Thanks Greg. Great to see you getting an HGV rescue job for the Merc 1820 to shine in. Your recovery method here, winching forward, was right on the money. Way to many HGV's to move out of the way for a reverse pull.
You wrote on the screen that you could have parked closer for the winch out, but the less layers you have on the winch drum the stronger the pull so it was better for you to be that wee bit further away and pay out more rope 👍. Nice job with no drama.
Remember towing pop wagon over the curb it got stuck either side balanced it up towed him off with 1960 old landy short wheel base got case pop for my troubles nice vid
Aw! Felt sorry for the truckie he just got caught out with a 'cunning plan' that went bad. By the grace of God how many have gotten away with such stunts, to avoid hr infringements etc. To have a static truck audience, how humilating! Thanks for not showing his face. No wonder he/she screamed off after being released!
Good job once again Greg with that pull just a thought why don't you have one line as a single and the other one as a double so your ready for both just in case
There were ways for this guy to help himself, first he could have raised the air suspension and dropped the landing legs pull the pin and try to get the unit out from under it using the diff lock with the lifting axle up…Then reset from a different angle, unfortunately drivers today have never really had any hardship so know nothing regarding break downs or getting stuck…I would not have given up until that unit was back on tarmac…Many will make excuses about how the driver just made a mistake, no he f**ked up big time …
I'm torn between the questions "why?" and "how?" I've done some stupid things (sinking a minibus to its axles at Download one year), but that in next level arsery.
Get the middle axle up and he will get out. Ohh wait he's loaded. Honestly when your that heavy why even try this?! Stupidity is everywhere. But to be honest it's not really the drivers fault it's the country itself! Not enough parking for lorries!
Greg, that merc to tug a ful artic over a curb is a tidy bit of kit,you can't get rid of it,especially with the hiab on it. Stay safe bud!
Ha! That truck driver after coming off the verge was like “Ok Letz Goooo” and he was outta there!!! 😂😂😂😂😂

Winching forwards was really the only option there. Great old merc 1820. Shit happens end of the day safe to say he wont be rushing to do it again 😝👍
