You did a great job in your room with the space you have. The plants really make it so homey and cozy. Also love the beautiful chocolate wrapper pictures.
To hide under bed storage: add a bed skirt to lay under the mattress
To hide the door: put posters on it or just enough to cover the fake window portion of it
obsessed with this apartment! love the character and decoration, also great way of making of maximizing the space!

I would get a loft bed for your room, it will look nice since you have high ceilings and will give you extra space! Just a thought :)

I also work partly from home. I used to think that having my work desk and my bed in the same room made the room too crowded but I'm happy to know that it's like that for other people living in expensive cities too.
Hair on fleek! Love the cute accents like the beams with the aluminum paneling, especially the mirror and wallpaper situation in the bathroom 💞💞

If the stuff on top of the soil is white it’s probably not mold, just a calcium build up. Completely fine and healthy for your plant and comes from calcium in tap water!
Save yourself money and just get contact paper for the desk! It ensures you'll find the color/texture you want as well.

The tin ceiling is great! And I’m thinking you came from a very nice home. The fridge is fine. This apartment is really cute but I think you need to save money and get a place of your own, and make it yours. You’ll do an amazing job. Take it from someone who’s been on her own by herself, fora long time! And holy cow! What a great bathroom!

For plants, try looking at local small business in Brooklyn! A lot of black owned shops are fairly priced!

Have you thought about a bed skirt for your bed?! The boxes honestly are not that noticeable but if you did want a little more aesthetically pleasing look you could just easily cover the under bed with a bed skirt

I think your videos would be better if you didn't address the negative things people might say or feel all the time. You like what you like, just live with it. Who cares if someone doesn't like your chocolate wrappers that you use as decoration.

You can add a bed skirt to your bed & you won’t see storage under bed. I would also find an interesting drape idea for the clothes hanging at end of room. Just some ideas

The mild is natural and is a way of your plant saying your watering too much or your soil doesn’t have much aeration and good drainage . Let it dry out a bit and then poke the soil to mix the mould in the soil so you can’t see it. 😊

really enjoyed the video Sarah! if you're comfortable, I would love to see a video on where you shop for bras. I've moved to exclusively wearing bralettes / unlined bras since the pandemic and am always on the lookout for recs!
thank you Emily!! and omg i’ll definitely put that on my list of video topics (no guarantee when i’ll get around to it though 😅) i almost always get my bras from the department store (macy’s, lord & taylor, etc.) clearance rack though!! usually the selection and quality range is greater :) for some reason the dkny bras are always rly comfy for me too if you’re looking for specific brand recs!

(fr it definitely is a learning process for me, but i try to keep a healthy calendar and prioritize my social activities - most times though i’m rly bad at this and it shows in my spotty upload schedule haha) 🥲
You can use some jewelry pockets for your bras. All love. Also, you can buy a skirt for your bed so you can hide the storage.
I think because your ceiling is soo high you could almost do a platform bed and give yourself much more space. I love the huge window you have :) to hide the door what about a really nice wallpaper? you could attach the wall paper to cardboard and attach the cardboard to the door that way you arnt gluing wallpaper direct to the door. The tin stamp ceiling is very 1920s and gorgeous :) very cool
you could get a little bed skirt/trim to cover the under bed boxes! could be cute--love your space by the way :)

I think the idea i got from her apartment search videos is that there was actually 2 other options they were interested in but they took too much time to decide and they got bought already. This was one of the last ones they both liked the look of besides her bedroom size. So they didn’t want it to get taken again and it was at the end of the time they had to move into somewhere. So this ended up being the final choice.
hii!! @mally cat definitely hit the nail on the head! 🙂 this wasn’t our most ideal option but we were getting pretty far in our apartment hunt and decided to settle for this one b/c we generally liked the interior and quirks of this unit. i might’ve mentioned some negative things in the video (whoops 😅) but overall i rly love our apartment and hope it didn’t come off as ungrateful or picky!!

I work from home and ended up moving my desk out of my room and into a window corner of my living room and I like it so much more. I feel more productive out of the bedroom. Lol
i was thinking of doing that too!! but wasn’t sure if itd be ideal since i share the apartment 😅 (maybe i’ll try it though haha)

I’m not sure if it’s different in New York but typically changing light bulbs is the tenants job and not managements
ah that makes sense, i was mostly confused because the light bulb didn’t work when i moved in vs my roommates which worked 🥲

try looking into the settings of your electric stove! i've got one and at the highest temp mine boils water in less than five minutes.

This apt has nice ceilings the bathroom is wow really nice love the kitchen sink and wooden shelves. All of the plants look great. But wow the price even splitting the cost in half of this apt I just couldn't I just like to save my money.

You can buy a bed skirt it will hide rhe boxes under bed.

3400 lowkey isnt even bad for a 2 bd. florida’s rent prices are almost equivalent and 2 bds are typically within 2k-3k these days while the wage is $15 still, at least in ny high paying jobs are accessible 🥲 my dream is to move back to ny as i was born and raised there. i wouldnt mind brooklyn or the bronx

i actually was supposed to live with my roommate two years ago but it never ended up happening because of covid so we decided to room this time around 😅 otherwise i’d definitely love to get a place with my bf next time! (it’ll probably be in a year after our leases end)

I live in Brooklyn New York for 54 years and for the amount that you both are paying, both bedrooms should be huge with a Terrace. You're paying for the neighborhood not for the apartments.
