Joel definitely has more chops on guitar, but calling adam untalented is stupid. he plays guitar, drums (originally), records bass, and is a GREAT producer who has produced countless bands.

Joel is a very humble guy. There are glimpses of his incredibly slick technique all over the place but it tends to blend into the mix without being that obvious. I just think Adam and Joel have different strengths.
The typical 'metalhead' mentality on the comments' section here where people think just because Adam states that Joel plays clean, that he is not up to standard. That's not what he was insinuating at all. Grow up people, seriously.
well if they watched more of what adam d says about joel they would know that hes the real mastermind behind alot of the riffs, adam just adds a few parts to hash it out.

I wouldn't say that Killswitch Engage is my favorite band (but they are awesome), but it's hard to find better guitarists than these two...not to mention, they're fucking hilarious.

@thedonutboy21 all you do is play the correct note with the volume turned down, and then use the volume dial to quickly turn the volume up and down at the right time. (I think it might be 2nd fret for one of them and 12th for another on drop C, but not sure...)
I honestly love anything played in dropped C tuning because it gives that "heavy yet melodic" vibe! But I'm also a sucker for drop B tuning like from bands like mudvayne, parkway drive etc... to name a few!

as a guitar player, joel is a little more advanced, and you're saying overall adam is better, but we truthfully don't know joel's potential and ability with other instruments so we can't be sure in that regard..
what the hell is that chord adam plays at 5:36 ?? sure doesn't sound like a regular C power chord to me and I can't figure out anything that sounds like it played in that position.
Did you figure it out yet? I figured 4 years now, you'd know what he was doing, if not, He's playing an inverted chord by using a root and a low 5th, instead of the normal higher 5th.
