Can't help but ask myself, "What would Ron Pratt do?" -Maybe set out traffic cones beside the trailer to give a slight buffer to work in? -Wear a helmet? -Keep the triangles out while work is being done? -Look out for the driver and keep him from putting himself in danger? -Not remain under the truck while lifting and lowering it? Also... -Remember it's never safe to go under a load. If another truck had hit your trailer, Blue could have come down on top of you. -Maybe carry a sign to stick on the back of your trailer - Slow Down - Move Over.
The Tow Truck Driver was courteous and professional, when you see any vehicle Parked on the side of the road it is only for your safety and the person hooking up to the vehicle that has broken down for you to slow down and move over. God Bless You. As always, safe travels. 👍👍✌️.
when i ran over a landscape in the middle of a cul-de-sac, after a 3 day rain storm, and sunk my trailer tires to the bottom of the box, 2 of these big rig wreckers showed up. i didn't know how to get out so one of the wrecker drivers' showed me, one wrecker pulled on the DOT bumper while i moved the truck around to get out and around the landscape. it was a muddy mess, but they had a bobcat to clean up the mud. again, i never saw a ticket, must of hit my company with it. taught me one thing, never use the suburbs to turn around if you miss your turn to delivery point.
So sorry Baby Blue go sick. Sure hope it isn’t too serious and your back on the road. Glad you were safe during all that, not a good lace to be on the side of the road. Not good but an awesome video to show what a truck driver goes through and still keeps going. Glad you were OK. Get Baby Blue fixed and back on the road..
This wasn’t his first issue with this truck either. He ran out of gas one day too close to a pilot. The truck said it has 1/4 of a tank but stalled at a red light and he had to get it started with starting fluid to get it to the gas station. Seems to me he needs some preventive maintenance more often.
I don't know what engine BB has, but looking at a diagram of a dd15 looks like the bottom of the crankcase breather? Dunno, but glad you got of the road safely.
Mr PB. Nah that’s the air compressor. Plug in the bottom blew out looks kind of like a freeze plug. The crank case breather is on the opposite side of the engine
Looks like you lost your oil filter that round hole is missing a oil filter did you hear a large-boom under the rig beforehand that would have been it.
Doesn't this leave a big empty felling in your stomach having Baby blue hooked up to a tow truck kinda like when Ole Blue broke down and had to be towed for a hundred miles to a KW shop your truck becomes an extension of you l know l would feel sick to my.stomach l have been there myself.
That “big whole” is the bottom side of the air compressor. The oil filter is a cartridge type on the same side but further forward up top. I’m guessing air compressor oil supply o ring or the return o ring.
There are move over laws in Kansas and Missouri, most just don't move over! I had to laugh when I watched this video, I used to haul equipment for that tow company. Lazer pipes Services out of Grandview Mo
Hey JGB Travels just a little advice the place you stood for so long at 2:21 is called the dead man zone. I am a tow truck operator in North Carolina so i know about these dangers. Just giving you a heads up because if a truck would loose control and hit your rig it would push it into u and kill you instantly crushing u between your truck and the tow truck. Be safe and safe travels Please if you see amber lights or a tow truck Slow Down And Move Over!!
Tony Smith And the rain drops could change to purple tomorrow what's the point he's no more in then danger zone then standing on the other side? Really!? These are the kind of things that make some tow truck drivers better then others. That comment is stupid!? Just Saying
Johnb433 Brandt Watch Ron Pratt, he is a tow Truck Driver and he's always saying Slow down and move over. He will not let anyone stand in the dead zone, neither would my Husband, who has also driven Tow Trucks. You can find Ron Pratt's TH-cam channel by googling Midwest Truck, they are in Scott City, Missouri.
Aparently they don't have any move over laws in Kansas. But in Virginia were I live, you either move over or slow down or face a hefty fine plus have some points against your driving record
Marcellus Moyer i see some cars moving for the most part....here in cali its terrible. cars will not move over for anything and when i cant move over and slow down i start getting honked at like crazy.
they need help unit trunks to deal with the traffic. I'm glad Tennessee passed the law if you don't move over someone is broke down or an emergency vehicles or road construction. it's an automatic$500.00 fine.
ok.. thanks..really enjoy your channel...I don't drive truck but l have my air brake license...l just renewed it...l found that this time around was more difficult then in the past..and much longer...I actually failed the second part of the three this time so i had to rewrite...First time l've ever failed any one of my driving tests...I also have my "M"...
Just a word of advice JBG. You should never turn your back on traffic like you did while picking up your triangles. Those lights warn sober drivers but attract drunk ones. And don't let me get started on the inattentive while texting or using the cell phone ones! More Troopers lose their lives to people hitting them while they are out of their vehicles, than by any other means. Keep yourself safe, I enjoy your video's!
Amazing that even in states with a pull over law, idiots never attempt to move over. I even back off and give them room to get into the other lane but they just keep on going without thought. Even tow truck drivers refuse sometimes. SMDH................
MrBogeyone the saddest part is they know the law. he made a video of a state trooper asking if he needed help with anything and people knew how to get over cause there was a trooper on the side of the road. now that hes gone and jbg is getting towed they dont care.
I would not want that guys job, climbing under a truck that size hoping a part don;t break or a weld , and the cars that won't get over and then driving a truck pulling a truck and trailer lot of Danger on that job.
I used to do it. Was a very interesting job. We also did rollover recoveries for semis too. That part took several hours. On accident we working for 22hours straight cleaning it up rolling it over securing it and hauling back to our impound.
So get a desk job in some sleepy town processing paperwork...and some dumb nut job pissed off at the world comes in and mows everybody with an AR-15, including you.
Zeamus634 I think that DOT Rules, I remember Lisa Kelly getting a ticket on Ice Road Truckers in Alaska as she was missing a Triangle she only had 2 in the truck she thinks someone may have stolen the 3rd one.
10', 100', & 200' on the triangles...why do 97% of the drivers get it wrong? Perhaps the triangle storage box needs directions on or in it to help the drivers get it right.
In the state of Missouri, they are considered emergency vehicle operators. Fail to pull over and slow down, or yield, and you'll be seeing state police in your rear view mirrors.
well i bet you find out it one of them important parts! one it needs to run! like the one NASCAR driver said yes the engine broke the other guy asked what broke the thing on the front of the crankshaft broke off! they told me it was a important part!
In my state its a law that you must move over or slow way down if you cant move over, or face a hefty fine. Just a few years ago a owner of a road side service company was killed on the side of the road working on a semi. Idiot drivers!
Hey JBG I hope you don’t have to be in this situation again, but if you are.Do us viewers a favor.Let the tow operator do his job and keep yourself out of harms way.Like he said people don’t care.Well we do and we want to continue seeing your videos partner.God bless and stay safe on those rodes driver. Thanks for being a great trucker 👍🏼
Alan H DeBoer Sr that's what every one say what true don't realize is even those trucks break down...they all have the same engines just different power... New def crap engines..

