  • Here I'm using Zinsser Bulls Eye 123 to prime some shiny tiles.
You can prime almost any surface with this interior and exterior product, and then paint over with any kind of paint.
Although once the tiles were primed, and I painted over it with an emulsion paint, I would not recommend a matt emulsion as a splash back for a sink, but thats what the customer wanted as the sink itself is barely used.
The performance of this product is amazing in my opinion because it just has so many uses.

I used this on tiles previously without sanding. Went on great and looked amazing. Then I pushed something up against it and it scratched off. I then was able to pull the whole thing off in big chunks. It basically created a film but did not adhere to the tiles at all. I did it again but sanded them first and that did the job

You have just proved that zinsser bullseye is what I went to the first time I was faced with half a wall full of Dark blue Ceramic wall tiles that had to be changed to Orange. I was imaging all sorts of issues so I gave zinsser a go. And like you I am glad I did.

123 is what it is, same with all.zinzeer products, they do well on jobs. However thw top coat os what determines the job. Id suggest rustoleum as such. Tough and hard wearing for high traffic areas and it'll pass the " scratch test" good video JB.

Goid video mate but dulux do a tile paint that you can mix to any colour and i think johnos and crown do something similar

A wee drop of polyvine clear varnish over the top helps. 😁

Thank you for sharing. This primer is absolutely useless. I put this on tiles (I even sanded tiles lightly just in cace) Applied Zinsser Bullseye 123, when dried I painted over with Zinsser mould resistant paint. I have done this three times on different tiles, following Zinsser instructions. Every time it peeled off like big piece of skin. I just wasted money and time. This NOT ADHERE to tiles at all

What can i use if my tile is dirty and i want to clean it first b4 i paint it ?
.do u have any recommendations? I was thinking of bleach and a rag, but I don't know if that would be a good idea or may be it is i gotta do my research.

    Hi Justin!
I'm based in the UK and I bought a used glass console table in brilliant condition. The stand of the table is metal and has a very smooth and shiny gloss finish (in a grey colour) - with only 1 or 2 small scratches.
I want to spray paint the stand a gold colour. I was ONLY going to lightly sand the scratches, wipe it down with "methylated spirit" and then use the "Zinser 123 Bullseye Primer- Sealer", then spray paint it gold using the"Rust-Oleum" brand. Do you think this would work?
Alternatively, if this is wishful thinking, can I use a cheap liquid sander (HG liquid sander), then the 'Zinser Bullseye" and finally the gold spray paint? Your advice would be most helpful. Thanks in advance!

Not recommend at all, save yourself hassle, money and time and buy zinsser coverstain instead, oil based primer far better than 123
