The Kill Mode is so true for me. One match I'll play exyremely well and have the advantage and the other I feel like I am doomed to lose from the start. Maybe it's just my beginner's lack of knowledge on how to gain the upper hand on most fighters but a lot of that thinking plays a part into this.

Each of the things you covered have been noted by my opponents giving me feedback and other people reviewing my sets over the course of about a month (since I started going to tournaments). My work is cut out for me for sure, and I have quite a bit of optimizing to do. However, I have confidence, motivation, and importantly, time, and I truly believe that with time and practice I can finally reach the skill level and awareness needed to reach for a place on my state's PR rankings.
# 2 is HUGE. I recently hit a plateau where I felt like I wasn't improving at all, yet was still losing almost every game. After looking at some of my replays, and looking at different unorthodox methods of practice (Amiibo training can be surprisingly helpful) I realized I was over committing on everything. Every hit I got I tried to combo off of, even if I knew it wasn't safe. I was going for reads I didn't have, and trying to pressure with moves that were easily punished. As soon as I realized where the fault in my playstyle was, I improved exponentially.
I'm actually really guilty of constantly trying to ledge guard. I try to do it even when opponents have already come to the ledge. I have plenty of bad habits, so I'm glad to see that these videos are a thing.
Funny thing about spot-dodgers: You can sacrifice a stock (but it's preferable not to) in reading that the opponent loves to spot-dodge. Then you start acting appropriately against that habit, and you send the opponent into meltdown mode because they literally don't know any other guarding actions. It's like showing a Luigi player that there are more opening options than going for the grab. And it's hilarious
