LMAO idk if it was intentional, but at 4:54 you say "tank goodness!" instead of "thank goodness!" and the shitty pun enjoyer within me liked that a lot. That was fantastic. I just bought the game on steam. Can't wait for multiplayer in the future, that's gonna be rockin'. Like War Thunder, but uhhhhh.... good.
You know what's amazing about this game? The developers emailing me a free stream key for being a Patreon supporter! That's a developer team that really cares about their fans/customers. They also do an amazing job pushing big updates and communicating intentions and progress. I also really like how this is one of those games that's fairly easy to learn but hard to master. I was surprised how much of a challenge it is to stay alive during a massive engagement. I'm a fan!
Installed today off my Patreon key (which I really didn't expect, but hey, hella cool), this early access will be great to get the game down before the full release comes. This is good now, but I'm sure it will get even better. I'm amped for it because rode an M60A3 in 2nd ACR back in the early 80s reasons.
This game is phenomenal! I’m a mid tier annual Patreon subscriber and I’m super excited to see this game get its steam release. When I had an issue with getting my name submitted for the credits, the head dev ActionScripter messaged me on discord and fixed it. Super awesome and dedicated dev team. I can’t wait to see where this game goes in the future. I’m personally hoping to see British vehicles like the Challengers and Warrior.
Without wanting to sound cheesy: anything you play is so entertaining, I'm just hooked to this channel. For all I care you could play Donkey Kong and I would watch it.
@@jasont6287 same here - M1 Tank Platoon had state of the art graphics at that time, and I was only able to play it with a green monochrome monitor and no joystick 😄
Hopefully they will add other NATO units after they're done fleshing out the Warsaw Pact units. Would be interesting to see Chieftains or Leopard 1s/2s or even AMX-30s squaring off against the Pact forces...

I’m so excited to get this game, I loved the demo. Even though it’s bare bones right now it’s still a ton of fun. Though what I really want to see is the next installment of your il2 series. You left on a cliffhanger, i gotta know what happens next.
You knock em out so quick one might get the impression the AI doesn't know how to fire their main guns. What I always find fascinating in the AAR is how so often you can see the majority of a shot's mass fragmenting and being deflected away from a tank's armour, but still just enough penetrates and causes catastrophic damage inside that it doesn't really matter.
Picked the game up, already enjoyable, but AI def needs the most work, friendlies at least. Had a flank on few M1's in a T-55, bagged one and the rest immediately reacted and just annihilated me and the other two 55's. End mission brief showed one of my comrades with the gun on maximum elevation, pointed to the sky while the other was facing 180 degrees to the wrong direction. Friendly Pattons also like the ass towards the enemy strat
@@Tuulos Some NATO tanks have gun barrels point up to ease reloading, don't know/remember about the Soviets. But this elevation was no reload aid as it hadn't even fired once i bet
I hope someone can answer this. I was tasked to defend a town, I waited and wait but aside from on pot shot on my tanks from a far hill I saw no enemy’s coming in. Waited about 30 min. Is the AI stuck or is the AI planning an attack? I don’t mind waiting as it’s realistic but I don’t want to wait around if the AI is stuck.
@Demon Considering the game is still in early access it makes sense but once it starts reaching maturity it wouldn't be the worst idea to make some mod tools. But modability is not necessarily the only selling point of course
@@rossmum Unfortunately, that's not the case. Even though T72M is kind of a downgrade of the normal T72A, it still uses composite armor. The T72A's turret effect thickness is 450mm against KE rounds, 550mm against HEAT rounds. T72M's is about 380mm against KE and 490mm against HEAT.
It's a simcade that happens to be more simmy than something like War Thunder. The tanks only use systems they actually have, so hitting a distant moving target is WAY easier with an Abrams than it is with a '60s Soviet tank for example (laser range finding, automatic gun compensation and lead. The point of an effective modern tank is to be easy to use)
AI needs some serious tweaking. At the moment it is not interesting to play for the US, because you have a thermal imager and it is easier to detect the target, plus the commander helps you detect the enemy, while the enemy is almost helpless and often does not see you even at close range. Besides 105mm gun shouldn't be able to pierce T-72's frontal armor at the range of over 2000 meters... But when you win a battle against an M1 driving a T-55, you get a completely different experience.
How could you even? I can see a mobility kill, taking out the treads, or a mission kill if you manage to get lucky and hit the gun. But destroying it? You'd have to ambush it from the sides or rear, and they have thermals, scouts etc
these are T-72M, so export variants with downgraded armour, the M833 DU penetrator would have no problem cutting through these tanks even at extreme range
This doesn’t have enough depth to it in my opinion and is way too bare bones. I tried the demo numerous times and it just didn’t keep my attention which says something to me because I love tank sims. This is just too arcade feeling to me.
Don't buy this game yet. Friendly and hostile AI are terrible or they are gods. One game friendly AI can see every russian tank through the terrain, next game same map they can't hit a russian tank 200meters ahead of them.
absolutely nothing like Warthunder. This sim is a recreation. The fire control system is modeled properly along with how things looked on the M1A1IP. Very very different from the arcade shooter that is warthunder.
@@johnlove3461 it's an arcade shooter. No internal view view apart from the sights, the vehicle movements are unrealistic. It has a very long way to anything near a simulator and I don't think it intent to be anything like that.

The Abrams has a self-lead feature, hold down laze while moving reticle with target for a beat or 2 then fire

The original 10x optics made it tough to engage 3000m plus. Not that most places in Europe allowed for that size of engagement area.
Good grief...one would expect a tank to be rather tough...but the Abrams makes em look like paper and just punches holes in em with ease!
