love that the last one is exactly what you needed/want but omgee #5????? I'm mourning it and it's not even me. idk with something as good as that in NYCCCC ??SOME SORTA SACRIFICES GOTTA BE MADE 😭
I'm trying to seriously understand how people afford 3-4k rent a month. Is everybody just making $100k+ a year and what is it that ya'll are doing for work lol?
love that you found your perfect place but me PERSONALLY I would have chosen no.5 and just put my walking boots on for amenities. That bedroom was GORGEOUS
The apartment with outdoor space is just PERFEEECT, i would have chosen this one FOR SURE, i just love creating a coffee outdoor space, sitting, drinking and contemplating the view!
I have been thinking and waiting for this video soooo impatiently lol ahhhh so excited to watch this. Congrats on the new apartment and thank you for taking us along on your journey ❤️
We have used a washer/dryer combo when we were in New Zealand. Not sure what others’ experiences are, but for us, I didn’t find it washed and dried clothes effectively. We had to actually air dry our clothes (including under garments), because the dryer portion could never get them dry. They are supposed to be more energy efficient I think, but honestly, the washer and dryer separately are so much better.
Washer and dryer separately is so much better especially if you are someone who does multiple loads at a time. With a combo you wouldn’t be able to have 1 load washing and 1 load drying therefore it would take so much longer to do your laundry.
@@stephb3321 see I do combine since I live in an apt with shared laundry and we pay on average $2 for each washer and dryer load which means $4 to do a complete load of laundry. So I wouldn’t spend $4 just to wash and dry underwear. Now I do separate loads for clothes, sheets, and towels but that’s all the dividing I do when it comes to laundry.
@@SarahSchneider2 got it. That makes sense. And I think I did something similar when I was living in an apartment. Wow, $2 seems like a lot! I think it only cost me 75 cents per load, but this was decades ago.
Welcome to Brooklyn. Please take time to research its rich and diverse history. Brooklyn can be a bit complicated. The neighborhood you chose has gentrified significantly over the past decade and not everyone is happy about it. We love it though when people understand where they are and get involved in ways that celebrate the neighborhood in its fullness. Also, no shade but Crown Heights, especially Nostrand is the center of the Caribbean Community and there is lots going on downstairs right where you were. Just maybe not your vibe?
People really should do their research and respect the existing culture when they move into it. Especially when moving into a luxury apartment that's in a more affordable (gentrified) area.
Yes as a person born and raised in ny I would’ve never turned down that apartment to live near a overpriced coffe shop she just didn’t wanna say it wasn’t the best neighborhood
@@sobi-mc5bldid y’all respect the yt people when y’all moved into their hoods? No. You didn’t and you stole and changed the neighborhood so why should they care? The shouldn’t care.
The apartment you choose was perfect!! i wish you the best on this new journey! and I'm so excited for the moving and home decor content! so happy for you Alia💗✨
For someone who's been living in Toronto, this was really helpful to see whats it's like living in New York City! I loved the last apartment, can't wait to see your next video!
omg i just came across your video again after like 2 years??? the last apartment hunting i saw from you was when you were still in washington (if im not mistaken??) and you had only 40k+ subs but now its crazyyy you’ve grown so muchhh alia!! good for you!!
Love it!!! The one with the dark counter and back splash you can look into the renter friendly vinyl. A option.. no idea how it holds up but as long you’re aware of it I think it will be okay. But so many options! ❤
i thought you would choose between the #1 and last house and you chose the last house! im so excited for your cooking videos in the new house🥹💖💖 moving vlogs are the besttt🧚🏼
For apartment 8, that tracks given that most East Village apartments were tenement houses. For anyone moving to NYC, I recommend brushing up on the history neighborhood history because that effects the types of apartments that are available. Especially at a lower price point.
Alia, i still remember you guys doing an apt hunt for your current place. How time flewww 😅 i hope you found the apartment u guys were hoping for. Goodluck on the move (again)! ❤
I’m so shook brokers fees are that expensive holy crap 😂 I love these videos so much you do a great job making them entertaining and engaging. Also congratulations on your new place 🎉❤ you guys deserve it and work so hard!!
The place with dark counters, you could get a kitchen island with a light top where you could film on. Plus if it was on wheels, you could move closer to natural sunlight
Congratulations dear it’s a good appartement very bright and so soft I can’t wait to see your decorations and haw your organized there good luck 👍 e very happy for you both ❤love you 😊
I am really looking forward to having my own apts hunting in New York 🙂 you made seem very interesting, and I love New York even though I have never visited it yet ❤
If you can afford 4000 a month, why on earth would you rent?? Why don't you buy an apartment like that? Or are they mainly renting not selling in New York so they can keep pushing up these CRAZY prices? I have so many questions.......
I mean, to buy something you really need it. Like, I'm gonna live here for years, so it's worth buying. If I'm gonna be here for a year, no need to buy
Because she probably doesn't want to have a million dollar mortgage and I mean that literally 😭 Just really doesn't make sense if you don't want to stay long term especially in times like this in a city like nyc
To each its own but idky anyone would want to live in New York City it’s very pricey and this coming from a New Yorker. Long Island, Queens, Upstate Ny are more affordable options you rent a home if you’re not ready to own yet.
It's crazy to me, that new yorkers have to look so late for a New apartment. I HH, Germany It's like a 6 month search if lucky, the prices are high for germany, but It's 4x less then New York. It is really diffrent.

IM OBSSESED WITH THE 5
Same!!! The bedroom in #5 was my favorite bedroom. My jaw dropped with that character
i thought that was IT for them!
The one with the terrace right out of the bedroom so nice to be able to read sit outside that one was my favorite😊

I'm stuck on #5! The living space and the terrace!!!! 😮❤❤
I'm trying to seriously understand how people afford 3-4k rent a month. Is everybody just making $100k+ a year and what is it that ya'll are doing for work lol?
I know, it‘s crazy. Influencers make way too much money😂
Salaries in NYC are much higher to compensate for the cost of living
3-4k split between two people isn’t that far fetched
Content creator’s probably😂😂
Wages in nyc are higher bc of cost of living
love that you found your perfect place but me PERSONALLY I would have chosen no.5 and just put my walking boots on for amenities. That bedroom was GORGEOUS
The last apartment just instantly scream “home”!! It also reminded me of your Seattle apartment ❤ congratulations so excited for this new chapter!
I thought the same!
This is great! Excited to see someone looking in Brooklyn. Most of the apartment hunting videos I keep finding on TH-cam are just Manhattan!

@@SarahSchneider2 exactly. And I won’t combine things like jeans with underwear just to save on the number of loads.

the disconnect from reality is crazy 4k for 1 bed 1 bath is insane
No thats just simply the reality anything decent is 2,000$ and up now especially a two bed room ya sorry anything else is a disconnected reality

this is so amazing alia❤
I'm surprised you didn't live in Brooklyn initially. I mean, it's cheaper than Manhattan and the vibe is very you.
I would’ve picked the last one too, it has everything you need and the washer/dryer makes your life so much easier. I didn’t like the dark apartments
You can always add cute renter friendly finishes, like trim etc.
Just throwing my 2 cents😊
Congrats Alia!
happy for you two cant wait to see moving vlog and decor your new apartment 🎉
