AFAIK, right now there are NO docs. I think they're trying to make it as intuitive as possible providing hotkeys in the lower right corner as you're working. Also, you can join/ask on the Discord if you need help. Lastly, there's a link to the Wiki within the Discord. (I'd post it here, but not sure if it's meant to be public or not).
@@RadTechDad Thanks. I've always been a slow learner, and have never been able to just tool around to figure things out. I need to read manuals that lay out the ground rules (when I learned Max 25 years ago, before even touching the software I read a 2k page manual first. Then when I actually used it, I remained miles ahead of everyone else in class who only learned by clicking around!) It's too bad the trend the past 15 years has been to de-emphasize written documentation :(
@@JonHuhnMedical I agree. I like to go through the manual as it gives an "overview" of what the thing is about. That being said, maybe someone will put one together either from the wiki or from experience.
Yes... I'm trying to follow along with the released 1.0 version and it seems radically different. With all of the buzz around Plasticity, I'm a little perplexed in that 'from the ground up' tutorials seem non-existent. All of the content that I've found seems to be from folks well versed in Blender , and sure for them this is likely so intuitive that it needs no documentation.
I hope proper documentation and new tutorials will come with the release, I can't get offset face loop to work like in the video and couldn't find a tool with similar function, got stuck.
I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I never get that little window that pops up to let me set the dimensions of my square or cylinder. I just have to draw them as close as I can to the size I want, but there's no adjustment.
Do you think plasticity is the best way to export nerbs to blender? I’m learning blender and fusion 360 for technical models and 3d game assets. I want to learn 3d modeling in blender, but I feel like nerbs modeling will be faster and easier for hard surfaces modeling. Thanks for all your videos and help. Sorry if my questions or comments have been a burden. Hope all is going well with your family
NURBS - non-uniform rational b-spline. Both have their advantages, but personally, I still find making advanced geometry much faster in blender. You can't beat modifiers, lol. Especially with stuff like speedflow, hard ops, box cutter, mesh machine, etc, blender can be super powerful.
hey Jono, don't know if you can edit these titles or not, but it would really help to have "Lesson 1", "Lesson 2" etc... the playlist is numbered but the lessons are not, thanks
Sure thing Dubley, I have now numbers them from | Part 1 to | Part 8 there is still 2 more to come out but Now 100% sure when they will come with a bit of luck in 2 to 4 weeks time as they are going to be a little more involved
@@Keep-Making thank you - great tuts, btw, although my version (0.5.41) is a bit glitchy but that might be becoz it's running on win7 (although Blender 2.9 runs just fine)
avid Blender (mesh modeler) and Solidworks (3D parametric modeler, NURBS). are their any Ngon style cutters a la Boxcutter add-on for Blender for Plasticity??
The On Screen Display in the video, showing the keyboard, mouse and keystrokes. Is that part of your screen recording software, or are you using a separate program to display this helpful information? Would you share the name of the software you use to record and edit your tutorials and/or the On Screen Display in this video, please?
Thanks for the tutorials! I just started to learn 3d modeling and found Plasticity to be the one program that feels right and easy to use.
Great to hear!
I just bought the full version, and these tutorials are so out of date they're more confusing than anything. Also, there's no help docs??

Is there a way to boolean cut (difference) something and keep the solid (if it was a solid) that was the cut mesh?

Also how do you turn a sheet into object after you loft. Thanks
Please make an up to date version of this and slow down. :)
Is plastcity compatible with linux?
I'm happy with that
Can you import a scan? I make custom foot orthotics and am looking for a replacement for Meshmixer to modify meshes.
Extrude does nothing for me. I don't think it's possible to get this wrong.
Great tutorial. Thank you!
wow.. this is blender
Looks great. The only thing I don't understand is why this is not simply a blender addon?
this brilliant and very clear tutorial!
