to say that software support is a valid concern.

I've had a couple of Red Magic phones. They were both buggy. There's the obvious stuff like Engrish in the dialogs and menus but sometimes turning them on would have them hang on a black screen indefinitely (terrifying the first time it happened!) and I'd have to reboot them once or twice to get them to start up. As such, I wouldn't get another Red Magic regardless of specifications and would wait for someone more reputable to release a device with this chipset.
Using my Motorola Edge 30 Ultra in Ready For desktop mode, on an external monitor, able to use wireless (or wired, via a little hub) keyboard and mouse, or with a wireless handheld controller. No problem. Probably the gaming performance is not at the same level, but I am already happy with this, so I suggest a little comparison 😉

Someone on the fence here; would you say there have been any significant software bugs or deal breakers, that otherwise prevent you from using it? Really looking forward to replacing my Razer Phone 2 after 5 years. All after replacing the battery, the back glass cracking and fixing along with thermal repasting and a great vinyl skin to cover up all the scuffs on the frame, even dremel-cutting pieces of steel pc case fan covers into perfect replicas of the speaker grills to replace those, done all i could to hold on. The usb c port is giving out with no parts in sight, donor phones being long stripped by owners less fortunate, I can only charge wirelessly now, issues being an aftermarket battery, while attempting to top up during the day. This looks like the spiritual successor to the RP 3 concept. I just hope that the software is as reliable.
When coupled with a good controller, Kishi, Kishi 2, or backbone Android, you have a great handheld with great CPU/GPU, 6000Mah battery, 6.8 inch amoled, BT 5.3 and wifi7, 65W fast charging, 256GB/512GB, 12/16GB DDR5......but for me it's the squared chassis that swings it for me. This should fit perfectly in the Kishi 2, or backbone, previous RM phones have a rounded backshells that can make the controller fit less secure than a flat backshell. I'll leave the anbernics and retroids for 18 months and get one of these instead.
@@TakiUdon I guess they realized that to be a true gaming phone, most people would pair it with a Kishi2 or backbone and that a flat blackshell would be important for gamers to get a good sturdy fit. Nice to see they considered this important for gamers.
May I ask what is the gear that you make the headphone jack out?(Maybe you already mentioned somewhere else). Also, what is the controller? I can tell it's not the kishi controller you mentioned in the video description. Thanks.
Great work as always :) Can you recommend a guide for Skyline? I've tried combining the base game and update NSPs into one file but that simply crashes the emulator. Not sure what the deal is.
Do other games boot (Sonic Mania)? If so, it's probably the exact GPU driver you are using. That being said, BOTW won't probably be stable for several more months with Skyline.

beautiful video, what is the name of this headphone adapter
Guys, keep in mind that this is still a phone. Don't compare its price to other handhelds. Also, if you like to carry a separate handheld and a phone at all times you're not the target market of this device.
What controller are you using on your phone? Also had no idea Gunfire Reborn was on mobile!
Kishi v2
