@@keithsimpson2150 Most countries marines don't have an organic air force either. I don't remember where exactly I heard this comment, but I think it was a movie where a foreign military attachee talked to some Marine officer about this marine air support when the guy said something like: "You mean your country's navy's army has its own air force?"
@@Wolfpack345 Was looking through comments, as soon as I saw that your 'thermal' sight was showing the flare. Flares aren't visible in thermals, and don't wash them out. The first M60 with thermals was, I think the M60A3 (which I served on briefly) with its TTS. I don't think the Starship A2 had them. Glad that @ActionScripter pointed out that you had an earlier model tank w/o them, as I'd have been disappointed if GHPC made that large an error. Ironically, the TTS was actually a better sight than what was integrated on the M1IP and M1A1. Not until the M1A2 with the CITV and associated upgrades to the gunner's sights did we outstrip the 60's sight. Unfortunately, the LRF and fire control computer integration on the A3 was not as clean as on the M1 so despite a better sight picture, and more accuracy overall on the 60A3, the M1 was quicker and more efficient at gunnery.
@@ArchOfficial no, the 60A1 variants did, but the A3 had both the TTS thermal and an LRF with computer. But you had to do some weird range confirm, send to computer step to actually set a firing solution. Took an extra second or too. Did not default to instantly setting first return or last return direct to the computer, so engagements could take an extra second or so.
That's not thermal, just good ol' image intensification. I finally got around to picking the game up. It seems a nice mix of simulation and game. Not that I would have anything against a full sim, I just don't need to give myself a reason to build another sim pit. The fighter pit has cost me enough as it is, lol.
When using thermals the targets should stand out bright green when in white hot. Also you should be able to use the laser ranger finder when engaging. Makes firing super fast.
Night battles are incredible. The sense of claustrophobia, bumping into a T-72 in the dark. And the new graphics are stunning. I was blown up recently while I was busy admiring a T-55 turret launching into the night sky after a cook off. Shades of Ukraine.
this is not thermal because thermal is not affected by light but by heat, this is passive which multiplies other light sources such as stars etc. the driver uses this type of optics for night observation. I have service in M 60
F5 through F8 keys toggle the rest of the shots fired, so small caliber, AI shots, missed shots, and Artillery. AAR accounts for every round fired, could be six rounds or 600.
The M60 is an awesome tank. I think it fits this game better atm than the M1 as it is a match against the T-72M and M1 from East Germany. Worse protected and gun but better SA and reverse speed.
If it's an A1 (M-60) it would be IR and not thermal. Wonder what version of the M-60A1 it is in this game? EDIT: Seeing in the AAR was an M-60A1 (RISE) Passive.
I was wondering about the M60 designation as well. Turtle shaped turret. M60A1 wedge shaped turret. Also night vision on the M60 was IR or white light search light. M60A1 had 2nd generation night vision equipment, but without an IR light source it was not much good past 500 yards, unless you had a significant amount of ambient light. Also much improvement to the coaxial machine gun when the M240 was installed to replace the POS M73 and M219 used in earlier models. Also I have no good words for the M85 that was installed in the commanders cupola. Thank god for the M2HB on the M1. I crewed/commanded on M48A5, M60 and M60A1 series MBT's. Basic training and AIT February 1983 to June 1983 Ft. Knox, KY. Three years later when our brigade was reorganized into the 35th Infantry Division I was transformed into11C20 in a 577 doing FDC, for the next 3 years of my enlistment in the ARNG.
@@scoots60 Served in M60A3, M1IP, and M1A1. Yeah, the M85 jammed a lot, and smaller TC's had to basically jump off the TC platform holding the chain to charge them. At gunnery I had a TIS that needed a nitrogen purge, kept telling the Master Gunner in the tower, who was an A1 tanker. He was pissed that I told him the TIS was a POS until I went to the tower later for an AAR and pointed out that the night vision the tower was using to record engagements was a TTS out of a 60A3

Woohoo! Back from patrol and its time for another Wolfpack video! Gotta start catching up on the ABDA campaign as well. While I don't have time to learn another game like Gunner Heat PC, I do enjoy watching you play it. It gives me a chance to experience a game that I otherwise wouldn't be able to try for myself. I have also heard there have been some big changes in IL2: Flying Circus: the wings have been fixed, the Verdun map is being worked on, and the Sopwith Snipe has been released! First entirely new flight model since Rise of Flight! Any chance you might do a review of the Snipe, or try some MP action again?
If you're using the setting where the gun aiming is automatically engaged when you go to the gunner sight, you can click RMB to do the sudden stop. You can change the setting so that you have to use the RMB to engage the aiming, then release it to do the stop.
did you mistake the map markers in this? did I? noticed you talking about dropping flares and arty on the command post, but they were put on the 'infiltrate' location marker rather than the command post marker
Too bad that when you are looking at the battle damage that you don't get a report of who was killed / injured and what type of damage the vehicle took e.g. cook off or turret blown off
We still love you and we forgive you for that audio glitch Mr. Wolfpack... now heart and pin my comment
Okay
Reuploaded due to an audio issue. Sorry about that!
Like video
That visual of the line of tanks burning in the darkness was beautiful
The game looks fantastic
Crazy the Marines were rolling into Desert Storm with these things with ERAs when big Army already got their fancy Abrams
those were USMC reserve units, regular Marines had M1IPs and A1's.
In most countries Marines don't get main battle tanks American budgets are wild
@@keithsimpson2150 now they don’t have them.

"Penetrated driver's skull." Jesus Christ dude that level of nuance!
I know, it is pretty grim just to read it
No thermals on M60A1 RISE (Passive), hence the "Passive" 😉
Appreciate the correction!

@@ArchOfficial That didn't directly cause slow gunnery, it was just a coincidence.

As close as you were to the BRDM the commanders .50 would have been the better weapon to engage with.
Please keep uploading HEAT videos!
I will :)
Man, the progress on GHPC has been phenomenal! I'm looking forward to all of the improvements to come!

This mission was really difficult when I tried to use only the night vision. The illumination rounds really helped to win this.
I remember when I played this game in early access, it has gotten way better since.
is it still a E Access game ? W.I.P
Amazing as always. Im somehow suffer temporary blindness when you were checking map, but that should be good in day or two 😂
haha yeah you have to love that!

That first BRDM gunner was probably just meaty bits in the turret
btw idk if anyone else has said but to stop restocking you just hit the toggle restocking button again, love your videos :)
Merry Christmas too u and the family
