Well...if you don't get the R-line you won't be paying nearly that much. You get nearly all of the same features in the lower trims as well. VW does a great job in base load for trims. My wife and I love our 2019 Atlas and we're driving around a 2024 SE with tech and it's awesome.
I have a 2019 Atlas SEL premium with 75K miles. Changed to 17" rims and AT tires recently and took it on forest roads in Hells Canyon Oregon. It easily climbed 3K feet in elevation over 25 miles of ATV/Jeep trails.
One of the most underated SUV's out there. VW does absolutley no advertising and they still sell the crap out of these. Also has one of the best warranties in the industry. I love my Peak Edition SEL and just paid $46K. Hard to beat that in today's market.
Well, they're actually doing pretty BADLY worldwide. It's lazy and insane that they don't do many ads on TV or online. Very bad marketing strategy. Their profits for 2024 are DOWN a whopping 55% compared to 2023. They're crazy to not do any advertising.
Hey Tommy, you should rank individual AWD & 4WD vehicles on their respective performance on your slip test. This would inform consumers of traction performance, which is important for those of us living in locations where inclement weather can present a problem. Think of like what Top Gear would do with lap times around their track.
I've had mine sel r line for about half a year now with about 48k kilos on it. Have to say so far I am pleasantly surprised and while driving in sport mode and with the new finishes it gives me a very Porsche vibe... maybe someone else have also experienced this. Really nice car, nice drive, huge inside and very capable. Further the engine is an audi engine adapted for the atlas and have to say it's smooth and can really kick it into gear when needed.
My neighbor, a senior citizen had a Passat. It was in immaculate, pristine condition. Transmission failed just under 100k miles. VW / Audi is a brand that you should only lease.
If it’s Passat venting time I bought one in late 2018, I got rid of it at just 32k miles in late 2023 In five years: Engine carbon buildup to the point the car would start violently shaking when driving, throwing EPC and check engine lights and going into limp mode each time. Dealer replaced fuel injector wiring harness and cleaned the engine after fighting for way too long Slipping transmission Throttle control issue of some kind, car wouldn’t move from a red light but if you took your foot all the way off the throttle and back on it would act like nothing happened. 2 dealers couldn’t recreate but it did this all the time Dead power seat Dead sunroof, also leaked briefly Fuel door stuck locked Rear taillight filled with water every time it rained Could not get anybody to lemon law it even with a lawyer, sold to Carvana and I’m sorry to whoever has it now. It’s a shame because I liked it a lot when it worked
@@davewilson7602 Your comment provided me some relief as I was recently shopping for a used vehicle a Passat vs Avalon(I know they're two different sizes) but VW does a great job with their base models offering the features I want without costing an arm and a leg.....needless to say I went with the used Avalon
People care more about resale value than they need to. Don't sell it in 2 months and it doesn't matter. My atlas has 225k and still running like it did day one. I have absolutely got my money's worth. If you're worried about resale, go get a lease.
@@garrettunderwood3861 VW are only good if you keep them till they fall apart. Data shows most buyers replace their vehicles every 3-4 years. If you trade a VW around that time you’ll lose your shirt compared to a Honda or Toyota.

@johnvovakes9861 The new Atlas has the EA888 which is the same engine they have been using in the golf/a3 and more. I have personally put 120k on one with no issues. Just regular maintenance and some preventive maintenance
Just did a roadtrip to Destin,FL from New Braunfels,TX… I have this exact 2024 model & the drive was super smooth. The highway passing with the new 2.0T is very impressive.
