Great review just what i was looking for
I got the same one and had mines on high on fortnite and got 120 to 144 but once i installed afterburn it ruined the whole gaming experience and fortnite couldnt play at 30 fps. I duno what happened. Tried resetting the laptop and doing everything i did before afterburn and can’t get it back to that high settings 120 range again 😢.
How much is the wattage of the graphics card

I bought this laptop, but then changed my mind because I've got a 17 inch Acer Nitro 5 and didn't want to downsize especially to a bad screen quality (as they call it "IPS level"). But I decided to take the chance and open her up and wow, the screen is actually better than my Nitro, even though Acer says full IPS. The blacks on the MSI are better than the Nitro and I am not suffering in game by going down 2 inches. I'm very pleased with this for the price, but I had to go from 3 hard drives down to just one which was annoying. Also, unless you really need it, disable the intel turbo unless you really need it. For games like fortnite, running at 2.5Ghz makes almost no difference. Even with a triple fan laptop stand, the CPU runs at 80-90C and the single laptop fan is very loud. Overall, this laptop is a bargain at £700 (in today's prices). My Nitro 5 is about 3 years old now, cost £700 and still plays AAA titles on the GTX 1650. Now, the equivalent Nitro 5 is about £1,300 because the market is currently a rip-off. But yea, the Cyborg doesn't feel cheap at all. Good stuff.

There is also a model with a 4060 i own. I guess best version of this laptop to buy but considering the price its better to buy a other laptop.
But even so aside from the dull screen wich is replacable this laptop deff packs a punch if resize bar is properly setup.
I also swapped the 512gb m.2 with a 4TB m.2 Cuz games are bigger than ssds now a days.
I have this laptop and thoroughly enjoying it - your review was completely accurate (I also don't like the trackpad either) and the mediocre display. But I managed to get mine for $699 CAD and I'm playing AAA games no problem at all - and I'm loving it! Thanks for your hard work on this review - it's perfectly done!
Can it run rdr2?
Yes @@D.A.Y.K.O- I can easily get 45-60 fps at a mix of medium and high settings. I should say that I gave the model with the RTX 2050. If you get the 4050 or 4060 you'll easily get a stable 60fps on a mix of high and ultra settings with DLSS quality.

@@D.A.Y.K.O you shuold have no issues whatsoever brother. 3060 is still a very capable GPU in 2024 and easily outshides 3050 / 2050. The only thing missing compared to 40 series is frame gen, which could be helpful, but isn't a deal-breaker because it also has the ability to introduce lag. You should be fine.

I would say if you can afford the extra cost, I can’t recommend anything other than the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 OLED check it out its really good
Not the best for vr, idk i constantly run into a issue of displaying my desktop through any app, steamlink, virtual desktop, meta link. Just shows a black screen, sonstimes a yellow !.
I updated drivers, restarted it, nothing, and it was sold to me as a portable reliable vr supporting laptop.
Great review, I was looking at this laptop hearing msi are for gaming. Even though its lower end it sounds great. All i want is a decent laptop for gaming. I only play Football Manager, Call of Duty, Racing games and Train and Air simulator. Sounds like it will smash those games and will run them well. Thinking it can upgrade to 64 gb ram sounds awesome too. For my budget i think you have sold it. Would you agree its the laptop for me. Thanks for the great review.😊😊😊

I just bought this computer but by mistake I bought the MSI Cyborg 15 A12VF-096 - 15.6" FHD 144Hz screen, Intel Core i5-12450H, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, NVIDIA RTX 4060, FreeDOS
What is the difference between Intel Core i5 and Intel Core i7?
Should I return it and buy one that has Intel Core i7 even if it has less RAM and SSD or should I keep the one I already bought?

Don't need to... I5 is good already, u have 4060 and u can run any new triple A game at high setting 60fps +

Just use whatever it comes with unless you know how to install drivers during a windows install. If you do a clean install, not even the trackpad or WiFi will work. In fact, even the SSD may not be detect3d because of the missing intel drivers.
Stuttering could be VRAM, how much VRAM on the GPU?
Its only 4gb but I even turned all the textures down

6GB on the 3050. Stuttering may just be new drivers installed / compiling shaders, or even background activity.

Hows the battery life when not plugged?
it says around 7 hours on currys website, however it isnt stated whether it is whilst gaming or performing regular tasks.
its not very good.... 2 hours.. when gaming needs to be plugged in for maximum performance but i love it ... good price

Boss it is a gaming laptop it generally provides 2 to 3 hours of battery backup so don't worry everything is fine 😅

I have this laptop
And it cooks every game except for online games like cs2
I played ffvii R flawlessly on this beauty and it never stuttered unless you get into the rendering areas which even a 4090ti will lag(the game was not optimized because of the covid 19 breakout)
But anyways the fan is way quieter than any other laptops but it sometimes randomly gets into max speed without even getting a temp higher than 35° C.
If you're interested in this laptop
Even if it's a budget laptop but it will run your games in 120 fps flawlessly.

As fpr fortnite, the game is really stuttery a lot of the time no matter what you use it depends on the internet connection a lot
