He wasn't reported at all. He probably would have made it to his destination just fine. The only reason he was caught at all was because he passed a scale at the state lines, was called in for a DOT inspection of his equipment- had to talk with Department of Transportation cops ( DOT) and they quickly picked up on his deficits. Had he been left alone, he probably would have made it exactly where he was going without incident. He's an alcoholic alright- but one used to making a paycheck. As an aside- I'll agree, in his state, he had no business behind the wheel. Any disciplinary actions from his job pale in comparison to criminal convictions.

    • @kennyworth007
      @kennyworth007 ปีที่แล้ว +13

Such as what they call in the trucking industry - ''a service failure'' , ie, being late for a pickup or delivery. You may get a few dirtbag loads after that. But, believe me, no company wants to get a call from any DOT cops saying '' we've arrested your driver and, impounded your equipment because - your driver is hammered." He should have just slept it off- took his lumps and gone on with life. Many people struggle with alcohol dependency. They work in ALL fields. This guy, while probably used to drinking- should NOT have been behind the wheel.

It became normal to skip Monday's at work, then Tuesdays, etc. A litre of vodka a day would be easy, then it was 4 days completely wasted, 4 days recovering. Repeat and repeat. I never wanted help either, I just wanted to be drunk, not for the partying or tipsy feeling, I would just go to the store, buy a litre and lay in bed. It is a messed up place to be when you can't remember the past days but assume it's normal. It's mostly about following directions. They know lots of people cant do this shit stone cold sober. If you notice though, when people are drunk they almost never follow the directions correctly even if they are "physically capable" of performing the task. Like for the counting one, the guy counted lower than he needed to. For the finger tip to thumb test, he forgot how many times he was supposed to do it and thought he had to do it on both hands.

He is already under arrest for dui. He can refuse the test without consequence for the refusal. Meaning no additional charges for that refusal. However the implied consent law, which is signed at the time you receive your driver license, has a stipulation that if you refuse, your license is suspended for 1 year. So there is a consequence for refusal, it is just weirdly presented. But they have to read it out a certain way because of the legal aspects.

I think it’s done that way for a few reasons.
      1. Not every officer knows every law that applies. They know the general terms, but not the whole text. This leads us to point 2.
      2. For a case to stick, the lawyers and court need to know that a person was read whatever applicable right they have, and either showing the card to the camera or a visible phone with the text on it can confirm that the person’s rights were read to them truthfully and accurately.
The same goes for the definite “yes/no”. If an officer doesn’t get a close, clear appropriation of the above, the court can throw the whole case.
By being *that* rote, it seals the case and proves that the defendant was read the text of the right and either agreed or didn’t agree to what rights they had.
      It’s better for everyone involved.

I became that "normal" in my drinking career. People never knew how drunk I actually was . But definitely sober These days. It's dangerous because it means someone has a dependency and tolerance and always think they can drive safely.

But I had one guy bring a whole bottle of fireball in, said he was "just giving it to me" that was weird. Well, I kept an eye on the bottle, and slowly notice the level dropping. Sent him straight home. Had another guy who started out great, but towards the end, he would get there at 9am and be drinking strong beers. Fucking up work, and obviously smashed by noon. Parted ways with him.

Nearly half the nation are convicted felons for victimless non-violent offenses who are PERMANENTLY BANNED from possessing a firearm or even a single bullet, for life!
(There are far greater non-violent felons than violent felons that no longer have God-given 2nd amendment gun rights!)
(Example; DUI offenses without an accident!) The ETERNAL felony is based on what could have happened rather than what actually did happen! (Ironically, they still have voting rights!)
GUN RIGHTS need to be BANNED from everyone and not just NON-VIOLENT white-collar offenders!
VOTE to PERMANENTLY BAN GUN RIGHTS, and the NRA for fairness in EQUALITY ... (When non-violent felons can't have 2nd amendment rights, then nobody should!) PERIOD!

    • @turtletruth

The "do-gooder" gun owners shall eventually destroy the 2nd amendment on their own, by self-righteousness!
What part of shall not infringe do the "do-gooder" gun owners not understand!
Nearly half the nation are convicted felons for victimless non-violent offenses who are PERMANENTLY and ETERNALLY BANNED from possessing a firearm or even a single bullet, for life! (Self-righteous gun owners shall eventually lose their guns & bullets too!)
FACT: There are more non-violent than violent felons without their God-given gun rights thanks to self-righteous do-gooders! (Non-violent felons can still vote, and abolishing "guns & bullets" from the backstabbing "do-gooders" is exactly how they'll continue to vote, in record numbers, for EQUALITY!)