imagine if the tow truck operator was actually Ron, this would be awesome having a trucking youtube towing another trucking youtuber
Who the heck is Ron Pratt? Is he running for President?
@@Bruinpena He should ~ he has a great tow channel.

That's right
Old comment but Ron would've definitely introduced himself too. Dude in this video just walked by without saying anything lol,

Respect for all those who help on busy roads!
Leaving your underwear on the highway could be a hazmat issue, lol
Gary M 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Saat undur diri left repaint.
It may have already been a haz mat accident :D
Tow truck makes the perfect 2nd car. Thanks for filming this content of hooking up John, I found it very interesting.

Never a dull moment with you. JBG. You lead an exciting life. ha, ha !
Quite a bit of dead time, watching the freeway. Thank you
Hello . I m not truckers , abus driver in UK but like to watching your video. Seems like you are a good men. Respect. Sir .

I know exactly how that tow operator feels I threw my mag light at a guy that hit me with his mirror
You lucky I was not armed that day. It hit my freshly painted rear hitch and scraped it up bad!
@@Bruinpena We're lucky you're not armed, period.
Looks like you lost your oil filter .. can you give us an update on what it was ?
I hope the reefer has enough fuel to sit through the holiday unless the boss is getting a rental tractor.
I've been towed or ON THE HOOK a few times in my career. Not a good feeling

yup, there's not enough oil on the road to be the contents of the oil pan.

This is why tow companies should have two people at the job site one flagging while the other is prepping the vehicle to be towed
Pulling the driveshafts is gonna be interesting.

Kansas has a Mover Over Law. Those people are just being assholes.
MannyMan Ya I do that as well people are just to inpatient and stupid
We have that law in texas
its a law nationwide now i believe but its rarely enforced
SCARRY..AS HELL LISTENING TO
THE TRAFFIC GOING BY SO CLOSE..

Gerald Beard gotta catch them first
its nationwide now i believe but problem is in enforcement even when they get a ticket for it they keep doing it
the bolt on the underreach dident look to good
Been there and done that on I-35 back in early 2000's
Lost the bottom end of the compressor. Never seen one fail that badly before.
Looked like where the oil filter what was missing
Moving over for someone on the hard shoulder is not a requirement in the UK, I do especially if a guy is working on the traffic side.
Was there a part 1 to this?...couldn't find it...Not sure what happened here..

You never remove your triangles untill your ready to move your defeating the whole purpose of putting them out there in the first place
damn right
Hese got his red and blues he is “good” don’t worry .....lololol 3 inch by quarter inch lights
Very smart move,,, Remove the triangles first, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING ??
Sorry Ali I don’t remember the details of this video
Freightliners love being towed.
I knew that from another channel I watch that runs a company in Scott city Missouri
Same here.
it's crazy how people have no consideration for others on the side of the road. But if they broke down, they want you to get over for them
in the state Washington its a big no no pull to the left
That is the bottom of your air pump. The cover popped off.
I would not want that guys job, climbing under a truck that size hoping a part don;t break or a weld , and the cars that won't get over and then driving a truck pulling a truck and trailer lot of Danger on that job.

who pays for the repairs, you or your boss. and if you can't deliver your load because of the break down on time do you get more time to deliver it
He is a company driver they pay for it all. Company truck
He was not supposed to disconnect the drive shaft to prevent gearbox damages ?? How come he didn't? Someone can awnser this, please?
mainly do that i believe on the automatic transmission trucks but it should be done all the time.
@@jays106 yeah that's how I was taught to do it... Even in manual gearboxes.

pain having to dismantle the drive train
What happened to the automatic transmission truck you had
Different companies different truck
should have move over law in UK to.thought it was oil filter housing
It's a fairly new law, and know one cares or is even aware of it for the most part.
It’ll be really funny if the tow truck guy was “Plaza Towing” filming another episode; when TH-camrs meet
walk on the grass side not the highway side...
Rest in peace baby blue
Looks like you had an accident after a cup of that truck stop Peruvian coffee.
I swear sir, mr tow truck man an I jumped outta the way the wrench flew outta his hand sir? oh this camera?? doesnt work after that
The air pump shares engine oil with the engine.
dont know why he dident hook into the air dryer . shold look at ron pratt videos and there was no coans out wile he was working on hookup of truck
