Just got mine today with the 4060 and 12th Gen i7 only issue is the ram the 512 storage is okay since I only plan on downloading one-2 games and use it for homework. Also plan on upgrading to a dual (16x2)32gig kit and it should be good plus got it on sale for $799 since best buy was doing a promotion today
What's your view on it ? I'm from Malaysia and recently bought it. I am upgrading from the previous GE60 GTX 660 hahaha. To me, its a power house given the Watts are low. More of energy efficient ?
I'm about to release my full review of this in a few days, so you might want to watch that for all my thoughts! But if I were to summarize it, the laptop is a very enticing choice for people who live on the balance between working and gaming, since it's powerful enough for all work programs, but still has that gaming headroom to take on esports titles and most AAA titles thanks to its DLSS 3.0 support. You are leaving some performance on the table because of its 120W power limit, but the tradeoff for that is it's a much more ergonomic and comfortable (heat-wise and noise-wise) laptop to use. Hope this helps!
@@tommasoprocopio530 yes! Compared to the obviously higher-performing Katana, the Cyborg 15 A12VF doesn't heat up that much, especially on the places you touch. It's much more lappable, because you don't have to worry about covering the bottom intake of multiple fans. And it's much more lighter to carry around-- this has been the lightest gaming laptop I've reviewed all year, and let me tell you, this 32-year old's back isn't built to lug around huge, heavy laptops like the Zephyrus Duo and its power brick anymore. Haha!
@@KevinEvangelista Thank you so much. I've bought this (with 1tb storage and 16g ram) but still didn't tried it. I mainly work for ten hr a day with a dozen of windows from 3 or 4 browsers, with a total of hundreds of tabs (quite demandind, like Google Meet, various Google Documents, Drives and Sheets running), some Libre Office processes and maybe a Gimp, all at once. In the spare times I would like to play some cool new games but without much dedication (I lack time). But more than everything I hope the product stands the the test of time. Do you think honestly I made the right choice? Or I should have go for the Katana?
My country its 750 but little worried bout it being underpowered but if im only playing halo infinite and fortnite whats it matter right? Maybe age of empires would be tough? Is there a way to check these things
I'm digging the latest setup! I'm susbcribed... and I just clicked the notification bell for future content. And yeah - the Cyborg 15 is one of the best ones available right now. I wanted it to have higher RAM configuration, but it should be more than enough for triple A gaming.
Thank you very much my dude! Yeah, been enjoying the Cyborg 15 so far! I love that it's lighter and slimmer than usual gaming laptops-- it looks pretty fine too. Dropping my review of this next week!
I heard from other reviews that MSI has bad hinges and i dont want to buy a laptop only to have to repair it after a while. I just want to know if the hinges are good since everything else looks pretty good in my opinion.
I’m pretty sure they have improved the hinges cuz this is a new model and someone said that it has better build quality than pass Msi laptop also bad hinges only applies to the cheaper model of Msi laptop the more expensive one have a premium build
@@codify1047 I currently have the MSI Cyborg 15 A12vf. I love it! I got an intel core i7-12650H, RTX 4060, 16GB DDR5 ram, 512GB storage SSD, IPS screen. Its a major step up from my previous laptop (Acer aspire 5). The only thing that i dont like about this msi laptop is the battery life, but aside from that i highly reccomend it. Hello! You don't need to have it shipped to the Philippines, since it's available locally at MSI Concept Stores and even distributors like Villman. :D Last I checked, the price was around Php 74,000.
@@jaegerists2172 It is a budget gaming laptop in the general sense-- most laptop pricing here in the Philippines is expensive since you're paying import taxes on top of the sticker price of the laptop. But yeah, I outlined all the reasons why this laptop is worth it in my full review. At sticker price it's worth it, at a sale, it's a steal!
@@tommasoprocopio530 multiple reasons-- but the most obvious one is that the Cyborg 15 A12VF isn't designed to be a performance monster. It's positioned to be a manageable, stylish gaming laptop that's easy to carry around for students and young professionals. Limiting the laptop to just 120W of power cuts down A LOT of weight, because you don't have to put extra fans, heatpipes, and heatsinks just to keep the thermals in check. You can also take a chunk out of the battery (another notoriously heavy part) because having a large battery be charged by a low-wattage brick would take too long, and wouldn't make too much sense to the target audience. Not every laptop is designed to be a power-hungry thermal monster that'll squeeze out every bit of FPS from its components-- different products target different market segments, and I think this one makes okay compromises to hit the requirements of its target audience.
@@KevinEvangelista Definitely it does make sense. May I ask you: do you think this affects productivity, aside from gaming? AND, do you think there is space for overclocking?
@@tommasoprocopio530 For productivity, only a little bit. Generally work apps tend to take advantage of multiple core CPUs, without requiring too much on the speed of the cores. And yes, there is a lot of space for overclocking on the Cyborg 15 A12VF-- you can see the thermal performance on it in my review video, and it's not bad performance from a laptop that just has one fan!
